I would like an in-game metric for our Shell debt.
One component of why we need to loot in Marathon is to pay back our debt for shell reprints.
I'd like to see that metric for comparison and progression.
Who has the greatest debt?
Who is running in the black and a leaderboard for that.
It helps reinforce the rogue-like foundations in the game... for new, developing, or established players.
And it could be used as a boon/mechanic for resets.
Every season your debt resets. However, based on thresholds for debt and surplus.
Receiving benefits next period.
Up to 5000 debt
Up to 10000 debt
Up to 50000 debt
So, rewards if you maintain less than 50k in debt.
These exact metrics are placeholders; I'm just outlining the mechanic with these examples.
Up to 1 million Surplus... would be max rewards.
Every NEW regular shell you bring in adds 1,500 to your debt.
Every NEW Rook shell you print costs you 1k.
This wouldn't be a cost/metric that you would absorb until the end of each season.
Which would allow for that chase and progression.
Explicitly:
To end each season with,
1. As few deaths as possible
And
2. With enough money/loot value to cover your debts.
This could be a chase for all players at every skill band.
The surplus threshold rewards would provide upgrade materials to aid in progression/faction unlocks the following season.
@Bungie... for your consideration, please and thank you.
