1 Replyit makes me so upset that the shotgun was nerfed. it literally was the PvE master, and it wasn’t fair that it got such a stupid change. now it’s not going to be as great for DPS in times in which it’s needed. on top of that, it was super annoying to get anyway, and it took days of gameplay for some people. they didn’t nerf the Luna’s howl, and look what that things doing! people work super hard for all these weapons and just put them in the ground.

4 RepliesThey should have just made other guns stronger and more viable. By nerfing the one all around good one, they’re just dragging out boss encounters and making us suffer through the whole “bullet sponge” ordeal again. I use the ikelos cuz it’s powerful. I’d use something else if I was also powerful. But everything else was too slow to kill so... I wish they’d buff snipers. Giving them cooler perks like in D1 with plenty of ammo. I never used shotguns in D1. The fact I’ve used nothing but a shotgun in D2 cuz snipers feel like ass should say something.

It was such an unnecessary nerf. All they needed to do was return Box Breathing to its pre nerf state and have it available on more energy snipers. Done. Or I don't know, buff Merciless. There were other options that would have been much better.

Everyone complaining about the nerf... I have a question for you. Have you [b][u]actually[/u][/b] used it post nerf? Cos the only real difference is that you have to punch, hold the trigger for 1 second (possibly less), punch, hold the trigger for 1 second (possibly less), rinse and repeat. Did the Last Wish raid 3 times last night, no problem. Essentially it's still the strongest energy weapon in the game, and Bungo's "nerf" pretty much did nothing. So quit whinging and just go use the damn gun already.

6 RepliesThis is just lazy on bungies part, instead of a nerf why not bring up fusion rifle damage,scout rifle damage ,and SMG damage. I'm about done with these games they play, been playing destiny from the start but am getting really tired of this. This shotty got a big damage nerf when it was moved to the special slot , now it's being neutered again. The whole point of this game is grinding for the best loot, then using said loot to finish end game activities. I am not buying d3 and certainly not going to buy anymore expansions for d2 either. This is a business practice that I will not support any longer. It's not that I depend on this shotty,I play with many other guns in my special ,it is the principal of the whole thing.

In theory can a warlock with lunafaction use it in its pre nerf state? Given that lunafaction boots refill ammo after the first shot and trench barrel will deactivate after the third.....hmm....try it if you guys have a warlock when the update comes out!

Why are Destiny 2 players so melodramatic? People are literally claiming that EP should be shut down because of this nerf? I get most of you are probably mature adults, but stop acting like spoiled children. Even as a fan of the gun, it was drastically over-powered. It is still quite powerful, but god forbid you have to melee the target again to maintain the OP buff, right? I've even seen some lame remark that he's uninstalling the game because of this nerf. Good riddance. If something this minor, even though it took most of us a day or so to acquire this weapon, causes you to completely quit the game, you seriously need to the grow the -blam!- up and quit posting your tantrums on the internet. There will be other godlike shotguns. Deal.

Again another fine example of Bungie extremes. Instead of perhaps adding in some other weapons into the pool to compete with Ikelos SG they've basically given it a death sentence. Nerfing trench barrel was one thing. Adding trench barrel to the random rolls pool pretty much renders Ikelos SG useless and creates a SG trench barrel meta, with other SGs having mods and possibly getting better rolls in other areas it just means Ikelos SG can be discarded. This also means EP might as well be shut down too.

Everytime we do stuff with the sanbox and guns [b]YOU[/b] give us, especially in PvE, and you don't like it.. You nerf it. You didn't like how fast we could take out raid bosses, etc, so you nerfed Box Breathing among other stuff. Now cause of people getting efficient in Gambit you're nerfing yet another Ikelos weapon, which is arguably the best PvE shotty in the game. So yet again rather than allowing us to play efficiently you, yet again, are forcing us to play the way [b]YOU, Bungie[/b], want us to.Not the way we, the players, want to. So bloody tired of unneeded nerfs, or nerfs that come cause of PvP whining, especially when they heavily impact PvE and 9.9 times out of 10 aren't asked by anyone in the PvE landscape. Edit: Player-base: -Figures out how to melt the Primeval- Bungie #1: They did it again. Bungie #2: What? Bungie #1: They did it again. They've become to efficient. They've figured out how to melt yet another Boss. Bungie #2: Nerfhammer! We must nerf the Ikelos shotgun! They must play [b]OUR[/b] way.

1 ReplyI stopped using this shotgun over a month ago. Once in awhile ill use it in the raid. I've just gotten bored with it is all. Never really cared for shotguns in any games. But nerfing it is pretty dumb. When most shotguns I see used in pvp would be Dusk Rock Blues or Parcel of Stardust.
