Trials Of Osiris, was a place for teams to compete in elimination against other teams to try and get prizes and 9-0 cards. Where honestly people had a chance to win with a decent amount of skill. People would team up and work together and no quit. Now it's turned into nothing but Twitch streamers carrying, lack of SBMM or CBMM, and breeds an insurmountable amount of hate and hostility towards each other as players. The numbers don't lie there has been a significant drop in new people making it to the light house. It's a consistent same "Sweaties/tryhards" who smash anyone in their path to make it to the lighthouse and then continue to do it for fun. You have people PAYING MONEY to get carried to the light house cause it's so hard to do now with the way it's set up. Year 2 trials is an absolute horrid monster and needs to be slain. Now with this Destiny Trials Reports people are being SHUNNED by others for ELO and stats, and you, Bungie!, who nerfed Gjallarhorn because you didn't like the divide in the community have SHOWCASED this cancer that destroys the community more than anything else you've done to the game has. Trials is no longer fun. It's no longer a challenge. It's a horrible slog that it near impossible to reach the end. SBMM/CBMM is non existent factor that should be implemented as players who have struggled to get where they are go against people who have a breeze to get to the same win and then the players who struggled are knocked back down to peg one to start over or get lagged out. Trials is no longer a friendly community rivalry game mode but a place where people can make money? It's corrupt and breeds hate amongst player base. The top stay at the top while the bottom cannot move up at all. Please fix trials. Go back to Year 1 or make a better formula. Trials is not where you want it to be, and you cannot let it get worse. Please fix Trials.
EDIT: Wasn't aware that SBMM wasn't included in Trials. Which is kinda of dumb as again being a team who struggled to get to 5 wins playing against a team who had a breeze getting to 5 wins is still bad.
EDIT 2: Not attacking streamers who stream the game, moreso streamers who get paid to carry/carry in general. You're ruining the game mode even more by carrying.
EDIT 3: A bracketed rank would be more than ideal as that's how pretty much every other shooter does with their "competitive" game modes, thank you to people in the comments posting their ideas, I appreciate it a lot. And to the people who are against this, all I have to say is "why?" Why would you be against more players having a chance? What's wrong with that? If you're good now, that's not going to change. It'll still be "hard" as you claim it should be. It'll just be a more personalized challenged to you and your team. So why are you against it? You say you're amazing and that it's supposed to be hard and challenging and "not meant for everybody" but how is it hard when you face a lot of teams not even close to you? Scared that when push comes to shove you'll fold? Just wondering tbh...
EDIT 4: Never said I personally could not make it to 5 wins. That was used as an example as to why the playing against someone with the same wins isn't as fair as you'd think. And by the way, artificial difficulty, isn't a challenege. It isn't competitive, it's something you're making up to be hard to justify it. Again there is NO reason you should be against changing trials for everyone. The game is 2 years old with the final expansion on its way. It's not a hardcore game in any sense of the word, just let everyone have a chance to get to the light house, and as someone commented below "the real scrubs will fail regardless". Also btw, saying that its supposed to be hard and not for everyone, but then saying carries are okay, should probably leave the post cause you're being very hypocritical. Also this "practice practice practice" mentality isn't always the answer. If you can't even have a chance to put what you've learned to the test and see where you went wrong, Again there is absolutely NO REASON for you to be against this. Even if you don't like SBMM then even CBMM would be better.
EDIT 5: Forget to mention something. The current meta, i.e HROF Pulses or Autos/Snipers for the most part. Before in Trials, I could use almost any weapon I wanted to as long as it wasn't complete trash, Suros, Red Death, maybe an Invective for fun. Maybe a slow hand cannon with high impact, you get where I'm going with this. You could have weapon diversity and again, compete. You're competing with other people with YOUR personal favorite guns and set up. But now it's the same everywhere. The meta is also currently killing trials slowly, what happened to really testing your mettle with the weapons and set up you bonded with? Why does the new meta have to be the new meta. Is your chant of "git gud" also "get the same weapons everyone else is using" ? This isnt' going away for three days straight this post has gotten attention from a LOT of people. Keep replying for or against, whatever. This WILL get noticed by Bungie, and WE WILL as a COMMUNITY seek changes.

