Seriously, who at Bungie thought that putting defense on class items was a good idea?
I want to be able to wear any class item that I choose. The ghost angel cloak, shattered vault cloak, and kellhunter's hood all are amazing cloaks. They were perfectly fine without defense, Stat boosts, or anything like that.
Same goes for any y1 content. Why would you make y1 content irrelevant when your game is desperately needing more content.
Edit: Let's get this trending so that hopefully someone at Bungie will see this.
Edit: Woke up to over 200 notifications! Outstanding to see how many people feel the same way. And we're trending! To quote someone we all know and love "This is amazing!"

Amen. 🙏🏻

Bump, the more bungie changes, the more I hate this company. They are the antifun.

2 RepliesOne day SRL mark, I will wear you again... Even though I still have it!
-
They want as much grind as possible because they know it'll keep the addicts playing.
-
Just let us obtain those year 1 class items from packages, with year 2 defence values. Like the year one weapons that got brought back

What an attention whore

1 ReplyRemember the days when people used to complain about how useless class items were, because they didn't do anything?
-
Please let me wear my vault or ghost angel cloak again! They're way better than anything from year 2
-
Makeshift scarf till the day i die. I still have it in my vault. Along with ghost angel, aos cryptid and shattered vault

Skorris iron bond will forever be the best

I was upset that I had to delete several of my Hunter cloaks in my vault to make room for more crap. The only reason I deleted them at all because they're simply no longer relevant... I'm still keeping my Ghost Angel Cloak, it was the first legendary cloak I ever got and it holds a lot of memories for me. Bungie needs to make them relevant again. Give them stats for all I care. Just give them back.

I miss my Cryptid cloak. So unique and fierce!
-
Yes. A million times yes. I remember. I kept everything y1 raids and favorite armor and cloaks in my vault. Class items should be cosmetic only and should be in the same "class" / "grade" as shaders and emblems.

Grinders cloak I miss you, one day I'll wear you again

3 RepliesNow while I would like to see my Year 1 stuff become viable again, it would take a great deal of effort for Bungie to shuffle around all the perks on Year 1 armour for them to work in Year 2. For example, most Year 2 legendary boots have perks like this: Perk 1: Increase Stat/ Increase Stat Perk 2: Random Special Weapon Ammo Inventory Boost/ Random Heavy Weapon Ammo Inventory Boost Perk 3: Elemental Double Down Whereas most Year 1 legendary boots have perks like this: Perk 1: Random Primary Weapon Ammo Inventory Boost Do you see what I mean? Also, I'm kind of glad they added defence, perks and stats to class items. While I do wish I could wear my Shattered Vault Cloak, there are plenty of good Year 2 options. But the main reason I like this change is because class items functioned identically to all other armour, except they didn't have any defence, stats or perks. They had engrams, they had raid drops, they were purchasable at vendors for marks etc. When you used to get a legendary class item engram, you felt cheated, because that could have been that helmet you wanted, or if you got a class item from Ir Yût, you felt cheated, because that could have been an exotic instead of a useless class item, but in Year 2, you don't get that because class items now function the same as other armour. Sorry if that was a bit rambly, I'm tired.

Yes please.
-
Agreed, been saying this for ages. Class items should all just be cosmetic so people can use which ever ones they like in my view.
-
Remember when you had to wear a faction class item to progress in that faction? I do. It sucked. Let's not go back.
-
I think they did it because they don't want to value your past achievements. They also wanted to make your old class items redundant.

Yep, Bungie please bring back Ghost Angel/Starwinder for RoI 👍🏼

Couldn't agree more.

I am 100 percent certain that they see all of the drought posts. And they don't care. Year1 weapons specifically will never be relevant again because in bungie's mind, they are too powerful. Too many year 1 weapons (both exotic and legendary) had AMAZING perks and TTK. Apparently they want their game to be boring, with no variety, and a lower TTK. This is why year 1 weapons for the most part are not brought back. Armor however, this one makes no sense. Like you said, there were tons of incredible armor sets for y1. Makes no sense to not make at least the armor relevant. Or maybe, they just cant. They don't have the space for all that content in this game. If that were the case, why not just tell us?
