1 ReplyYes, I strive to keep it at least positive which is impossible when you get 1.1-2.8 kd ration fir several matches then the "SBMM" decides to make you lag like you live in Africa and you get 2-4 matches with a .4 k/d ration and the whole time you are just screaming at the tv "what the -blam!-ing Christ is going on?!?!?!?"
-
No. Is nice to have a good kd cause 9 ouutta 10 times it was a fun game. But i choose fun over kd anyday.
-
No. Kd can be easily manipulated, so it is a bad indicator of how well I actually play

Edited by jloveless01: 7/23/2016 6:02:10 AMYes and no. No, because normally I just try to play and have fun. My highest is my warlock at .9. It has only been recently that I have been able to consistently go positive in PvP. Yes, because my personal k/d gives me a slight indication that I might be getting better. K/d on others matter to me, because I get some idea of how much better I want and need to get. Really my main goal is just to go positive in my matches.
-
Yes. Because it tells me how well I'm performing.
-
Not to me. Sad that people have actually deleted old characters just to drop off their old low KD rates so their number can be higher.
-
Not to me, but always seems to matter to others when they are trying to say how good they are and how bad I am. lol
-
Kd means nothing
-
It doesn't to me because u can have a crap k/d but you can have a good game and go on 15-kill streak
-
I do, but I only care what I think about it. I was very inexperienced in FPS when I first started playing and maintained a horrible k/d. So to watch it rise to a "respectable"ish level is a personal accomplishment. 1 year ago - .4 Now - .9 7 day -1.4

Yes and no. In a vacuum it does because when everything is equal it's prety good and something to take pride in (for a game). In this game however - and with all the backfills you get as a solo player - it's not an accurate represenation of ones abilties. I mean, if I play five matches I'm probably going to backfill atleast three of those. So you basically start at a deficit and more often than not in a rocket or super. Then you compare that to someone who always plays in a team and games from start. hence, you can't really compare two people without also looking at every other factor - and it renders the stats absolutely moot.

No, it's just a game
-
I have a decent kd but I don't check it daily or care if it drops.

I don't care about my K/D, seeing as 1) it is in a video game and doesn't represent anything outside of how much time I practice PvP, 2) it requires some luck to get (in CoD recently I had a 15.5 K/D and next game a .66) and 3) I prefer to play tactical game modes and play a support role covering friendlies, holding lines, and spraying while teammates reload, if I get a kill it is okay, if I don't it is okay. Frankly, I don't understand the obsession with K/D, and my best friend is extremely disappointed if he is below a 1.25 K/D, and seeing as he only started PvP in games 5 or 6 months ago, he is extremely sad when playing PvP. It is a useless statistic (also, there is an error in it's calculation (in my opinion)).

Could care less

k/d in this game is irrelevant the balance changes to drastically on a regular basis. If you were good in the AR meta likely your k/D took a hit because of reasons other than your performance. The same thing is true when they alter the subclasses just look at sunbreakers as a example. The supers are also another factor that makes k/d irrelevant because supers like nova bomb, smash and tether has almost no real counter player based on there AOE and how quick you can deploy them. The truth is the only reliable way to counter a super is hoping the person who uses it fks up. Seeing as all these things lead to lower k/d's and are pretty can't be dealt with reliably by players. (cant' really do something about a titan running around a corner and smashing) then we can bring in the connections and rebars and all the sht.

Like to keep above a 2 otherwise I feel like I'm trash apart from that I'm chill
-
2 RepliesI just want to win, sometimes a positive kd is just a byproduct... But I will sacrifice my body when I have to...attempting to win...
-
Yes and no. Yes because I'm pretty bad, so I enjoy the moments when I manage to go positive. But no because I don't sweat kd at all. Like, it doesnt mean a whole lot to me.
-
This was my first fps. So i came in doing terrible and it takes a while to come back up. So no it doesnt
-
I used to care, but I found myself getting salty over stupid things, so I just gave up with trying to be good at the game and just focus on having fun
-
A little bit, but not really.
-
Yes, yes it does.
-
Not when I play objective based game type, just wish other people would actually go play clash instead of control (no caps, just kills, and not even a good amount).
