I'm usually a zone capper... one of the best. I took this morning and decided to play like 90% of the other players and just worry about K/D without having a single care or concern about zones.
Well... I lost 12 out of 15 games. This just goes to show you people how valuable a capping player can be. My K/D was phenomenal... but we lost almost every game.
If only players played the objective and stopped being such ego douches, perhaps the feeling of victory may come by more often.
Hard proof now that I carry most of my games when I'm aggressively capping.
You're welcome

I've just moved from the 360 to the one and i can not believe the difference in control and rift... idiot's in control must think the capture point will give them space aids or somethin, it's unbelievably selfish.. people dont play control if you're not goimg to do the objectives.. you ruin my experience you gang of rat droppings...

Something interesting is dat retards don't do the objective. Instead they -blam!-ing camp like pussies . Lost all rift and salvage matches thanks to it

Capture and defend those zones. This is what makes IB control pretty rough nowadays. Many people go for kills instead of capturing and defending the zones. In a couple of IB control matches in the past, I went a 0.40- KD(go ahead and laugh about that), but got like 10+ caps and did a lot of defense. It was rough and most of those matches we (I) lost. What makes it funny is that my teammates in most of those matches were so butthurt about me not going positive and sent me messages saying "Ur garbage, Lol that KD, etc". I replied: "I was doing the objective role and couldn't defend the zones myself. You morons were soo concern about your KDs is the reason why we lost. This isn't clash, *insert hurtful sentence*." Yes, keep controlling and defending those zones. Only go for carnage if you have at least 2 zones capped.

I like capping because it makes all the enemies come to me, it gets really exciting during the constant 3v1's. And people think my K/D is low, LOL.
-
Congrats. You sure proved them wrong

4 RepliesThis is true I can cap A and then head for C and well be winning Eventually someone realize what I'm doing and follow my example But then it's those games were we have both 2 out the 3 zones and we will lose cause my team got outgunned
-
I play the objective. Sometimes I can have most caps and best around. It's possible to be slayer and capper simultaneously imo.

Capping is very important and I wish people did it more. As far as the other comments go about capturing all 3 zones to flip the spawns. You should only flip spawns if you feel like your playing with a team of gods who can turn right back around and kill the team all over again on the opposite side of the map. Almost every time my team flips spawns (on like pantheon) they end up getting blindsided and ran over by the other team. I usually push to cap B and I'll fall back to try and keep the 2-1 zone advantage for my team if i have to. If I feel like my team is doing really good or the other team is just camping I'll push for the 3rd zone and let my team runaway with the victory.

If you can't do both, then it's no good though. The problem I usually have with playing with randoms isn't that they don't cap, but they don't cap and also end up going double negative somehow. Also, if your K/D was that good, then it was your teammates' fault, not yours. Even though you didn't cap as much, you still got your team a ton of points, and by not dying, also denying the enemy team of theirs. Both kills and caps are important if you want to reliably win, but the way control works, you can win without any caps, but you cannot win without any kills.

3 RepliesEver played control on vertigo? Camp at the portal with a sniper and you've locked down a and c
-
2 RepliesThere is simple rule: If you can't capture zones, then kill more often than opposite team.
-
One time I was playing salvage and my teammate walked right past me as I was capturing the relic, he then proceeds to die leading to my death as well, some people are just too obsessed with their kd

PTFO!!!

Saw the title and thought this was a new Husky Raid dance video.... but I get what you're driving at.

2 RepliesPeople who care about their KDR are trash either way. You can have a 20.0 KDR but if your W/L is trash then so are you. End. Story.
-
I would argue it's all about the fine balance between capping and killing but you'd just slap me.
-
You kind of have to take it based on the situation. If all you're doing is capping points, you lose. If your team has 2 points, don't chase a third. If no one on your team is capping, you're going to have a bad time. If everyone is capping, you're going to have a bad time.

Wait Control has an objective?
-
It's because there's absolutely zero reason to win. The only thing the player actually earns in crucible is individual stats. Took us quite a while to get to this point. But here we are. Only reason to actually win games is in trials and IB. And even then it's marginal in comparison to individual stats. Not saying I agree with all that mess. Just sayin.

There's very little difference between winning a game a losing a game in Destiny!

4 RepliesWhat does zone capping mean?

Same thing with Skirmish, I hate getting matched up with people that run away from you right as that timer hits :01. It takes some serious legwork to win those matches.
