Title says it all. The thing that took ages in king fall was all the jumping , and sadly if you had some who couldn't jump to save their life then all the jumping puzzles would take forever and the daughters would be a wipe every time it landed on said person. So please don't make the next one like that! I don't mind jumping puzzles but that daughter fight mechanic please leave it to rest.
Edit: I don't know what I expected. Forgot what the forums were like, silly me.
Edit 2: I think people are missing the point. The main gripe I have is that the daughter mechanic is random and if it lands on someone who can't jump then it's a wipe. Raids should be able team work and skill not a lottery on who can jump.
Edit 3:
I think that the issue is really with things being random. See, VoG had issues when bad randoms were teleported to do Oracles on Atheon. CE didn't have any random factors so it was generally stress free. King's Fall has random selection on Daughters which will sometimes be wipe city. So it isn't that jumping is the problem, but not being able to choose who jumps. That, and the fact that everyone needs to know how to do every part of the raid.
This is what I was trying to say but failed, thank you Keinamaru

If you can't jump by know then you shouldn't be playing.

Completely agree, it's a FPS - not a FPPlatformer.

20 Repliesyeah. that's pretty much why i quit running this raid. it's not really that much fun anyway. I have zero problems with the ships/wall. but the platform jumping at daughters, i just am not good. practice , you say. how? you fall and you instantly get kicked from raid. happened numerous times. not much practice to be had there. it's not something you can go practice by yourself - cause there's nowhere else in this game that mechanic shows up (screen goes all black and white, jumping platforms while watching a timer). it got to the point that i would join raids. when we got to the daughters, i'd say something like, hey, something came up and i got to leave. after doing this numerous times. i kinda asked myself why am i even bothering with this. haven't touched the raid since December.

2 RepliesEdited by SGTBrownT: 7/15/2016 11:42:18 PMAfter 2 years, there are people who still can't run relic, navigate the gorgan maze, or make the jumps on VoG. After 2 years, there are people who still can't run sword, navigate the lantern maze, or hold plates on sword bearer without cheesing, in crota. All because they aren't forced to know how to, and can be carried.
if you can't do a game mechanic, get better at it or don't play the event

raid rewards require work and should not be handed to you for spawning in
Muted

Edited by Zoey: 7/16/2016 12:52:34 AMOr you can learn to jump, why would you belong in end-game if you can't jump...
-
8 RepliesI too hate being challenged in any form or manner.

It's not the developer's fault players couldn't suck it up and learn the mechanics. If you can't do it, you don't do it. Not elitist at all, just logical.
-
3 RepliesOnly warlock mains see this as a problem...
-
Wait this is a serious post? lol
-
You can waste all day doing the puzzles with 'people' that suck or you can spend all day trying to kill a boss with 'people' that suck. See what I'm getting at here? It's player defendant. Not jump dependent.
-
If you can't jump you shouldn't get the loot
-
I like the randomness in the raids, it creates a sense of Individual responsibility. Removing randomness caters to laziness in my opinion. The raids should keep you on your toes. Similar to trials where in most cases every player has to pull there own weight
-
Please do make them jump dependent, jumping is one of the few outlets Destiny has as far as complex mechanics are concerned. Random selection, although painful at times, is still good. It keeps people on their toes as they always have to bear in mind that they could be chosen. Sister's only a pain because in HM it auto starts. Jumping puzzles are fun and should continue.

3 RepliesRig the lottery. Aka Teach people how to jump.

Edited by Zarahi Sunstrider: 7/15/2016 11:10:50 PMIt's amazing how many people suck at pressing X or A.

Don't randomize the people for relics.

Agreed. What was cool in vog and crota was if someone wasn't quite up to speed, they could still participate with better players picking up the slack In kf, everyone has to do everything all the time. Especially the daughters. Why not just let us choose who gets the smokey. Personally, I enjoy jumping at daughters and always say.. pick me pick me lol But it's a team fun wrecker when it turns into wipe city for those having trouble with the jump
-
Jumping in vog was the same, easy once someone actually guides ypu through. The real time sink in KF is the totems
-
I'm indifferent to the jumping puzzles but anything moving toward needs to offer the ability to drag people who can't/won't jump.
-
3 RepliesI also have a tough time dealing with Destiny jump puzzles. Right now I'm stuck on the scent of thrall fragment because of my parkour inability. Jump puzzles do not add value or fun to Destiny in my opinion. Bungie really should add alternative non jump routes to all destinations.

Go to the Dreadnaught, the Breach. After you land on the Dreadnaught, there is an area to the left with platforms that you can jump on. Go to Venus, the Citadel. There are many platforms there. The goal: jump on the platforms without touching the ground while the adds are shooting at you. Don't die, it will give you confidence on your jumping ability so the next time you do the raid, tell yourself " I've got this".

Edited by Mystic Knight: 7/15/2016 10:10:12 PMI actually like the jumping puzzles. The daughters fight is perfect also otherwise u would have the same person jumping everytime and half of the people would never jump
