DS3- where to go next?

So I just beat the dancer, and I have 2 options, the consumed kings garden and Lothric Castle. I tried the garden, but got really frustrated at the Consumed king, and I was wondering if I should just go back later and continue on with the castle. What should I do?

  • Garden leads to an optional area with the hardest fight in the game. Lothric continues the main story. So it is up to you. You don't go straight to ng+ so it really doesn't matter.

    • Consumed king, because it leads to the untended graves, and you can get the bonefire sword shard. Which is just an boneshard but with infinite warping.

    • Consumed King's Garden:
After defeating Oceiros, you'll technically get access to two hidden areas, with one of those areas containing the game's hardest boss. All of these areas are optional.
Lothric Castle:
You need to go through the castle to complete the game, so you'll have to go here eventually.
Personally, I would go ahead and do the Garden now so you don't have to come back to it later. It's really rewarding after you clear it, trust me.

        • I always go garden first then lothric...except my first playthough when I told myself I'll head down left (up top the dancers ladder) later but forgot

          • Consumed king is a side area that leads to Dragob Peak, too, eventually. If you're a completionist, do that first, as the other path leads you to one of the final bosses of the main game. Of course you can always leave it and backtrack to the consumed king later.

          • Consumed is an optional boss, but by beating him, you'll get access to good gear and visit an old friend. Go back to the castle if you want to, though.

            • Consumed king is an optional area that leads to 2 other optional areas. Definitely recommended to do. Lothric castle is the 2nd to last main area in the game. I reccomend go through consumed king first, and then get access to the intended graves and the Dragon area. Of you don't beat the nameless king, you haven't beaten DS3 imo.
