Go into quickplay/comp and always getting punished for rocking 100mbps+ download with 20 ping hardwired. Why Bungie allows people below 5mbps down with 100+ ping to play crucible and teleport around. I'm tired of hitting 3 57s with nf/lunas because my opponent playing on wifi with godawful ping. I just had to buy a 300$ router that blocks laggers because Bungie punishes me for not lagging....

This post is just proof that it doesn't matter what you post, the fan boys will come out. Bungie is synonymous with LAG. Their entire P2P deployment model is laggy, There is no defending it, people know when they have bad internet! Bungie PVP is a P2P Lagfest and Bungie rarely bans people. Stop with the whole report them reply, it does nothing. I've reported laggers, I've submitted videos, filled our the form, etc........ I've reported people in comp with 25 game win streaks where no one on the winning team had even one kill as they were either DDOSing or trading wins and the people are still playing today. The lag is real, just admit it!

10 RepliesThey do punish people that lag or have bad connections. I see the complaints on these forums all the time. 2 week/2 month suspensions. If you arent reporting offenders, please do, so that Bungie can keep suspending them.

3 RepliesIf Bungie went to Dedicated Servers, nobody would have an issue with Lag.

3 RepliesEdited by DHawk12: 5/29/2019 5:29:50 AMSo you are getting suspended while having 100+ download speed, 20 ping, hardwired connection and a $300 router to “block laggers”?

1 Replyim sorry h-h-hold the -blam!- up? I get punished all the time for my australian connection. Can't count the number of times someone has managed to kill me from behind cover when im in comp. That shit does'nt always benefit us thanks very much. Or the amount of times I've seen a fist of havoc coming towards me and thought "I've got plenty of time to run away, there's like 30 metres between us, and I go to turn around and sudenly he's slapping me in the face with his blam...

5 RepliesI hope you realize when you see someone lagging it is just as bad for them as for you
-
Honesty - they just need to stop with the pinnacle weapon quests requiring comp Crucible play. That would fix 90% of the grumblings. A mode punishing folks for losses is the worst idea ever. That in conjunction with chickensh_t P2P just gives people migraines. I choose not to participate in Crucible or the Crucible weapon quests - and I am much happier.

3 Repliesthink that's bad? trying playing bloodborne and being invaded by an asshole from brazil who is definitely cheating by either lagswitch or network manipulation (or using the worse 3rd world country internet possible) to rubberband around the area, take no damage, suddenly stop in his tracks, and then instantly kill you and your team while you are both at full health
-
2 Repliesyou forget that bungie does punish lagging people, the reason you are seeing so many people lag is because the servers are crap.

7 RepliesEdited by JRBarmaz81: 5/28/2019 9:01:17 AMIn p2p games like destiny al that matters is ping...not internet connection speed. And sorry, but 20 ms is a pretty high ping...usually my 100 mbs connection works at 3ms,. Some clan mates of mine have a 0 or 1 ms ping with the same isp. During summer I move to a mountain location where I have to use a wlan router with sim card, but not even this settings cause me a ping higher than 16ms. I mean, connection speed is the quantity, ping is quality. Hope that helps you. Btw i upvote the post, cause destiny is lacking so much about connection and matchmaking too

2 RepliesSometimes I feel like my opponents are playing off the McDonald's Wifi at their Local Walmart on sample TV's and Consoles set at the opposite end of the store, from the McDonald's.

Yay punished again for playing some guy in Latin America playing on wifi.....

Most games give people who lag an edge.

4 RepliesI estimate 20 to 30% of my lost gunfights are due to the opponent lagging. Playing CoD and getting to see the kill cam from the other players perspective has really made it clear how much of an advantage you get for lagging. And those players are usually the ones who end up in the play of the game movie. I'm not going to spend any more money on my home network to combat it, I'm just going to bandwidth limit my consoles, put them back on the wifi, and download Red Dead Redemption 2 (100 fkn gigabytes) each time I start playing PvP. That way, I'll just be on the same wavelength as the lagging players.

1 ReplyBungie doesn't punish laggers, carries, recovs, AND dos's. Everything is P2P which is client sided winning. So anything done is whoever did it "faster."

11 RepliesSo glad I found your post. I was in disbelief when my fellow clan mates were informing me that Bungie utilizes peer to peer in pvp among other things. The result is those of us with 600+MB download speeds are propping up the laggers and the garbage internet users. I'm going to look into this router you talk of. I'm seriously tired of deliberate lagging going on in crucible and gambit. Back in the day there was something called "Ping Charity" and you could set it to ZERO so others could not leech off you in pvp.
