Huge destiny fan/player here, but idk man, Bungie really has to make some awesome additions in order for me to fork up some more $$$
I'm looking forward to seeing what Rise of Iron holds, but I'm keeping my expectations in check.
Edit: did not expect this to pick up a lot of chatter! I'm really glad to see all of these conversations have been grounded and not trolly. I thank you for that. I'll be responding back to most of ya when I get back!
Edit #2 After the Stream: Alright, what they showed seems pretty neat. I'm interested to see the crucible side of things. Also that Hammer looks cool, but too bad it's not a Heavy Weapon.

2 RepliesOn one hand, Bungie has been kind of shitty recently, and I dobmn't want to reward them for not listening at all. On the other hand, the gameplay, mechanics and graphics are all amazing, and I enjoy all three, and would like more content. On yet another hand, it's too early to judge, and I need more information on the DLC itself before I form a proper opinion.

2 RepliesLove how everyone saying it's gonna cost money when both activison and bungie say all future dlc till destiny 2 is going to be free via microtransactions via eververse. If they go back on there word they are gonna lose a lot more fans. No one likes an Indian giver

1 ReplyI am. Ik the info is all leaked and unconfirmed. But if it's true, the update sounds way smaller than the taken king (especially since we don't get new subclasses). I would not pay $40 for it right now. Probably $30. It better have some cool exotics (something bungie is lacking in year 2)
-
I'm not hesitant. I'm scarred shitless if what we're facing!
-
7 Replies98% of those saying they won't buy it are gonna buy it. The other 2% will either die by September or become incarcerated.
-
2 RepliesYeah I'm waiting for release to see what's up. Based on the leaked list it sounds like a single strike (no thanks) a new "social area" which will be just as pointless as the reef (just consolidate them into the tower, it would feel less dead) and it worries me they are just trying to pad the release to justify a 30 to 40 price tag. Definitely looms smaller than TTK on paper.
-
I personally think it will be a great expansion, probably better than the taken king. It seems like it will be more involved with destinys lore and universe. Plus the 'plaguelands' and 'mutants' all make it sound very differnent to the typical hive dlc where all the gear looks like bone and teeth.

1 ReplyI'm addicted so there is no question tbh
help me
-
I'm excited BUT if it's only the size of TDB/HOW I don't know if it would last a whole year? I'm just hoping they'll either relase D2 early 2017 or have another DLC planned.
-
It should be FREEEEEEE!!!!!
-
I'm excited, but until you hear it from bungie themselves, anything can change.
-
Well if it's the same size of the TTK (which was about 1/3 of vanilla Destiny) it should be 1/3 the price ($20) But of course, they'll overcharge by doubling that and we're left with a $40 cosmodrome in reverse.. i mean expansion. I personally won't pay more than $30 for this tbh
-
I'm cautious, yet somewhat optimistic.

I'm really optimistic. Iron banner is my favourite thing in the game, timers lash and finallas peril two of my favourite guns and the story of the iron Lords and wolves is really interesting
-
What you find awesome someone else might find crap and vice versa.
-
1 ReplyI would like to see light stay at 335, raise the level to 50-60, and make it hard to get there.
-
No hesitation, prepared to throw money at the screen!

2 Repliesya could be a short dlc then months of nothing again just like ttk, we still have issues with red bars in pvp, we need more customization, the idea of mutant fallen feels like just more reskins with slightly different abilities like the taken, theres so many storylines that are just left....the stranger nothing, how about the structure of the awoken after the queen's death etc. Are we going to be shown things that wont be able to get for months or not at all? speaking of pvp, is it just going to be the same 5 maps over and over again in every game mode? How will social be worked out. Its idiotic to have to get groups together via an app or the website when its 2016 we should be able to talk in game. what about emotes are we going to get something in the dlc or will it be seperate? How bad will rng be, will it be too fast or too slow, since its almost never been just right. what about the new zone will it look actually different from everything or will it just be the same map textures just in different positions? Can we actually do something in the city? So many questions that need answers

Same, if i'm not blown away, its not happening
-
2 Repliesnah im pretty excited to see where the story goes, and they seem to know how to build a good raid, but there'll have to be a lot to tie over until D2
-
1 ReplyDon't play it then, rip.
-
I'm looking forward to Rise of Iron, new content is a good thing. I just hope that this expands on our arsenal and doesn't make everything we've worked for to this point worthless. With that said Destiny will remain my main game until Borderlands 3 drops, or the often discussed remaster of the first Borderlands sees the light of day.
-
1 ReplyI'll stick the next 3 or 4 months if the rise of iron is free... If not then I'm probly done with destiny... Not bothered with it lately and can't see myself gettin it back out in September if I have to pay for it... It just seems like destiny is dead and the devs are trying so hard to keep it alive with all these little updates and events that they can't seem to put together a great piece of content in time to keep the game going... They should just give us rise of iron for free and just focus on a top quality game for 2017

I'm pumped for it. Hope they bring some cool new PvP modes
