There you have it. NOBODY in the gaming industry is going to cater to the 10% of their player base that are on old gen...PERIOD!
It makes no development sense, no business sense, no hardware/memory sense and makes no content sense.
You all have around 100 days to save up.
Also, with the PS NEO and XBOX Scorpion around the corner, the prices of current gen will go down.
Plus with 360 consoles no longer being produced, PS3 will follow suit and in 2017 will no longer be supported.
We all know we had to upgrade sooner than later. Old gen had a ~10 year run.
It was awesome but all good things...

I'm a current gen player and I want the game to progress but it's kinda stupid that they're making people upgrade and re-buy the game for [u][i][b]ONE[/b][/i][/u] dlc.

3 RepliesWhy do you think increasing vault space was such an issue in the past? Not enough memory obviously the ps4 and xbone has plenty of memory to store all that stuff it was the 360 and PS3 that was making it difficult. As deej said in the quality of life changes (can't remember if was HOW or TTK) they managed to find 1ish mb free and decided to use part of it for vault space (not sure what the rest was used on) And in future I bet we will be able to equip more then 1 emote now that last gen limitations are no longer a thing and perhaps ingame party finders could become a thing(COULD BE its just a guess) or even weapon skins, sparrow customization or even a whole entire new game mode in s future update. Look it's 2016 time to let the last gen RIP for good and only bring them out to play older games.

I highly doubt 90% of the overall gaming population is on current gen consoles, there honestly haven't been many reasons to upgrade so far. I'd also be willing to bet Bungie is pulling that number out of their butt as well. "Next gen" and mostly the next gen AAAs have been lackluster at best. However it is important in the long run for them to start phasing out the older consoles, if they don't we will never see games reach their full potential on this current gen of consoles. It sucks I know, and $300-400 to upgrade is not super easy to come by for most people who work and have other bills to pay, but it has to happen eventually. That having been said, most of the stuff Urk said in that article is utter BS. We heard the same things with Taken King and the prior expansions about all the content and being a "worthy" release and if Taken King was playable on PS3/360, don't see why they couldn't at least give those players one last shot at Destiny and then let them upgrade with Destiny 2.

It's a shame we can't live in a perfect world where all games work on all consoles, but there's only so much the old hardware can do. I'm excited to see what Bungie can do without having to work on two different versions of the same game.

7 RepliesI ow a Ps4 so old gen news don't effect me. I even felt happy at first however there are many wrong things with this First of all , Destiny originally is developed for Old generation consoles. Bungie then ported it to new gen. So the actual game engine is designed for old gen. Which is NOT going to be updated for the DLC. Therefor expecting major game play improvements is the last thing you shall do. Old gens even today have 1 main issue which is Memory. Current Destiny , Raids are etc.. pretty capable to be run on old gens. So theoretically the new raids shall have the identical experience because it is impossible for a developer company to replace the engine for just a DLC. The main reason they leave old gen being is : Activision signed a Deal with Sony and Microsoft to port players to new gen. But as usual Bungie will never tell you the truth :)

7 RepliesSo glad this is happening. They should have never supported last gen to begin with. It's 2016. No game that comes out, or is still supported should cater to owners of a 10 plus year old console. If anyone truely thought support would last into 2017 they are insane. I honestly didn't expect even HoW to be last gen.
