Bungie needs to add some sort of penalty for not playing objectives in those types of game modes. It's what they're there for. When I say penalty, I mean like in game salvage mode penalty. Like maybe a point deduction. I don't mean like a ban or something.

Salvage sux
-
4 RepliesThe penalty comes to those who "play the objective" It's called a loss.
-
You already get penalized. Your team fails to meet the objective you lose. Simple as that
-
Just make disabling worth zero points.
-
Salvage is all about farming blueberries brah.
-
1) It's easier to team wipe and disable than to capture and hold 2) You are rewarded the same for disabling or capturing

Haha no

Edited by Fourteen 88: 6/21/2016 12:45:19 AMThere should be a penalty to the idiots who capture the salvage point by themselves when their team isn't in position to defend. Oh wait, there is. People are just too dumb to realize it.
-
4 RepliesThe bitches that don't want to play the objective should go play Skirmish if they can't handle playing Salvage like big boys.
-
It doesn't help that there is a bounty to capture 3 relics either. I agree it's alot easier to let other team cap and then disable points wise. They should make it where you get points on capture and holding it should give you 3x the amount of points. This way waiting for other team to cap and taking it becomes the least used strategy. I can't tell you how many times I went in to salvage Playlist and tried to play legit and lose. I win far more often when other team caps and we disrupt. Rift is pretty similar in this regard because most players sit in the back and snipe or spawn camp farming kills. Objective, yeah no one knows what that is most of the time. Pretty pathetic if you ask me.
-
Salvage is ine if my least favourite modes. No real benefit for capturing when you can just disable it.
-
I absolutely and wholeheartedly agree with you. Too many points are given to teams for kills alone, and so a salvage match becomes an easy version of Skirmish for players who care more about K/D than playing games properly for their intended uses. When I play objectives, I aim for the objectives. My K/D is shocking because I try hard for the rift, or for the Relics. But all I see are people camping about near the objectives trying to pick people off with no intention of playing the game. If only there was less emphasis on points for kills, and more on the actual task.
-
I highly doubt anyone has ever won a salvage match by kills alone. And not capturing a zone is a viable strategy if your team is capable of defeating a defending team.
-
2 Repliessalvage whats that? every game mode is clash
-
Salvage is a sweaty playlist. When people dont cap, theyre doing it on purpose.
-
2 RepliesSalvage is the dumbest game mode in Crucible. The goal is to Salvage relics but you get more points for shutting the other team down than you do for capturing the relic. So why bother trying to capture the relic? This should've been fixed before anything was nerfed.
-
People like you are the reason why I lose salvage matches.Playing the objective is BAD for your team, that's why nobody wants to do it. It's Bungie's fault,no doubt. And before you say I'm a scrub...I think I know how to play salvage and be successful
-
just don't play it
-
1 ReplyI hate all you blueberries who keep deploying with a deep passion. Fuck all of you.
-
All they need to do to make getting the relic a goal is to make it worth far more points than shutting it down. It is salvage after all and the main purpose is to secure the relic.
-
3 RepliesYou obviously don't see how salvage should be played
-
They need to tweek the points and make it 300 to capture and reduce the time to defend to 25 seconds and 150 points for a dismantle and increase the time a salvage point becomes available then ppl would play salvage properly
-
What they need to do is increase the points you earn the longer the relic is captured. Why would you capture the flag and try to defend it for a minute if you get 50% more points for 3 seconds it takes to shut it down? (Figures may not be accurate!) Once you capture the flag your points should start to increase (similar to zone control). At least this way you have an incentive to carry out the objective.
-
1 ReplyI feel players should get more points if they neutralize and capture a flag in control because players are usually running around trying to get as many kills as possible. Now, if you give a player 150 points for neutralizing and capturing the same flag, then I'm sure more players would capture flags. I usually capture and neutralize at least 2 flags a game and see players with no captures while going negative lol ahh whatever, just sucks that players only go for kills.

Problem is salvage is fundamentally broken. It is very rarely worth going for the objective, unless you can absolutely trounce the other team you usually lose more than you gain.
