I'm sure there are people out there who are deadly with the Hunter's throwing knives. Maybe enough to call it an unfair advantage to be called a "one hit kill".. I get that, but is a blink strike a one hit kill? Almost always.. Is a shoulder charge a one hit kill?.. Most definitely. Flame shield?.. Yeah😒.. Then I start to pull my hair out and demand it to be a one hit kill.
I get the balance issues.. But let's take the Hunter for what it is.. Weaker than the other class by design. Uses its agility to traverse the battle field with stealth and quickness its strongest allies. The Hunter has not shield if any sort.. (If I'm wrong, please tell me so I can equip it as soon as possible) I'm not complaining 99% of the time.. I'm playing the damn game. I enjoy this game, I want it to be fun. But it's not fun when I'm trading with a Warlock in and out of cover and they already have a shield that I chew up (with my dis 43) plus a little chunk of their health bar.. I pop out of cover to throw a knife, it lands solid upper torso.. I wait.. No kill, fight still on. So I attack, I rush with almost full health turn the corner get only to be melee'd and turn into particles red matter.. It was a good time for a break anyways.
That happened about 25 minutes ago.. I mean.. Really?.. I'm throwing a foot long dagger that has to be calculated almost perfectly with the distance and elevation required to get a headshot.. I hope you guys care, it's not worth it to commit to throw the knives if you know they have no reward. It's the hardest melee to learn with the least benefit. That's not fun. Take another look at the gunslinger's throwing knives.. Thank you. Delta

1 ReplyEdited by Dauntess: 7/23/2016 10:17:19 AMI don't know why they nerfed it. I don't think it was possible to OHK. Even if it was "OP", according to destiny tracker, Gunslinger has the least amount of melee kills vs any other subclass in PvP and that includes the new 3 which have only been available for what? 10 months? Compared to almost 2 years of Gunslinger?

Knight is run, knight is run.
Yeah they should never have nerfed throwing knife.
2 RepliesEdited by Kryojenix: 7/23/2016 10:14:30 AM"Throwing knives are incredibly too weak" Since you already have the word incredibly, you don't need the word "too" as well. Since incredibly is already showing a drastic/considerable change. The more you know... *Cue rainbow*

7 RepliesFlame shield is not a one hit unless they're in their super...
-
Yes 141 dmg for a melee with good range is bad! Buff asap!!!
-
2 RepliesI feel like my Throwing knife has been replaced by a hot dog. It just bounces off people
-
If it was only the base damage nerf, but they nerfed the burn tick to 4. I would use knife juggler before, but with said base damage nerf I went with the burn just to be amazed for it was also nerfed (although I think it is across the board).

3 RepliesThrowing knives will take you down to crit if you're hit by one. And you can't complain when you got your god like trip mine blowing people up the entire match.
-
I noticed it's weakness today too. I don't play hunter a lot but when I was trying to complete the kill someone with knife bounty it was a little frustrating. Hitting someone in the head with a throwing knife doesn't kill them, even with the burn. I had to basically take down their shields or close to hit and score a headshot. Oh well.

4 RepliesEdited by Cheez_Lad: 7/23/2016 4:19:20 AM
Flame shield?.. Yeah😒
Only in super, not really comparable with shoulder charge, blink strike or throwing knives. Throwing Knives should be un-nerfed, but NEVER 1-hit kill, It would be way to easy given how much range they have.
-
The only issue I have with throwing knife is the time to ready-up your weapon again after throwing a knife... like I throw a knife before enemy walks round the corner, headshot, great only gotta pop a couple of rounds and..... oh I'm dead. It's even worse if you can already see each other when throwing the knife, almost always die first even if I land a knife headshot. :/ So decreasing the ready up time after throwing would fix it for me. I usually have to work in reverse and shoot a few rounds then end it with the knife, which I don't like :P

I can count on the fingers of one hand the number of times I've been handcannon-throwing knife combo'd. I honestly felt bad for Hunters reading those patch notes.
-
They're now just a finishing move. Do some damage then finish with a knife. http://xboxclips.com/QUADRASPAZZZZ/dd41f842-7fb3-437c-95ae-f1b305209fb2

My mains have been Titan and warlock and I never had a problem with throwing knives or trip mines. Kudos to the people who could use them properly.
-
honestly i think the throwing knives shouldnt have been touched because theres practically no aim assist not only that the knife isnt gonna fall you to the ends of the earth i mean im fine that they took away our tripmines because personally thats all people relied on was just that also i dont know what the warlocks are crying about we have the lowest HP in the game we only have speed on our side when they have self revive firebolt grenades axion darts flame shield stormtrance ridiculous long range melee and for the voidwalker class you can pretty much heal yourself through your super your grenades and melee so yea warlocks are so not broken im just saying as a hunter we should be allowed to have our knives do damage the knives was all we had left to defend ourselves from the warlocks and titans literally my knives use to save me so much from a self res warlock or a shoulder charging titan that only tries to do that just that

10 RepliesIt's the trade off for having the longest range of all melee attacks.

3 Repliesalso a flaming knife to the face is bound to leave a mark

4 RepliesYou know whats funny is i dont get the Nerf for Throwing knifes....i have never ever ran into a throwing knife user.... and if i did see one then he probably sucked ass and i have over 40 to 50 days alone on crucible...throwing knifes take the most skill to use in this game i dont get why people cry.

In pve, I would like to see a all around melee buff, all class & subclasses. They are weak imo

Swarm grenades are too weak too.

Yes Knives deserve a buff, but they useful. They aren't overpowered like Scorch, or Thunderstrike, or Shoulder Strike, but they take skill, and the other subs/Classes don't have that. Be thankful that you get to separate yourself from the crappy players.

Edited by SquattingTurtle: 7/23/2016 5:36:17 AMSame reasoning why i want warlocks to use more space magic. I think crits should do more damage.

I switched to sticky grenades

Blink Strike is only a ohk when using Backstab, and typically you have to be behind them, though lag attributes face with back sometimes. Using the Fast Twitch or (insert second ability name) just gives you cooldown on increased range and invisibility.
