And you see someone who is a higher light level and you want help... don't spam them with game invites or party chats, send them a message first and see if they're busy or if they even want to help you... spammed invites are so annoying.
Edit: I thought I was alone. Clearly, a lot of people feel the same as me; send us a message telling us what you need help with. It's not that hard. No message. No help. Spam = blocked.
Edit 2: This goes for friends, too. I don't mind helping out. I don't think I'm better than anyone, but there's still stuff I need to do in this game from week to week, so just send me a message to see if I'm busy. Out of all the comments, one person thinks I'm a douche. Lol. Look at my k/d and all my raid completions... I'm not a top tier player, I don't play Trials, and I just recently started doing KF on hard. My wording might suck, but the point still stands. And we're trending.
Edits 3: It seems I've been called an idiot and also told to get a life. Feel free to insult me. I'll just add you to my mute list. Thanks! Also, so many replies. Holy moly. Judging by the comments, I can tell who that one annoying friend is... All the down votes must be those same exact people I wish to avoid.
Edit 4: 300 upvotes. Thanks guys and girls. Keep it up.

My response to those types

3 RepliesYeah, helping lower level players is actually one of my favorite things to do these days. But sadly it rarely happens because of blind invites. All I need is a message in regards to what you would like help with and I'm all in. Another tip- Be ready to play!!! The other day some cats actually did message me for some help, so I gladly joined fireteam at the tower. Set there for a few minutes while they finished getting their shit together. No big deal, we've all been there. We eventually go to orbit and the first thing I hear is- "Hey, I'll be right back guys. I'm gonna go make a sandwich right quick." Nope! I'm out.
-
If it's an message then I normally help out immediately, but if I get just random invites it is almost always a no
-
If I get a message as to what they want to do, it's generally a yes. If it's invites it's generally a no. Very simple rules on my part

You're a douche!!!!
Just kidding... agree with every word you said. Tell em not to do on patrols either.

Make the bad people stooopppp!!!!
2 RepliesIf i get a random invite i join. It is a bit "luck of the draw", i do get epic games, and i do get asshats. I got a random invite a couple of days ago. I joined. I was on my hunter, a toon I'd not long made, and we went into CoE. An epic match happened. I also don't mind helping out low light players trying to get through story missions. I mean, we where all there once, right?

3 RepliesWrong audience. The people on forums are not the people doing this. I agree but you're cause is going to fall on deaf ears.

This. I'm not even that high of a level, but when i get party invites and no message explaining why I'm being invited to a party, i ignore it
-
1 ReplyYeah, I'm going to have to apologize for doing that at first. My issue was I didn't have a working headset and didn't know how to use the messaging feature that well so it took me forever to send a message, by which time, the messagee had usually gone to orbit. It was just quicker to peruse the list of potentials and invite the ones with the requisite light. I only would send one invite and move on if it wasn't replied to. I didn't stop to think that you light 335 people must get inundated with invites. I can see where that could be annoying. SO, to everyone I ever spammed: I'm sorry..... Now GET over here and help me do the kings fall raid with 3 people, LOL.

1 ReplyThis XxnoscopexX sends game invite asking to play Destiny Dude, im already playing destiny

90% - 95% of the time I just ignore all messages I get while in the Tower or Reef. However, on occasion, like now when I'm really bored with the game, I will respond with a message like "What?" or "What did you want?". If they're looking to do something that I haven't done in a long time, well, then I probably will help. Helped 2 kids with Challenge of Elders yesterday. I hadn't run CoE in like a month and a half to two months. I didn't get anything that could help me, but it was fun breezing through each play through in like 15 minutes.

Thats annoying. Whats just as annoying is friends and people on your friends list doing the same thing. -blam!-ing let me know what you want. Jesus
-
if you send me a random invite please for the love of the Traveler, tell me what you are wanting to do. there is no way I'm going to join a group W/O knowing WTF is going on.

I KNOW RIGHT! I swear I can't get any peace when I try t do my screenshots for my gallery at the tower. One guy just has to spam me. RIP

don't spam them with game invites or party chats, send them a message first and see if they're busy or if they even want to help you. That right there is the most annoying thing about the tower and this game. Edit: I thought I was alone. Clearly, a lot of people feel the same as me; send us a message telling us what you need help with. It's not that hard. No message. No help. Spam = blocked.
Why not just designate areas in the tower and reef to go for specific activities. Like if you see someone sitting next to brother Vance that means They're looking to do trials.

I just had this happen to me. If the person would have stopped at one or two invites, I probably would have helped them. After ten invites, I knew that I didn't want to help.
-
The hardest thing obviously is to add *insert activity* text to the invite. *like: coe, nf, vog, kf h/n etc.
-
3 RepliesNice emblem. Is that from the destiny alpha?
-
yeah it gets very annoying

This was something that used to be so common Year One that in Year Two is so uncommon. I flat out ignore anyone who doesn't send me a message. And yet, I've met some really cool people who write a simple message to let me know what they want... we end up fireteam buddies for a while... Amen!
-
Seriously all people have to do is send message
-
I only help people who message as well

3 RepliesEdited by DeathSando: 8/25/2016 5:06:50 PMThere was a previous thread about having a Tag above your head that says "need help", "willing to help" or "leave me alone". Like a Cab light. I would expand it to say we all need to be able to hold up Wile E. Coyote signs that can hold one sentence; "VOG or Bust" or "Moonrocks & Chill". Things of that nature.
