Title says it all. The thing that took ages in king fall was all the jumping , and sadly if you had some who couldn't jump to save their life then all the jumping puzzles would take forever and the daughters would be a wipe every time it landed on said person. So please don't make the next one like that! I don't mind jumping puzzles but that daughter fight mechanic please leave it to rest.
Edit: I don't know what I expected. Forgot what the forums were like, silly me.
Edit 2: I think people are missing the point. The main gripe I have is that the daughter mechanic is random and if it lands on someone who can't jump then it's a wipe. Raids should be able team work and skill not a lottery on who can jump.
Edit 3:
I think that the issue is really with things being random. See, VoG had issues when bad randoms were teleported to do Oracles on Atheon. CE didn't have any random factors so it was generally stress free. King's Fall has random selection on Daughters which will sometimes be wipe city. So it isn't that jumping is the problem, but not being able to choose who jumps. That, and the fact that everyone needs to know how to do every part of the raid.
This is what I was trying to say but failed, thank you Keinamaru

Edited by TheyThimble: 7/17/2016 12:05:36 AMI know, right?! It's almost like you have to be skilled! It's bonkers!
Please stop playing Destiny if you cannot do simple platforming.
Edited by Spooky Doggo: 7/17/2016 12:01:20 AMMy god just go play the Division or some other game where you can't jump. Platforming is a blessing

I like the jumping mechanics, CR wasn't stress free the glitches were maddening in the beginning. I struggled with the sisters I caused so many wipes because I fluffed the orb smash. The raids are designed to push people to the limits , CR was a failure as a raid because players could solo it. Jumping puzzles and mechanics are the magic ingredient that makes a raid good . I am sure that the majority of raiding guardians would say that Vog, kings fall are the best raids in that order. I personally don't want to complete a raid using raw firepower alone, I want it to give me a range of emotions while playing it and a unforgettable team effort.

10 Repliesevery person in the raid should be able to perform every task in said raid. if not then they do not belong there.

6 RepliesWhy do people want everything to be easy and handed to them? What happened to the challenge aspect? Imo thats the best part, having to overcome a hard challenge and figure out the mechanics. Then when you do its much more rewarding. Its suppose to be the hardest content in the game but people are crying over shit thats actually not that hard. If someone cant do it, quit being a piece of shit who gets mad and take the time to help them its not hard. Everyone struggles at one point or another and had someone to give them tips but when its the other way around most people bitch and complain instead of help. Fuhk making things easier, make them HARDER!!!!!

I don't find the jump mechanics that bad, but when the majority of the raid features jumping puzzles AND incorporates them in to a boss fight it isn't enjoyable, not because it's challenging but because it isn't fun, it's not surprising and the entire oryx boss fight isnt a boss fight, it's just a jumping puzzle. Killing oryx in the story was way more fun than in the raid in my opinion.

Edited by Fourteen 88: 7/16/2016 9:15:35 PMPeople are going to struggle regardless what the challenge is. Randoms are bad at everything. If a raid boss died by staring at it a group of randoms would still manage to cause team wipes.

Hahaha... get this guy

Or just learn how to jump

2 RepliesSo this is what it's come to. Learning how to jump is too OP.
So it isn't that jumping is the problem, but not being able to choose who jumps. That, and the fact that everyone needs to know how to do every part of the raid.
Then thing is. Having to know every part of a raid is not the problem. You can not be good at jumping. That's understandable. Jumping puzzles may not be everybody's thing. But not knowing every part of the raid is either. 1. Bad Team placement 2. Laziness Instead of keeping the same formula with everybody in the same place. Rotate it. Make sure everybody knows what to do. As players of a video game that requires common knowledge of how to do certain tasks. When I raid I make sure to show people who do not know how to do "X" part. And I give them a couple tries so they get the hang of it because You should ALWAYS be prepared for random placements in these situations. I personally hated the CE mechanics. "Alright. We only need one person to know what to do he will be sword. Everybody else hide in a spot nobody can shoot you and fire rockets at the BIGGEST TARGET ON THE MAP" While I do think the jumping puzzles could be removed for more brain challenging puzzles.
for example. The Golgoroth maze chest puzzle is great! I still lose track of them all occasionally!
I do disagree with your statement that knowing how to do every part of the raid is a problem.

2 RepliesI hope the next raid is just a jumping puzzle/battle arena. Imagine trying to fight off hordes of enemies while navigating the dick-pistons area. Heck yes.
-
That was the most annoying part of King's Fall. Some of the people I played with were just stupid. I did hard mode on my Hunter at 308 and one guy was skeptical and wanted someone else. A friend vouched for me and the group followed because I hadn't fcked up. But one person at 318 had trouble the entire way. The jumping puzzles took us four hours altogether. Oryx (my first go at hard mode Oryx) took two hours because he kept forgetting his knight or couldn't kill it and I would have to pick up the slack. He was also the second Defender Titan and kept killing himself with the Touch of Malice Some people really just need to learn to use their brain.

Edited by Mr Kenno: 7/16/2016 10:21:35 AMIf you cant jump then you suck Like seriously if you can't jump in a game where jumping is a mechanic since the game started you should give up
-
1 ReplyThis is what I read;
okay, bungie, take all of that three-dimensional space you're using for the next raid, throw it away, and let us do nothing but sprint around the entire time because I can't platform to save my life, even though all of the classes have jumps that make this game a breeze to platform in. I don't want to hold my team back because I somehow suck at jumping in a video game.
Anybody else read what I read?
-
Are you serious? Most of the game involves jumping or sliding to get away from someone. You're telling me you can't jump on a ship or platform? Then you just much really suck at the game.
-
11 RepliesIf you've ever played a game with actual raiding, you'd understand how much of a joke this looks like. A raid is supposed to be a tight, intense, coordinated effort of everyone in your party. Go do some 25-40 man raiding in old WoW, Rift or, especially, Wildstar and then come back here and tell us how Destiny's 6 man strikes should be made more casual. Please
-
whats next please don't make the next raid dependant on shooting things in the face
-
2 RepliesI'd like more special weapons other than sniper rifles to be viable against bosses. The raid is pretty much finalised already, anyway.
-
I jump fine but the jumping bullshit feels boring and drawn out. The Megaman type disappearing ships the Dick museum all sucked. Not hard just stupid in a shooter.
-
Don't make the next raid dependent on counter clockwise

Edited by Captain Zune: 7/16/2016 1:45:05 PMWait, Destiny? Thought this was Super Mario bros Online.

Jumping puzzles are the best bit of the raids.
-
If you cannot master the most common thing in Destiny which is jumping. You are not worthy.

5 Repliesthe real problem is that with every fight but warpriest there is literally 0 room for error during any part of any of the fights in kings fall. the crota fight had this same problem and was the worst part of the raid because of it. i mean i am fine with requiring very well timed execution for a boss, i mean c'mon, asking 6 people (not all of which may have 0 lag, 0 technical issues, or 0 distractions) to flawless execute a annoyingly long sequence of events 2 - 5 times without the slightly issue on any of the phases or its a page 1 rewrite of the whole encounter is a bit much.

I think some one struggles with jumping puzzles...hmmm
