I have played a ton of pvp since I bought Destiny right after the release of House of Wolfs. I really liked it, especially how fun the guns were to use (last word, messenger, red death etc.)
I liked the guns because I could get kills with them. Now, after so many nerfs and nerfs, I don't really enjoy the crucible as much anymore. I don't feel my guns are doing that much damage. In 6v6 game modes, an encounter usually goes like this; I encounter an enemy, I start to shoot at him, I almost finish him, but my primary is not strong enough (and no, I don't use weak primaries), he steps back/goes into hiding because he realises he can't win that particular gunfight, then his teammate steps in with full health, starts to shoot at me (and I basically one shot) and gets the kill. Those kind of encounter/situations happen way too often compared to year 1. Bungie, why are primaries so weak now? no wonder why so many people uses their special weapon instead of their primaries. The new meta is relying on meta perks, stability and aim assist.
Not a particular gun type or category.
I'm not saying I 100% want the state of the y1 crucible back, I just don't want the solution to just be nerfs and nerfs. Why make every primary equally weak and not equally strong?
Yes, shotguns were way to strong, snipers aimed to quickly, and people had way to much special ammo.
The poison from Thorn was too strong etc. You get what I'm saying. Fix what is broken but not what is fun.

LMFAO not happening. New patch notes are a pile of shit. I really wanted to come back for Rise of Iron, but being a PvPer, these changes are such a disappointment.

Please this so much this

Well that isn't happening, they probably just made them longer now with the upcoming nerfs.
-
Bungie nerfs everything just because scrubs get on the forums and complain about everything. The crucible is only going to get slower and slower. Fast paced pvp is a thing of the past sadly.

No, I hate low TTK.

No primaries, nightstalker only, Pantheon! the future of the crucible is now

I can feel you, nerfs on everything is just ruin the game

6 RepliesEdited by magburner: 6/12/2016 11:40:36 PMSo, basically you are complaining about the tactics, and not the weapons. What do you want, Guardians to line up in rows for you to headshot?? If your strategy is not working, perhaps it is time to try somothing new?

2 RepliesThis may come off rude so I apologize but I find a lot of problems with your post. To better show where I'm coming from I want a halo-like ttk. From your post though I may be wrong it seems like you come more from a cod or much higher ttk background. So to use your situation you couldn't quite kill a person before he took cover and was backed up by his team. This makes me think you have a strong bias towards cod where when you see someone they are usually dead where in halo getting the drop in someone doesn't necessarily mean you have secured the kill. There are other factors such as you were out of effective range or happened to have bad aim but typically falling back from primary fire you know will kill you for team support isn't unfair its strategy. You shouldn't be challenging the whole team or even point man on your own. Sounds like the point man baited you into getting team shot. The problem with destiny right now is the vast discrepancy in weapons. Specials have the ease of use of cod weapons while the primaries are closer to halo. Depending on what you favor you will likely want snipers nerfs or primaries buffed. So difference of opinion. Getting the drop on someone should give you an advantage but not necessarily a kill.

Because scouts and snipers reign supreme now. And all people do is sit back and camp. Year 1 it was thorn and shotties. So you had to be close and move around a lot to get kills. Year one was 20 times better than this broken year 2. I'd take thorn back to its prime and Felwinters Sniper over hidden hand snipers and Mida anyday.

It's not just that weapons are weaker, it's the added movement abilities as well. So much easier to avoid death once you've made a mistake.

They need to fix the Matchmaking and the shitty p2p first

21 Repliesthis sounds like an engagement problem: dont engage with enemies that you cannot finish off, or dont overcommit in the engagement. in this scenario, the opposition had good positioning, as he was able to escape his demise, AND was close enough to team-mates for a save. positioning is MUCH more lethal than any weapon!

2 RepliesAh yes. Classic "fast paced" crucible. Users whipping out Thorn Tagging everyone Everyone running and hiding to wait out the poison. Coming back Getting tagged again Running away. Super fast paced ;-)

6 RepliesTry strategy. It helps.

7 RepliesSince when was destiny fast paced?

3 RepliesEdited by Infamous067: 6/13/2016 4:17:05 PMI wish all primaries kicked ass. Why does bungie prefer we team shot people all the time? When you are by yourself in trials and have no one to team shot with, what the hell are you supposed to do then? The obvious answer is take out a sniper and run away and shoot until everyone is dead. I shouldn't rely on a damn secondary to win gun fights. Primary guns need to be strong as hell like the way these fast fire primaries are. Apart from the thorn era, there was a time where every primary gun kicked ass, what the hell happened to that?

1 ReplyThis is mostly what we see in Trials. 1000 yard stare, LDR, Still piercer, Long bow synthesis. There's no variety

2 RepliesEdited by SwedishBass: 6/13/2016 5:10:46 PMI'll take Felwinter's Lie with Shot Package over a Hidden Hand/Shortgaze/Snapshot 1KYS every day of the year. Shotguns need to return to their HoW status in PvE and PvP. At least they had their limits and effective range. Snipers have no limitations. The sniper meta wouldn't exist if they hadn't nerfed shotguns in every single patch since the PvE buff in early 2015 (which actually nerfed range, haha).

USe the MIDA at a cool distance and you won't get outgunned ;-)
