We wanted primary buff... Not a special nerf.... Raise the range of all primary guns... Pulses scouts handcannons.... Make primarys more viable not make special worse and make us use guns that avoid the special nerf....honestly all I want is a primary meta.... The first week of this meta felt great but now it's boiled down to icebreaker and stickies.

It's to late for balance. This is what we asked for this is what we got a handful of useable guns out of hundreds of choices. But we did it to ourselves everyone a good gun cropped up we screaming nerf because apparently nobody ever dies to a player that out plays you. Every death is blamed on something and our sad excuses for exotic primaries now sit in our vault because we told bungie that's what we wanted. Then cried when they buried them in the dirt say it was a bad nerf. Their is never a good nerf. Ask bungie to buff the guns that needs to be buffed to complete with the with whatever the current gun that was considered op at the time. Imagine being able to go into a crucible match and being able to down a thorn user with the weapon of your choice. But we never saw that. What we say is nerf and bye bye thorn. Hello whatever is the next op thing is. And again we are still screaming nerf and we continue on a downward spiral until everything has been nerfed 5 times

2 RepliesProblem is, Bungie thinks they can herd cats. Reduce special weapons to unreliable junk, players will go to primaries, right? WRONG!!! Players went to stickies, Ice Breaker, Invective, No Land Beyond, Wormwood, Trespasser, and assorted other sidearms. Cats go where they want to go, not where you think they should.

2 RepliesPeople didn't use special weapons because they were more fun, they used them because they were instant kill. Camping in the long grass for 12 minutes on Shores of Time map hardscoping lanes doesn't make the game more fun. It did make it frustrating as all hell. The only way to buff a primary enough to challenge a special is to make them instant kill too. What would be the point.

That's correct. Undo the special ammo nerf. I do not care if the entire crew is busy with Destiny 2. Because I am playing this game now and it's broken. Fix what you broke, Bungie. Find time and resources. Screw Destiny 2, I'm not waiting for it. Thanks.

Undo the lastest hand cannon range nerf, buff autos DAMAGE by about 4% and keep all its current buffs. Buff pulses damage drop off. Undo the shotgun in air accurracy nerf only and bring back special but on trials there should be no boxes and we all spawn with a clip of special which is lost upon death.

1 ReplyLiterally, everyone and trials and their mom, dogs grandpa and next door neighbor. Use ice breaker. 1: it regens ammo 2: has tons of aim assist due to range.

Agreed. Stopped playing the game all together because of this. Dev team dug themselves and us into a massive hole of blanket nerfs to entire weapon types and special ammo change that I don't see the possibility even if they wanted to to dig this meta out of the sinkhole as it would require them to bight the bullet and admit there poor decision and revert there last two balance changes. That would require humility and acknowledgement of time and $ wasted on prior balances. In addition to reverting everything back from two balanced ago. I would have to imagine they would actually make effort and balance the game with effort to actually make weapons viable against each other. But who I'm kidding D2 is on deck and that is the priority. With that said I'm not buying D2 as from what I can tell where still only getting 3 guardians classed and nothing will be substantially different than D1 that is worthy of calling this a sequel. On top of that I don't trust the dev team to put out a quality game or be able to maintain it after experiencing the end result of D1.

3 RepliesEdited by RPColten: 5/9/2017 11:03:25 PMProblem with that is that the design team has been slowly trying to push Destiny's PvP arena into a slower more interactive environment with slower kill times and less situations where players are insta-gibbed by someone. Problem with that ideal however is that it just ends up highlighting whatever tool players have that can satisfy that itch. Players want that instant-kill ease of play and will flock to whatever is available. This move for special ammo being less forgiving makes players feel like they need to use specific tools, which is absolutely not true. Must use X or Y to win. They made special ammo a little more scarce, but ignored the other tools that perform this same task more frequently. Should Ice-Breaker and sticky-grenades be changed? Absolutely not. They are just a bi-product of this change, not a direct influence. Should special ammo be reverted to its previous state? We'll be back five steps then with no progress. Players want damage buffs to primary weapons. Devs don't want primary damage buffs. Players also wanted special weapons to be less used and primary weapons to be used more. Dev's want the same thing. How do you get players to use item A whilst reducing the amount of use of item B, and at the same time keeping item A the same? Limit how available item B is. It's just not simple in how it is executed though. Destiny is not the first and only game-as-a-service medium to have community/developer strife in terms of balance and design. Destiny is however one of the few to have such a community that near demands the developers to conform to their every wants and desires. I think primary weapons could have done with a small increase in damage, but I don't believe it be a necessary need. A very small adjustment to primary damage and a slight roll-back on the special ammo change would be a good step.

Bungo only cares about stats not the community

8 RepliesThe problem is that a primary buff isn't consistent with the slow gameplay they are trying to force on us with this game in PVP. They want combat similar to what they had in the Halo 2/Halo 3 hayday's where combat and kill times were slow, but it didn't matter because your spartan's were less mobile than guardians are today. So when people complain about special weapons, the only tool they see that they have in their toolbox is the nerf-hammer. Because they refuse to allow this game to be its own entity, and they continue to try to make it like the second coming of Halo. And the same sandbox team will be balancing things in Y2. No indications have been made that they will be reassigned, and no indications have been made that they will be forced to change their philosophy. In fact, they will be given new tools/programming which allows them to make changes (nerfs) faster. This is why in D2, PVE must be completely bifurcated from PVP, so that AT LEAST one side of the game can continue to thrive. Make no mistakes about it. You can't expect the same people doing the same job in D2 to yield different results than what they yielded in Y2/Y3.
We wanted primary buff... Not a special nerf....
That's exactly what a large percentage of posts had been saying for ages... then the Dev team did what they did... and nerfed the Truth. I was mortified. I still am.

1 ReplyHaha I tried to tell everyone this the day the patch dropped. Agreed 100% tho primaries need buffed and special needs brought back.
-
The solution is sometimes worse than the problem. Players should think carefully before asking for changes.
-
This shows the laziness of the balancing team. Instead of putting in the work to buff primaries and make the necessary nerfs to just a few problematic weapons, they nerf special ammo. They thought by doing this the players will be forced to use primaries and would be satisfied, wrong. We want to use our special weapons that we are used to and have our primaries strong enough to be viable again. The mass nerfs and the unnecessary nerfs must stop and Bungie needs to really look at the problems and work them out instead of sweeping them under the nerf blanket.

1 ReplyThe special nerf didn't even work that well all It managed to do was promote the use of only a couple weapons

1 ReplyYou know that u cant comment a bungie stream on twitch if u are not a subscriber ??? There whole community are not us but instead those who pay them the most pocket money ... i've never supported any of this bullshit
