Personally like Bows where they are. Really strong when using Quick Access Sling and a follow up weapon. Most higher tier buffs will let them one tap, including Swashbuckler after a melee
They're pretty niche right now, but any strong buffs could make them oppressive. Think that Archer's Gambit could come back without an issue, for those who enjoyed that playstyle

There is a small discrepancy in the application that you are referring to and the application I am mentioning above. This is strictly within the bounds of using solely a bow like I do and any potential changes to keep up with a "hypothetical" raising of primary weapon performance. In your referred application the bow is less a "primary weapon" and more an accessory to a kill. Your application would be the same with igneous hammer. It has the potential to one tap and can be quick swapped to a clean up shotgun.