Are you listening bungie......? Are you willing to step in and save trials. Are you willing to give us even an incling of hope that there is plans in the works or that you are even considering other options. Or are you going to continue to let it rot until Roi comes out and hope this goes away. Surely you guys at bungie feel our pain can see the same stuff we do, get frustrated playing like we do, are sick of trials like we are. Please listen to some of the ideas from both sides of the argument and let us know if anything sounds good or viable we do not expect promises. ✌

This is trending for 3 days now! Im not suprised at all, but it confirms how much trials affects, in a negative way, so many players in this game. Also there is something not mentioned about streamers, wich is the thousands of viewers they have all weekends while playing trials. This is a "free" advertising for bungie and a big income for streamers, wich make both happy with things like they are. So,as i agree with all who said trials are broken and something should be done asap, i dont think bungie has insterest in doing so. And if changes come, they will be like so minimal that we barely notice. i.e. sniper and last word "nerfs", everyone was complaining about snipers and TLW ruining/dominating the crucible so bungie did nerf them, but not enough to broke any of them. This makes all streamers pretty happy because 90% of them still use both! a And complainers stop complaining because bungie did something about it. Cheers

Easy fix is when you get to the LH you are done with trials for the weekend on that character. Keep it where you can compete in regular elimination matches after that. This way more people can make it and it eliminates people just going in to elo farm and ruin other people's flawless runs.

7 RepliesYour missing a few points. Year one trials aloud people to get a couple of wins. If going well then take your boons. Now this set up results in having to burn all 9 coins and boons right form the off. Not thought process behind that at all. If your first game is a bogey, then the whole card and boons are lost. Those that don't know year one work like this. Find a team, then go to trials. If you get 3 wins on the bounce, you got a good team. Take the mercy. When you hit six wins you take the other two so you only have to win that last one game. With SBMM not included in trials. How are the games matched? It's not on connection. Never had a game where a total of 6 players on a small map lags so hard. It's not on wins on card. I know this because several times over this wkend. We have had a sweaty first game lost out 4-5, for the other team to claim the ultimate victory! Year one you knew from what I said before you was going against people on your win. So like a knock out. And the use of the boons made it so you could bypass those on 7-8 wins right at the end. Instead of using it to get 3 up on your first card.

2 RepliesEdited by Kai up of tea: 7/6/2016 5:41:47 AMI personally think that making trails easier ruins the point of it, and the satisfaction of going flawless. For people who are after the gear, making it easy to obtain the gear takes away the prestigious image of it. I'm pretty boastful about my full Pariah, and had a lot of fun getting it, but I envy the talent that went into people who have full raid gear and the shader as I'm god awful at PvE. I suck so bad at PvE that I gave up trying to get some of the Strike exclusive armour. Because of my incompetence, my clan and I struck a deal. I help carry through trails if they tolerate me in raids. To date I haven't lived through a single Oryx. I'm always the dead guy. I think It's cool that there are exclusive drops according to content. Would be pretty lame if they cheapened my gear to make things easy for others. If anything, I'm up for it being harder, challenge accepted. But making it easier just makes everybody the same. We all have our strengths and weaknesses. Edit: Spelling.

1 ReplyEdited by OliveMussel4985: 7/7/2016 2:38:58 AMThe last few weeks have been horrible. Not sure what bungie did to matchmaking but since pantheon it has been dumb. I do agree that bungie needs to do something about paid carries. Personally, I would issue a warning that it is against the terms and conditions ( the one we all agree to every time we have a major update). Then, that following weekend, I would respond to every paid carry post, pay them, ban them, then sue the top 5 that profited the most. I promise it would fix that issue for good....

You comment got so many likes Man I hope this gets recognized

3 RepliesRemove special ammo and streamers won't know what to do. If you hit 9 and 0 all your characters should only be playing others that have hit it too. Streamers complaining about sbmm hate the ideas because they want easy carries. They are ruining this game.
-
1 ReplyI personally agree with many angles of this argument. I have posted discussions before on this subject. I would never want to see trials become "easy" for everyone. It should be a challenge. I also believe that the elite players should have something to show their accomplishments. But I also do think the lighthouse should be obtainable. And no, people shouldn't feel they have to pay someone to carry them there. We have all payed for this game and it's content already. Shouldn't have to pay a 3rd party to gain access to the content already paid for. I still think that 9 wins should get the lighthouse. That means a 9-2 card gets you there. I would like to see some kind of SBMM/CBMM combonation. However, if you get to 6-0, let it go to a card match making for a chance at flawless. If you get a loss on the card at that point, you go back to SBMM/CBMM and try for 9 wins. If you complete flawless, you get an extra loot drop like a hm challenge in raid. Also may get flawless exclusive emblems and shades to identify those who are the best. Yes, you will still have people looking for carries to get those items. But I am betting it would be a lot fewer. This is just my opinion. I kind of think something along these lines would be a good compromise. It would still be a huge challenge to get 9 wins, even in your own skill bracket. So it wouldn't be easy but obtainable.

