Package RNG can't be this bad
Hello destiny community, how's it going. I'm going to cut straight to the point here, I have gotten to a point at which I can no longer believe that I am just unlucky, or RNGesus is against me. I am not sure of the numbers exactly so I will give an approximation of how many packages I have opened, about 30-40 vanguard packages, and probably close to 80-90 crucible packages. I have yet to receive either a Longbow Synthesis, or an LDR 5001 from either, I have not even received a Zombie Apocalypse for that matter. There is a 1 in 22 chance in both the vanguard and crucible packages to get an LDR or Longbow. I gave up hope a long time ago but I can't believe that my RNG is that bad, curious if anyone else has this issue, or better yet if bungie can clarify if any of the guaranteed rewards have a greater drop rate because I swear It feels like I have gotten more armor pieces from packages then I have anywhere else.
Thanks for giving me your time, let me know if any of you are having this issue.
P.S. Please do not reply saying you have gotten "so many it's gotten annoying" or that "you have a bunch, but none have good rolls," that will only make people angry.

Something should change, last week I got warlock bonds from 4 packages IN A ROW!! I have yet to get an LDR but as the system stands right now I can see it taking at least 50+ hours of solid grinding to get one, I'm not sure I can justify it. I'm a PvP player, it sucks how the two snipers I want, either LDR or 1000 yard God roll only drop from pve. Longbow is over hyped IMO.

My guess would be certain things are "weighted" to drop more/less. It would still in a sense, be random, but other items (armor) might be programmed to have a higher drop percentage.

9 RepliesThe best way to "fix" this issue would be one of two options: 1: Players select an armor OR weapon package on rank up 2: Players given a choice between 3 rewards, and can examine the rolls on each. Similar to how some early game quest rewards work. Either of these would solve a vast majority of the communities issues with packages, while also allowing an element of RNG.

My friend is rank 100 something for both vanguard and crucible and still hasn't gotten either of the snipers. While myself on the other hand has both but my rank is only in the 60s

Yeah it seems like 9/10 rank up packages are armor, regardless of which faction or rep it is lol.

Sure, RNG can easily be that bad. Being unlucky is being unlucky. Like the way I can't get a FWC ship on either character that runs that faction, no matter how many ranks I go up. Simply because you've done a thing multiple times doesn't mean the odds stack up, it's the same odds every time.

I have only gotten a shadow price and a swarm from the vanguard packages and that was when that update first launched....after that not a single weapon of any kind....just armor and ships, but now I have all the ships and it seems I only get helmets from both....extremely discouraged I am....

I've opened about the same amount as you and still haven't gotten a Y2 Shadow Price, Longbow, or High Fixer to drop. Only one LDR, but luckily it had a great pve roll - makes up for never getting lucky enough to get one in Y1 I guess.

I love all my God roll long bows and ldr' for pve I run a shotgun in pvp and all I want is 2 to the morgue and it won't drop lol

As I get 7 longbows this week and I hate the sniper ALL OF THEM HAD SHORTGAZE AND SNAPSHOT JUST GIVE THE THE SATRINE RAPIER

I got longbow my 13 vanguard. It's so hard for me to level my ranks up but it's whatever

The way to go is if you're 335. To have a 330 fully leveled item in the slot you want. Since I did this I've gotten nonstop weapons.

I was worried about bad rng myself, but the last two crucible packages both gave me my first and second longbow. You just gotta keep going, and don't get your hopes up too high

Seriously I have never gotten a quickdraw ambush longbow thousand yard or ldr since ttk. It -blam!-ing pisses me off.
