I don't make threads often, but I felt compelled to make this one. No longer being able to stick people with a tripmine grenade sucks. Were people complaining about it that much? It was the one grenade that actually took some skill to get a stick with. The other grenades that can stick to players have some degree of magnetism to them, but not the tripmine.
Really poor move on Bungie's part.
R.I.P. Tripmines

2 RepliesIts OK that it doesn't stick to walls but lowering the damage even further is stupid on every level. I sometimes wonder if bungie has been possessed by a weird child who is possessed by his warlock.
-
Yes. Yes it was.
don't reply pls irk why I even wrote this I didn't even read the post
-
Don't know if it was necessary, but had a good laugh one bounced off me today and then blew up the blueberry infront of me.
-
Have anyone throw a TM at someone since the patch? It does exactly as described. It hits, arms bounces and land right right between their legs. Mili-second later it blows their crotch off. I approve just for the comical aspect.

4 RepliesYes, the guy who wrote the changes initially perfectly described how we felt about the Trip Mines. You can either stick them and treat it like a Fusion even though it is not a Fusion grenade. Or you can miss them and still get the kill by it being a trap. That is why I never complaint about Lightning grenade because they actually take skills to plant them and it hits the opponent, it punishes the user by bouncing off and landing some where else entirely. Trip Mines were a win-win grenade like Fire Bolt. As a Warlock, I admit Fire Bolts are broken as hell(k) and deserved that nerf. My brother who is a Gunslinger by heart felt a little sad after the changes but still loves his Gunslinger. Its not the end of the world that they removed one things that should not be there in the first place. Its only the begging to recover and redesign a strategy to be sucsessful in the Crucible.

3 RepliesSolution on how to piss off the devs: This recent update did buff up Bladedancer again and, last I checked, the flux grenade still is a guaranteed "viable" choice in regards to grenades.
-
Wished they had just reduced damage when sticking to a player or pve enemy
-
Just bait them into it then shott

Edited by FlatbushFatih: 6/15/2016 1:04:02 AMNot rly into Destiny at the moment. From what I've read though, tripmine not being able to stick seems pretty vague and not needed. I'm okay with everything else in the patch notes.

4 Replies'Necessary!? Necessary!? Is it "necessary" for me to drink my own urine? No. But it's sterile and I like the taste." -Nerfers-
Also a quote from a movie... if you guess it then you get

bragging rights
4 RepliesWell for one a TRIPMINE isn't a sticky, so yes.
TRIP MINE. TRIP. MINE. You people man...
-
Im fine with the removal of the sticky factor. The damage reduction was stupid and unneeded.
-
There was too much versatility in that one grenade. No other class has an equivalent.
-
45 RepliesTheir reason for nerfing it is that it wasn't meant to be used as a sticky in the first place
-
7 RepliesDidn't they just buff the hell out of scatter grenade though? It should kill just as easily. You just have to use trip mines... as a trip mine. Lol!
-
6 RepliesThe fact that titans got a buff (Striker) annoys me.
-
Since trip mines don't stick anymore can we tone down the huge warning light so it can REALLY be a trap?
-
Yes because thats all hunters did in trials when people where getting revived theyd just stick the person id rather get res sniped then res grenaded.. Res snipe takes more skill because you have to time the snipe or you miss or to early tripmine you just throw and kills no immune or anything
-
<Insert obligatory "Yeah, I hate Bungie" here even though everyone knows I'm gonna get back to playing with my RoL $30 set aside for later>
-
I think it was cool. Just imagine they never stuck in the first place and were purely traps.
-
It makes you not have a sticky grenade in gunslinger subclass. As well makes it more of a 'tripmine', so its fine no low blow perfectly fine. Easily adaptable.
-
Lmao @ hunters
-
It's a trap!
-
It sticks still. You have to aim walls, ceiling, ground, etc... requires skills.
-
12 RepliesYou can have a sticky tripmine if I can have a sticky lightning grenade
-
3 RepliesI got killed by people sticking trip mines constantly... I'll be shooting as someone and they will just huck a trip mine at me and it will stick to my forehead and insta kill me....
