Title says it all. The thing that took ages in king fall was all the jumping , and sadly if you had some who couldn't jump to save their life then all the jumping puzzles would take forever and the daughters would be a wipe every time it landed on said person. So please don't make the next one like that! I don't mind jumping puzzles but that daughter fight mechanic please leave it to rest.
Edit: I don't know what I expected. Forgot what the forums were like, silly me.
Edit 2: I think people are missing the point. The main gripe I have is that the daughter mechanic is random and if it lands on someone who can't jump then it's a wipe. Raids should be able team work and skill not a lottery on who can jump.
Edit 3:
I think that the issue is really with things being random. See, VoG had issues when bad randoms were teleported to do Oracles on Atheon. CE didn't have any random factors so it was generally stress free. King's Fall has random selection on Daughters which will sometimes be wipe city. So it isn't that jumping is the problem, but not being able to choose who jumps. That, and the fact that everyone needs to know how to do every part of the raid.
This is what I was trying to say but failed, thank you Keinamaru

You have this backwards. EVERY raid boss should have a complicated roll that us either randomly assigned or required of all. No game designer should ever assume that a portion of a group is useless and just to be carried. If you can't handle every mechanic then you shouldn't be in a raid.
-
I love jump puzzles but sometimes when I raid other people are so bad at it that they have to leave and rejoin once it's over, although I like what they did in kings fall where not everyone has to make it, just hit a cp and they get teleported

This is the 3rd edited version of a post I saw yesterday

11 RepliesId prefer a raid where we actually FIGHT things instead of solve repeatable six man puzzles where we dont actually do the damage and "fights" center around repeatable actions in a sequence witb some of the weakest fights ive ever seen (oh no, acolytes! Quick! Stand behing this box and shoot down the hallway they all run down"

Go back to VOG and get the checkpoint after the Gorgons with the disappearing platforms, practice your jumping there and watch YouTube videos on the mechanics of the raids. The information is there for you to use
-
I'm with you, -blam!- the trolls. Loved all the bosses in KF, but those jumping parts are a bitch. Doable, but a bitch.
-
1 ReplyPlease dont make the next raid.
-
Agree. Too much jumping.
-
3 RepliesBungie, please make the next Reid have a boss encounter where the floor is lava. Thank you.
-
5 RepliesI agree . This is a FPS game not Mario brothers. Lazy bungie cant come up with something better? VOG is the best raid!
-
4 RepliesIt's because your raid team are all white people. We all know white men can't jump.
-
"Oh no, something is too hard, please make it easier for everyone!" That's what this sounds like. Whilst I don't like the idea that Kings Fall puts a lot of pressure on an individual to do their job, the jumping tasks are relatively easy and ANY of the classes can make the jumps. As with everything, it just takes practice.
-
You see being forced to do daughters and repeatedly doing the jump puzzles has made me a much better player. In the past I might have shyed away from running relic or similar but not anymore. I am thankful I was taken out of my safe place and am better for it.
-
1 ReplyI just hope that Bungie manages to create new mechanics for the next raid. Not only for the boss fights but also for the journeys between the fights We've had dark paths with hidden holes We've have jumping puzzles with disappearing platforms I want something which will involve team work and the whole group having to run together not half the team speed running and then complaining while waiting for the rest
-
3 RepliesI want it to be Sparrow dependant. I want a Sparrow chase sequence.
-
7 RepliesI have to disagree, if someone can't platform are they really worth having on a raid team to begin with?
-
Im against this. In vault one oerson would hold relics. I like on daughters how it almost makes you learn it. Like most I didn't want to do it but I got it on my second try. Got orxy on my first run. I had better success with those them the jumping puzzles. Id rather them kill the puzzles b4 the random relic runners.
-
know how to solve that? let the person that can't run the relic, run the fcuking relic! and stfu and stop giving people such a hard time that theyre so scared of getting kicked or failing the team that they would rather just literally jump off a cliff instead of learning the mechanics stop just automatically wiping how else are they going to learn? everyone wants to be the hero lol it's nothing new if there weren't at least 4 people in the group that could get the relic in VoG at Atheon it caused a lot of problems because there was a good chance that a whole group would get sent into the portal and none of them could run the relic. they made it a little harder this time, now pretty much everyone has to know the mechanics take the 10 minutes and let them learn in a low pressure environment and people will surprise you sometimes

I think that the issue is really with things being random.
You obviously don't understand what the word random means. Hell, if Bungie had left the Cutters as random you'd of shit bricks and had a complete meltdown. Frankly, I was sad when I learned it was changed. ONE part is "random" and you bitch because people who aren't good at being Torn at daughters get selected? There's a fix for that: take the time and teach them. That's what my friends and I do. Sure, we don't get past it RIGHT EFFING NOW, but we do get past it and later when that person is Torn, they know what to do and do it effortlessly. You, sir, are the problem, not the people who "ain't gud". Once upon a time we's was all newbish. Now, GET OFF MY LAWN!
-
I have a feeling that the next raid is very jump dependant. Basically for the ones that cant jump..... go practice
-
Please don't make the next raid "brain dependant"
-
Yeah, how DARE the game require competent motor function to complete the proclaimed "most challenging" part of Destiny. How DARE this shooter provide more gameplay than just guns that go bang, and the minimal skill it takes to aim them. What an asinine thing for a video game to do.
-
This is why I like KF as a raid. It requires everyone to learn all roles. I laugh at how the Aegis and Sword are Grimore unlocks and so many people do not have these unlocked from VoG and Crota. Crota required 1 good player to beat. VoG needs 3 good players. KF needs 5 or 6. See why we laugh at these dumb posts. Get good and practice. Stop expecting to be carried.
-
Platforming is not that hard. I don't understand why some people just can't get it in their heads, you jump where the ship will be, not where it currently is! I know you have no trouble with platforming, but it just bothers me that people can't understand a simple concept such as this...

Edited by TheyThimble: 7/17/2016 12:05:36 AMI know, right?! It's almost like you have to be skilled! It's bonkers!
Please stop playing Destiny if you cannot do simple platforming.
