Bungie, I am the middle child, and I have a serious complaint about Trials

Bungie, when I say middle child, I mean that I'm not on the game to ego anyone, idc so much about my performance in PvP so long as I feel challenged and I am enjoying myself and when there is some oppressive aspect of the game, before I complain about it, I say to myself, "What can I do as a player to improve my personal experience?" In PvP, individual player experience will vary. Your oldest children like to use xim on console and ego people with their incredibly padded stats. Your youngest children are the equivalent to the kid that finds his father's unlocked firearm and does something unfortunate to themselves or a family-member with it--they don't know what they're talking about, they haven't been around long enough to have an opinion that matters but they are the future so we have to listen to them and protect them from the dangers of reality in competition. I've committed to a style of play season after season and suffered through the worst of OP cheese and I've submitted my fair share of complaints about prismatic hunter. Well done, on that nerf, ... but I'm still not playing Destiny 2 like I used to... and now it's during the biggest draw time. I'd spend my weeks perfecting my play style waiting for Trials to release on Fridays and happily hop in to play. I used to have a regular fireteam I'd play with but that stopped when it seemed almost every match was way too hard. I'm not saying I want my opponents to be terrible so I can have fun... I'm saying that if you can't adequately combat Ximming on console, why the heck are there weapons like Shayura's Wrath and 2-tapping pulse rifles that forcibly double my playtime on a single card because I can't outright fight people that are just going to beam me in the head? You go in as three-stack and see people with 95% headshot accuracy and thousands of flawless and they're all together and you encounter them repeatedly--we stopped stacking because it's no fun to have to play so hard on Game 1 out of 7. It's even worse when you finally get to game 3 and get consecutive card-killing opponents just destroying you from across the map with auto rifles and then pulling off some impossible move with a shotgun the moment you get close. It gets old very fast. I played duo but the odds of running into a duo team doing the same goes up as the player population goes down. So now I play alone. I played for the last 3 hours; I warmed up in Clash and went into Trials with a tentative start. I was playing poorly but got the feel for the map and the meta and finally start to get my card going. I get to game 3 and it seems like my random teammates are almost always outmatched... I want to call them Helen Keller and Stevie Wonder but I don't want to insult the differently-abled. 3 games in a row, my teammates were absolutely below skill level. Now I wouldn't be complaining about this had I been playing badly myself, but I was decimating the team, one match I was winning 3-0 with a 10.0 and my teammates couldn't do anything. To be direct, the issue I'm having is it seems as if my opponents are almost always way more aware than my teammates and I can't figure out why... eventually they seemingly come to their senses and realize if they just kill me they'll be able to win, and that's what happened 3 games in a row. I got aggravated after playing 14 games and still not being flawless, and knew one of the games I was in was an absolute waste of time so I left. Now I'm on 3 wins, both Mercy gone, the whole of my opponents team have positive efficiency and my team its literally just me and 2 guys who pay for their gaming subs by the bullet while playing blindfolded. I win my next 2 games and get to game 5 after having some capable teammates for the first time on the whole card. After being carried, I get to game 6 and the other team has 2 capable players and both my teammates are negative-kd. Now my passage is flawed. Ok. I just gotta pick up the pieces and carry the dead weight better next time right? I reset my passage and go back in, and my game 1, after having consecutive games in which my teammates were totally outmatched and having my passage flawed while watching the worst players this game can offer up sell my card--people under level, rocking double primary, never played a single match of crucible in their lives--I'd die after killing two opponents and watch them both die to the last man standing--the game before I had to watch them sell my 3-0 lead as the opponents realized they just had to kill me--AFTER LOSING MY CARD TO 3 GAMES OF THIS--MY FIRST GAME AFTER RESETTING, THEY PUT ME AGAINST A GUY WITH A 3.32 OVERALL KD with 2 almost-positive players against me and 2 negative players that had absolutely no chance at winning. Idk if the matchmaking is over-estimating my abilities as a player but I'm having enough trouble caring about my stats when I can't win a match unless I break my damn back carrying. I left that unwinnable match and got a 30 minute ban and now I've turned the game off and don't want to play at all anymore. usually on Fridays, soon as Trials drops I'm playing all night into the wee hours of the morning (so long as I'm not working or studying for some exam). My solo-queue experience has consistently been this way and I'm just playing less and less because it's demoralizing and irritating. Idc if I lose a match. You can't with them all. The fun is being challenged and finding a way to amend your playstyle so you can win--My complaint is that some of my matches are absolutely unwinnable. Please... consider making Trials endgame once again instead of having it open to the public and saying "play at your own risk". Trials right now is the equivalent to swimming at a pool with no rules or regulations. You're a capable swimmer and you jump in, but someone who doesn't know how to swim jumps in behind you and starts climbing on you and holding you under trying to keep their head above water. Let's stop letting these people who don't know what they're doing into the pool because they're killing the damn experience.

  • Filtering everyone but "good" players does nothing. It's always relative. Right now, you're middle of the pack in terms of skill, but if Bungie started blocking low skill players, you'd be at the bottom and you'd be the one causing issues for your teammates. Make sense?

    • I don’t understand the middle child thing. Is it meant to be a metaphor for skill levels ?

    • Its usually the middle child that hurt himself and the youngest child is the one who cheat
