Aztecross mentioned this in his dear pvp *devs* video, and I really agree with it.
Without a ttk change accompanying the weapon system update, pvp will be busted.
Shotguns are hard enough to stop with your primary as it is. If fusions shottys and snipers get ammo the way they did in d1, countering them with primaries will be harder than it ever has been.
For there to be balance assuming the ammo becomes like d1 special, either the ttk needs to get faster, or the kinetic and energy one shot weapons need to be much worse than the power counterparts.
My opinion: faster ttk. Don’t get me wrong. I’m all for a fusion in my second slot. I just think it’ll be hard to fight when ttk’s are like 50% longer than d1.
Edit:fixed typo

4 RepliesSorry, you can't ruin something that never worked right in the first place.
-
How can you ruin PvP when it's already complete shit?
-
9 RepliesWho cares about PvP? This game is supposed to solely based on PvE... not fighting other guardians. If you want a PvP heavy game go play CoD or Overwatch.
-
This thread should be moved to #assumptions. Why not wait and see? I guess attention is hard to come by in your household
-
4 RepliesHow do you know if you haven’t played it?

Fine tuning ammo and ttk in pvp is the last big item we’re still working on for Forsaken. It’s not locked in yet and we’ll likely be tuning until the last minute.
They already announced that the time to kill is being adjusted with forsaken
-
Guess what lol
its already ruined. Has been since launch
-
The result will be no one ever uses primaries
-
If they don't make the TTK faster in the next big update PVP is done. I agree 100% with everything he said. I hope they listen.
-
Lowering the TTK a bit would help. We kept asking for more powerful primaries to counter shotguns and snipers in D1 as opposed to the majority constantly asking for nerfs. In the end they took away special ammo and never decreased the TTK with primaries. It will be nice to not have to sit in a group and team shoot to win.

1 ReplyWeapons back in their rightful slot, decrease in time to kill in both PvE and PvP, better maps designed and added in the future, game power built around PvE. How exactly does that ruin PvP? Not only does PvE gain more playability due to power fantasy, but PvP will become better for it. However, nothing benefits if Bungie don't deliver.
-
No shit. It would have been better to let us chose what weapon we wanted where and the ammo type we put it in be the determination factor for damage and so on. But apparently that's to difficult for bungie to make work.
-
My advice would be wait till you’ve played it, it’s still being balanced as we speak. I feel anything is better than what we have now as I can’t bring myself to play pvp at the mo.

PvP sucks anyway. Its foundation is set of horrible decisions that sucked all the fun out of it. Now they are stuck with tiny maps and team shotting that doesn't work well 6v6.
-
Good, I hope this leads to a complete eperation of both modes. PvP should have it's own gear that is only used in Pvp modes. Can have it's own Exotics and ever Subclass trees could have PvP type abilities.
-
I hope it does break it so we can finally leave PvP behind.
-
good, I hope it kills pvp completely... pvp scum is what ruin destiny in the first place
-
Yes, it very well may. My heart isn't breaking. You *should* be greatful there isn't a Felwinters Lie in D2, consider yourself lucky that way.
-
It can get worse?
-
4 RepliesOk. I could be way off here but my understanding is if you have power weapons in all three slots you still need power ammo (purple bricks) to use them. If I'm wrong then I apologize but if not then these weapons will be useless until you can get ammo for them.
-
1 ReplyPeople whined all through D1 that special was too powerful, I still used my primary to the tune of 4,000+ hours, the difference will be minor. The whiners will still whine of course but I digress.
-
Always has been, always will be shit
-
It's the old weapon system. The new one almost ruined Destiny.
-
PvP has ruined PvE plenty of times, consider this as payback.
