Nerf bows in checkmate trials

Can't even play the game when people just sit as far back as possible with bows and watch you through the walls or peek shoot. This is how you want it to go Bungie? It's a freaking joke

    What needs nerfing in PvP is Witherhoard. Spamming it takes no skill. It's worse than bubble Titans, if that's possible.

    • Its my firm belief there should be NO one shot weapons in PvP at all. 2 shot bare minimum for the strongest weapons, 3 shot bare minimum for high impact hand cannons specifically. The only thing that should one shot is supers. Bows would be useless though, being nerfed. But Wishender specifically... I must rant😂. Wishender should either be banned in Trials and competitive, or the wallhack perk itself, disabled in PvP. Its about skill right? If people used wallhacks outside of in game gear, they'd be banned for cheating, so logically this is just sanctioned cheating. If you have wallhacks, there's literally no skill involved. You can always see everything. Skill cannot be argued while using Wishender, because even without Oathkeepers, you just need to redraw from time to time. I'm using Knucklehead, which if we're being fair, would have to be banned as well, or take away the trace functionality through walls. At least with the radar always active though, you still need to be good at figuring out the moves and anticipate correctly to be effective with it. I'd be open for very heavy flinch being implemented, but real talk, I'm tired of Wishenders, hand cannons and snipers. All of these need things to heavily impact their universal ease of use, so we can have more variety in PvP. That is the lifeblood of these modes. To that note, there is also zero reason Trials maps cannot rotate by match. It is the dumbest f*cking thing that Trials is only one map per weekend. This is why its hell. Allow variety, get rid of sanctioned wallhacks, and rotate maps by match, and maybe we'd see more people in it.

      • It's hilarious how many people think bows just shouldn't exist. They're fun. They're not meta. They never will be. Once bow swap dies with the damage nerf you will hardly see them. And you can all continue to spam hc, pulse or smg. Which have all been the same 3 shifting in and out of the meta for years.

        • Honestly just make bows a special weapon. They need more damage in PvE and they're too powerful in PvP making them a special would warrant offering a buff and it'd stop PvP bow spam

            • I don’t think I was hit a single time with a bow this week. The map isn’t great for bows, it was pretty funny seeing a team of wish Enders have no idea where you are. I was normally above them with my Suros.

                    • They are already nerfed in Checkmate lol. Their normal damage in pvp is 152HS 101BS, but in checkmate it’s 129HS 70BS, requiring 2 HS for a kill. If they hit a body shot, they are dead.

                    • Or better idea, buff scouts. Scout rifles are supposed to naturally counter bows because of their flinch power. Scouts need buffs in checkmate.

                    • I don't think bows should be nerfed in pvp Almost had you for a second. I think that, because i'd rather bows be a weapon typed thats locked out of the pvp as a whole. Realistically, the only ways you can nerf bows meaningfully to change how they operate in pvp, is to either remove their ability to deal over 110 dmg on a crit, which would make them very bad. Or to reduce the handling/drawtime to something closer to base levi's breath, which would make them feel bad across the whole game. I'd much prefer to see bows set a standard for pvp, that things that negatively impact the sandbox be restricted, in some form. QP is fine, everything goes. But in comp/trials, where your goal is to win, either game wide restrictions, or player banlists should be a standard. If you wanna go even harder in the paint on this idea, take a note from the smogon scene from pkmon. Have players play a required number of games, maybe be at least adept in comp/ have a flawless or two for a given weekend, and let those players vote on how to treat each outlier in the sandbox
