And you see someone who is a higher light level and you want help... don't spam them with game invites or party chats, send them a message first and see if they're busy or if they even want to help you... spammed invites are so annoying.
Edit: I thought I was alone. Clearly, a lot of people feel the same as me; send us a message telling us what you need help with. It's not that hard. No message. No help. Spam = blocked.
Edit 2: This goes for friends, too. I don't mind helping out. I don't think I'm better than anyone, but there's still stuff I need to do in this game from week to week, so just send me a message to see if I'm busy. Out of all the comments, one person thinks I'm a douche. Lol. Look at my k/d and all my raid completions... I'm not a top tier player, I don't play Trials, and I just recently started doing KF on hard. My wording might suck, but the point still stands. And we're trending.
Edits 3: It seems I've been called an idiot and also told to get a life. Feel free to insult me. I'll just add you to my mute list. Thanks! Also, so many replies. Holy moly. Judging by the comments, I can tell who that one annoying friend is... All the down votes must be those same exact people I wish to avoid.
Edit 4: 300 upvotes. Thanks guys and girls. Keep it up.

1 ReplyAlthough the tower was bungies way of lfg a do agree. I've been known to delete people off my friends list because of this. The worst is when you get thrown into a group chat just because some needs an extra person for a raid or something and most of the time I'm not even online and I still get thrown in
-
If you see me in the tower, wave to me. I will wave back. We can be tower buddies. When I bring up my ghost shell...our friendship is over. 😣
-
What bugs me the most is people who join nightfalls without asking. It might not be a big deal, but it's just nice to ask if you're saving spots or something like that.
-
I wish more people would send messages to help I get bored so I'll usually help
-
Good tip. I don't like getting spammed in the tower because I am there sorting stuff out for my character. That said, send a msg saying you'd like some help, I may not join you every time but more often than not I am often up for helping newer / lower light level players. That said, if you are single digit light level and learning the game, don't hesitate to ask. You can even simply send a msg asking a game play question too.
-
Also dont just join my game if you are on my friends list.
-
I immediately ignore invite spams. Interact with me like a human -blam!-ing being and I might be inclined to help you!
-
Pisses me off so much. Glad to see I'm not alone.
-
I usually reply with a link to an LFG site.
-
yes nothing worse than a blank invite. What's so hard about saying can you help me with this......
-
I'm with you. I get invites all the time from randoms. More times than not if someone just messages me I'll help out unless it's the raid, I hate the raid. Sending invites one after another is just simply rude and childish and shows that you're the exact kind of player I wish to avoid.
-
I hear you. Blank invites can be borderline creepy when the person just follows you around the tower because you're wearing the exotic swords or Touch of Malice. Were they to specify what content they wanted to do, I'd be able to at least consider.
-
Yeah on my other account I get one everytime I go to the reef and, no matter the day it's always asking for Trials help. I know they invite me because I have a scarab but seriously, it gets annoying.

Lol ya

1 Replyonly dumb people do that...

Edited by ClovenTrack620: 8/26/2016 5:12:43 PMyeah people just send u ramdom invites like ur supposed to just drop what ur doing to go play with someone that hasnt even told you what activity they're planning to complete. last time i accepted a ramdom invite at the tower i ended up trying to open the door to the Vault of Glass with a level 22 hunter, yeah just the 2 of us

"Play Destiny!" What do you think I am doing right now?!? If you can't modify the default text to tell me what you want to do I just assume your three year old is randomly pushing buttons while you're AFK. One to three words and I am good: Kings fall Crota Coe Patrol Vault Mission Less than 5% of the tower spam I get includes the activity. Most of the time I have in game notifications off and have them go to my phone because of this. I would really like to see Bungie add an "invite to activity" feature where you could select the activity to send a canned invite message. "Want to do King's Fall?"
-
I don't mind the lone random invites. Happens from time to time. But the spamming of 18-20 invites is nothing but unacceptable rude AF behavior
-
I'm the same way, with friends too. if they send me a blank invite they will be ignored lol

9 RepliesBungie have never really addressed the LFG issue. Why not implement a simple fix like speech bubble option in social areas? Not free text but predetermined sentence structures a bit like in dark souls. Typing messages with a controller is a bit tedious. I'm sure the community would determine the area to go to within social spaces after a short period. Eg the bar. It would eliminate people who lie on LFG too, you can instantly inspect people. This idea isn't that ingenious so apologies if it has been mentioned before..

8 RepliesI mentioned earlier the Wile E. Coyote signs but I have stumbled on to something more brilliant that we as a "community" could enact without developers having to do anything. We designate certain areas of the tower to certain activities. They become like bus stops. If you want to do VOG you hang out on the roof of the postmaster/eververse kiosk. If you want to do Crotas End you hang out by the sweeper bot. Nightly Heroic Strike? Go onto the platform to the left of the postmaster that has absolutely nothing on it. Go up the stairs to the area where there is absolutely nothing and that means you want to do the Heroic Strike. It would give that platform a reason to exist, because right now it is stairs that lead to a platform filled with nothing. The NPCs would make it easy as standing outside of Lord Saladin would be fairly obvious. Then people wouldn't generic shotgun spam the whole tower then take the one poor shlub who accepts to something stupid without warning them where they are about to go.

He doesn't want all of you to take his high light players

2 RepliesEdited by Willakkuma: 8/26/2016 10:45:10 AMI get the OP's point. I don't normally respond to an invite with no note. Even one word like - "Nightfall?" or whatever you're interested in. However, this mindset is way more prevalent these days than in yr 1 because of the increased drop rates & overall increase in availability to things as a solo player. Fact. I'm not saying it's a bad thing..........it's just evolved. I made some lasting friendships back in yr 1 when, for example, the Nightfall was a weekly event that NOBODY wanted to miss. And it was super tough getting sent back to orbit when you wiped, etc. Meeting in the tower & putting 3 together for the mission. More folks did it back then. I still play with some of those guys.

10 RepliesIt's annoying when I'm in a fireteam of like 6 ppl and a level 8 dude keeps spamming me with invites lol
