I AM NOT FROM THE US!!!
Why do people have to explain everything to you in this place
So I've been playing Destiny with two other guys regularly, for a while now.
One of them I know from the 360 days, back in HoW and the other has been off and on for a while, but became a steady team mate this last spring.
I play with these guys daily. We chit chat about everything and nothing. We also live in kind of the same general area of the country.
Last night we finally met up and grabbed our first beer together. It was so strange to watch.
Here's this kid that just finished high school. Then there's this tall skinny dude in his mid 20's and a 32 year old man. Sitting in a bar, talking for 3 hours straight. Laughing and teasing each other about stuff from a video game. If anyone tried to eavesdrop they would not be able to make out what the -blam!- we were saying. So funny.
I had never met them before in real life, but like, as soon as we saw each other we just started yapping on and on. It wasn't like "Oh I've never seen this person in my life. This is awkward". No. It was like we were in party chat being business as usual.
A great evening and I think we bonded even more.
There, just wanted to share this with everyone :) Destiny is so much more than just another video game.

4 RepliesFound out some of my Xbox friends live only miles away from me. How cool is that?!
-
6 RepliesI met this girl from my guild when I went on vacation in June. She was pretty cool and we shared many drinks :)
-
6 RepliesMet my girlfriend through matchmaking in a daily crucible. We only lived about 30 minutes apart, so we started talking. Now, we live together.

6 RepliesI've met my work colleagues before

1 ReplyMeeting up with my regular fireteam for the first time this Friday - the three of them all know each other already (two of them are father and son), but I haven't met any of them. We exchange messages on whatsapp all the time and talk all kinds of rubbish, so I'm sure it will be fine.

2 RepliesNice me and my clan plan on meeting IRL at the end of the year
-
I met a few people in the tower that happened to live the same city as me, we played a lot for about a year until we all got burned out of Destiny :/
-
I also just met with a few of my clansmen this past weekend, 3 of us live within 2 hours of eachother and our 4th member and close friend flew out from chicago. Such a great time when you finally get to meet the people youve shared great time and countless memories with

Had a similar experience meeting two clan mates at DCC first off no one I personally know in my life plays video games so I am sort of an outsider. Meeting that many like minded people from all walks of life was awesome. My clan mates and I hit it off and spent an hour after at the bar like we had known each other for years.

2 RepliesEdited by MNN8TV: 8/30/2016 2:34:13 PMAlways thought that would be cool. Common sense screams don't give away any personal info but you know once you hear a guys 5 year old show him a drawing he made during an iron banner match and he stops playing its hard to consider him a bad guy in any possible way.

1 ReplyThat's Amazing the bond you can make on video games is truly strong happy to read this post. #Communitisnotcancer

1 ReplyThat's awesome, man! This isn't just another game, you're right. My best online friend, a cop down in FL, invited me to his home to meet his family and go to next year's Guardian Con put on by Professor Broman, King Goth, and a bunch of other amazing Twitch streamers. I'm in WA, so you bet your ass I'm saving up for that experience. How cool is that?! This is my first online game. I was really, really hesitant to get Destiny because I felt so self conscious meeting strangers. Now, a year later, I can't describe the transformation in my viewpoint on meeting and playing with people. I've met so many great, kind, generous, and helpful people, it's truly amazing.

2 RepliesPretty cool actually, would like to meet my fireteam IRL myself... But only if they don't try to T-bag me like they do on the game when I'm down!
you know who you are and I will get you back🙃
It would almost ruin the image i have about the people i fireteam with often. I see one of the looking like Stifler, one like Randy Travis (young version), Rob Lowe, Jude Law, and some hot Australian swim suit model (young Estella Warren). We would probably all go to jail for the mischief and disorder that would insue.

Got people I've been gaming with almost 10yrs. Been planning to meet up but just hasn't happened yet. Ain't getting any younger....

About 10 years ago i joined a guild in WoW and became fast friends with one members. We have been playing games ever since. I can honostly say he is one of my best friends. He drove something like 15 hours to hang out for week, and he plans to fly down to visit again. In that time we both have gotten married and had kids. But still atleast once a week we talk on the phone and just bs about life. We play destiny together now but with him being in the army he doesnt get to play often. I still think its crazy that through a video game i met my best friend of 10 years now.

This sounds more like you fell in love

7 RepliesI'd love to meet my fireteam too. If only there wasn't this giant pond in the way.

I met a dude on my fire team once. Been playing together for 5 years or so and we met up in Houston. He had the connect for some badass Cajun food.
