175 exotic engrams currently in my vault
99 armor....76 weapon. All three of my characters will be close to max light on first day...lol. How many have YOU saved?

Edit #2: I have been around since day one and know all about the past history of exotic engrams. If they work they work - if they don't they don't. I have every frigging exotic and had no reason to decode them. I never expected them to decode into the new exotics - if they do great. My best hope was that they would assist in raising my light level from the start. Worst case I am gonna rank up the cryptarch a shitload for packages.
Edit #3: LOL. A lot of posts in this thread. To keep the negative posts down I will address some things I've seen. I have a job and a wife (and a child) and together we make well over $200K per year. These engrams were accumulated over many months as I have all the exotics. Why not save them and hope for the best. I'm not going to decrypt any of the engrams (ok - maybe one of each) until I have ran the story mission/strikes/etc as blues and greens will be higher than our current light level. I havent complained yet about lack of content. I will just start saving for the next expansion as I did this one. :)

3 RepliesThis seems very strange since cashing in engram's only gives you TTK weapons & armour with a small chance of higher light gear. I made sure all 3 characters have all bounties slots ready to hand in, all factions,vanguard & crucible rep just ready to go over & saved 3 focused light which still work, This is how I hit max light lvl in 1minute at TTK

1 ReplyI think the best thing to do is open a few straight away. If they give higher light items then save them all. Complete all the new story and strikes and quest. Witch I assume will get your light higher. Then open them all and you will get up to the higher light even faster 😀. Just an idea

I also mainly save mine for those moments when you're so goddamn close to rank up and want to quit playing for the night but want that package, well... just trot on over to the vault... PS - I wouldn't recommend purging your engrams all at once either, unless you want a retarded amount of duplicates.
