The Haunted Forest is nearly objectively better than the Haunted Lost Sectors. I feel Bungie is introducing the Legend difficulty as their sort of attempt to make them more appealing, but they're just missing the point in my opinion if that's the case.
It's not that they're too easy. It's not that they just aren't hard enough. It's simply that they are fundamentally inferior in terms of enjoyment and replayability. It's like if a burger shop has an event where they sell pizzas, and the pizzas end up being really really good, but then they suddenly stop to start selling pizza toppings on burgers instead. Like, yeah it can still be good and tasty, but it's just not special anymore. We can do lost sectors any time we want.
Due to the monotonous exotic grind and stupidly low drop chance, we've become extremely used to lost sectors. Some of us may even be sick of being in them. Simply giving them a spooky makeover and monotonous objective feels almost insulting. We're tired of lost sectors. Every single run of the Haunted Lost Sectors is the exact same. There is absolutely no deviation between runs aside from location, which are places we've already been millions or even billions of times already.
At this point, it honestly feels like Bungie is just being unprofessionally immature and stubborn about this. They want players to enjoy the Haunted Lost Sectors because it's the newest idea, and instead of listening to their players, they double down their efforts to force the playerbase to do what they want. I've seen this mentality time and time again from them, so I'm highly suspecting this actually is the case. Bungie can't stand the idea that maybe players don't actually like something that they made. If you want proof of what I mean, just look at Gambit and how long it's suffered.

[/quote] This has always been an issue when it comes to them making any decisions, but it doesn't help how a lot of you constantly ask for the same content to come back instead of pushing them to use your money to design new content once in a while. Now it feels like half of D1 is in this game when you guys could have just played D1 and pushed this business to actually design a new game.

Ofc the haunted forest was miles better. Reissuing the content that was left behin before their engine adjustments would mean actual dev work tho. Its easier to just take the 100 bucks from their loyal players and not reinvest ANY of it back tho. Thats why we still have to play these boring uninspired trash sectors. Greed.

And Osiris is around and can still apparently influence the Vex network, so I don't see even a lore reason why we can't have something like Haunted Forest again. If they want to focus on the Headless Ones so much, they could add them into "Haunted Forest" at the end of dead-end/optional junctions and you could kill them for bonus loot or something. If there's a lore issue, that's odd because their origins are basically still a mystery.

I never played haunted lost sectors before but I do recall haunted forest being fun.. and just enjoying the spirit of wearing masks of silly whatever people feel like. I play lost sectors so rarely I actually think B is actually leveraging something that would feel still fresh to me.. we shall see. At least will test out the Jurassic Green and Horror Story to see what they bring to the table. -
I miss the haunted forest too but I also enjoy the haunted lost sectors so maybe they can have both.
