Games that made you feel guilty

Sooo... Today I was playing Life is strange Ep2 and couldn't convince someone out of committing suicide. After that I've been feeling like complete utter shit. Anyone ever felt this way because of a game. Examples: Spec Ops: The Line- Killing the innocent civilians Mass Effect: Ash or Kaidan Bioshock: Killing the sisters Metal Gear Solid 3: Killing the boss

Ash or Kaiden made you feel guilty? Ones a alien racist bitch who does nothing but question your paragon choices the other is a good little yes sir soldier if not lacking in personality department... Witcher 3- it was odd telling yen I didn't love her and didn't make me feel right. Choose both girls in two different play throughs

          • Mass Effect 3 - Do I choose the Geth or the Quarians. I usually always pick the quarians but I decided to pick the geth in my most recent play through. I felt like a terrible person afterwards

          • Danse's quest
you know what I'm talking about
in Fallout 4. During that quest, I was convinced that the railroad might have been right the whole time, so when Maxon ordered me yet again to kill him, I turned my weapon on Maxon instead. Basically, after being with the BOS in FO3, New Vegas, and the first half of my playthrough of 4, I felt a a complete and shameful traitor.

            • Yes, plenty of things I had to either do to complete a game or completely optional to do have upset me throughout the years. In Saint's Row 2, the guy who helps you break out of prison in the prologue? You later recruit him to be part of the Saints as a lieutenant. But after you refuse to work with that muscular dude from the rival gang, his girlfriend has some cohorts from that group abduct this friend if yours then drag him behind a moving car while he's still alive. You find the car, stop it but soon realize your friend is mortally injured. In the following cutscene you hold his hand before doing a mercy killing. Sorry but I can't remember the dude's name as I played this awhile back. Also in Bioshock 2 after working with Sinclair for the entirety of the game, the main antagonist who's your little sister's mother, imprisons Sinclair in a Big Daddy suit holding the key you need to escape. Having no other course of options you must kill Sinclair to get the key then listen to him die through your radio. Third in Grand Theft Auto 4, Playboy X recruits you to kill his best friend Dwayne. You can turn the tables by going against this but if you agree to off Dwayne for the substantial reward payout, you find him in his apartment where he doesn't even resist. Instead he claims: "You're just like all the others" before Niko looks away then plants a round in Dwayne's head. On a final note, any game where you can kill children I always feel is very distasteful. I have played through several: S.W.A.T. 2 on PC you play as either cops or terrorists in a isometric map moving around your characters like pawns on a chessboard. Kids are usually scattered as civilians. As cops you're supposed to escort them to the safe zone but if desired you can shoot them resulting in an avatar picture displayed with screaming of wounds. Even worse as the terrorist group Five Eyes you hold the kids hostage for negotiations or to abduct as a means of recruiting. Or you can shoot them without any penaltities. House of the Dead 2 in Arcades you lose a life if you hit a civilian but several of them are clearly kids and on the screen during segments. You can choose to shoot them if you're some kind of sadist or let the zombies do that for you. Star Wars Episode One: The Phantom Menace on PC there's a kid on Naboo you're supposed to bring back to his mother but you can kill him directly or let the droids shoot him. Also you can kill Anakin or the kids in the market on Tatooine. Prey on Xbox 360 there's an encounter with a boy and a girl where something possesses the girl then she brutally murders the boy by impaling him on a sharp pipe. Later you must fight the ghost of the girl as an enemy. Fallout 3 on Xbox 360, blow up Megaton and you incinerate Maggie and the Deputy's kid who's name I forgot. Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six on PC you find kid hostages you're supposed to rescue but can very easily shoot them ir throw grenades thus resulting in an immediate mission failure. Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six: Vegas, after rescuing the news reporter you find a mother cut off from her child and father from gunfire. If you do nothing the mother runs across this getting shit and dying but can choose to deliberately shoot the kid again resulting in an immediate game over. And finally in Bioshock and Bioshock 2, there's absorbing the Little Sisters for Adam. Sorry for the long post by the way.

            • Bioshock Infinite. There's that one soldier Booker knows from the old war. He's become addicted to the Shock Vigor, and it brutally disfigured him. That's not the guilty part. You are given the choice: shoot him in the head, or let him live. In the long run, your decision doesn't matter to the overall game. However, I was like, I'll be nice and let him live. Two chapters later you find him in a concentration camp, tortured to the point of complete insanity. I felt like utter shit then.

                  • The Witcher 3: When I let the tree spirit save the children. The weight of guilt and regret that I felt was palpable after seeing what my actions did to the village of Downwarren and the Baron's wife. I immediately reloaded an earlier save so I didn't feel like the worst person on the continent. Telling Triss that you aren't going to help her save the mages in Novigrad made me feel like the scum of the earth. What's worse is that she isn't even mad about it, just deeply hurt. The ending you get for being a bad father to Ciri is utterly heartbreaking. I couldn't even bring myself to get that ending; I was relegated to watching YouTube videos of it and it still made my heart hurt. I can only imagine how awful that would be to sit through after an entire playthrough of being a monster. That game gave me a serious case of the feels on numerous occasions.
