Just did Atheon with all 335s...
They didn't know you have to keep the shield up in the middle
They couldn't kill the oracles fast enough
They couldn't clear the supplicants
They didn't know to stay together when shooting oracles
4 out of the 5 didn't know how to use the relic at all
Are there even any vanilla players left?
Edit: yes I did teach them what to do, that's how we beat it eventually. The point of this post was because I was shocked you could be max light level and not know how to do a lvl 30 raid
If anyone wants to do the old raids feel free to add me on Xbox1
EDIT: Since everyone wants to say there's no reason at all to do the old raids, tell me this then. Why do I see so many people complaining about "lack of content" when they are completely ignoring TWO raids?

4 RepliesPpl can turn the materials from VoG and CE into motes at the speaker, so at the very least, doing old raids still gives you stuff that's gonna be relevant. These new guardians don't kno a thing. For that matter, they don't even kno the struggle we went thru in year 1 with RNGesus and all the actual "lack of content." VoG is still my fav raid.

4 RepliesWhy surprised people don't raid? Back in year 1 only 18% had finished a raid. There is no matchmaking so there is a no way to learn, and people, tend to be critical of those who join an LFG raid party without already knowing it.

Been playing since the beginning of Destiny, if year 2 players want a playing expireance equip all 170 light gear and go do Skolas. That will show how good a player you really are and how good of a team player you are.

2 Repliesbungie made the game too easy imo. 335s cant do atheon crota or even oryx. even with the emblem theyre still crap at oryx. (had to legit find 10 groups to do 3 runs this week)... the good thing they "knew" what to do smfh

4 RepliesLol feel your pain. Thing is that a majority of late year 2 players haven't seen the need to do an old raid. Which is why us vanilla players need to help them out and explain things. We will have the same thing with the KF raid as soon as Rise of Iron comes out aswell. I dont mind helping people and educating new players about old raids etc as that is what 335 vanilla players "should" be doing as this is what makes the destiny community what it is today. [spoiler]wish you could still push Atheon off the edge tho lol[/spoiler]

Because I rather bungie work on new content then old ones. But I guess it would be cool to do the old raids for loot (not for fun though, why would anyone play something for fun like bungie suggested?).

8 RepliesOracle disruptor weapons are still the best for doing Vault of glass so I would worry if somebody was 335. I have Atheon's Epilogue, VoC, Fatebringer, and Pretorian Foil in the vault that I bust out pretty much weekly to go kill Atheon.

I am a year one player but I missed the raids cause I could never get in a group but y2 I made it a point to find a clan and start raiding. I also do my research before doing a raid the first time. That fact alone makes for a more enjoyable experience.
