Please post rational responses, as many people (including myself) don't understand why this was needed.
Simply put, new features usually address a known problem, or shortcoming, of a game's current design. What problem does locked loadouts solve? If you like to use the same loadout, what stopped you from just doing that in Destiny 1?
I can't help but think the fundamental design of the weapons, enemies, or both will have to change to address this. If every weapon has to work in every situation, how does this not mean everything has to be more generic?
Would a situational weapon like Touch of Malice even exist in Destiny 2? That's definitely not something you would want to carry all of a HM raid just to use once.

5 RepliesNightfalls will be a welcomed added challenge. I'm hoping it also goes back to being kicked back to orbit if the fire team wipes. Hopefully the rewards will reflect the added challenge. I like the Nightfall being a top tier endgame challenge. As for the hard mode raid, I'm sure you'll be able to rearrange you load outs in between encounters. I.E. like the space between the warpriest and golgroth. If not fire teams will just be going to orbit after getting check points. Every raid to date, I've had a load out that I use for each encounter anyway. I never change during the fight. The only way Bungie could prevent this would be by either not giving check points or enabling some kind of special drop for doing the raid from beginning to end with the same load. Bungie ain't going to take away check point because it'll infuriate the casual players and make the raids done by even less of the community. Which is something they've made clear strides to not do with D2. If it's special drops for added challenge, I welcome it.