1 ReplyTrials isn't broken. Stats and elo don't win games. This weekend I did a card and I faced three teams with KD's that were all above 1.8 , and even in the high 2s. I have a 1.45 , was playing with two other teammates (1.45, 1.20) and we managed to win every match of that card. It's because we communicated, played together and even made some crazy comebacks. We stood no chance statistically but still won, and had a ton of fun doing it. Idk if you can check my recent trials matches but if you don't believe me go ahead. Sweaty matches happen all the time now but if your team is on, and there's is off, don't think just because the other team has crazy kd's and elo, you can't win. I'm not a top tier player by any means, and I rarely if ever play with players that are better than me (not purposely, all of my friends just happen to be worse than me). Don't worry about people getting carries, just worry about your team having fun, and doing your best and you'll surprised with the matches you win. Anyway if those people that are doing carries weren't helping lower tier players, they'd be playing with other great players and just pub stomping, so I wouldn't complain too much about that either. It's only an advantage to you that they're carrying.

TLDR- I'm salty as -blam!-

Trials is tough for the casual player. It's hard to find a team and the ass whooping a you normally get leave you with a feeling of why even bother. I play until my bounties are complete. Receive my shitty relic or whatever I rng and move on. It's crazy how few people are looking for a bounty run anymore. You'll be lucky to see 4 people on lfg. 99% of people are going full try hard only looking to go flawless. What were left with is most people I talk to not even wanting to put themselves through the horror of ToO. So of course the game mode feels less and less forgiving. It gets more and more sweaty as each week passes as only the hardcore are staying. Bungie can put in sbmm or whatever they want it at this point it would make no difference. Unless they make the lighthouse grindable more and more casuals are not even going to waste their time anymore.
-
2 RepliesTrials should be a one time deal each week, if you get to the lighthouse that's it your done locked out Reasons for this how many times has your run be ruined by 2 great players carrying someone ??? It's meant as competitive but by the end it's full of carries which means the skill level in which your being match made with are probable in most cases of a higher skill level than yourself....I know I know get good scrub but in all honesty I can't be the only one who thinks like this Trials happens every week so why not make it you get there your locked out till next week

1 ReplySorry but what is sbmm and cbmm
-
There's only one solution, make PVP like Year 1 again. Not the meta where TLW and Thorn reigned supreme though.

Edited by BlackReign: 7/6/2016 10:13:58 PMPassage coins should be more plentiful like they were in year one. The daily should give you three like it used to and they should drop in random amounts like they used to as match rewards. Not really sure why they nerfed it to only giving one for the daily. It's almost like they don't want people to play it. The matchmaking for trials should go back to year one as well. I prefer year two matching based on wins but it might be a little to stringent for players that aren't high level. These adjustments would probably encourage more people to play it.

Edited by Fury: 7/6/2016 10:11:31 PMI switched from COD to Destiny PVP around November of 2015. My first attempts at trials were absolutely awful. I COULD NOT GET A KILL. SO what did I do? 1- Went to youtube: vids by guys like TruVanguard really helped. 2- Started a twitch account and began to watch and learn via real time game play. 3 - won some raffles, met some new friends. *Shoutout to MAV000, ErnieVilla69, and Jkeggy (others too) for their patience. 4 - WORKED my A$$ off learning how to use multiple kinds of weapons (sorry, I love my HROF autos) My stats shot through the roof and my win ratio increased within a couple of months simply by watching, reading, and playing with -and against- the best of the best. I have been flawless 41 times because of the generosity of people who share their knowledge publicly and the time I invested to learn. I think the only people that "will never make it" are the ones who are not blessed with the game time needed improvement requires. And you know what, thats ok. Sorry, Im one of the people who think participation trophies are a bad influence...

2 RepliesEdited by x Up North Trip: 7/6/2016 8:53:31 PMI tired Trials once, 1st game was against someone trying to boot us and he ended up booting his 2 teammates, second game we got booted back to orbit by another player, 3rd try the same happened, after that I couldn't be bothered playing ToO. It's not worth it.
-
4 RepliesTrials isn't meant for everyone. If you're a casual player then don't complain. Just do your bounties and move on. The lighthouse is meant to be a place for a select few.
-
Trials is fine. It's taken me a long time to get good at it but now I go flawless most weekends I play and I don't have a high KD. Learn the maps, know your team. It's suppose to be hard, if it was easy I wouldn't play.
