2 RepliesIt's so disappointing to see so many comments say that they want to start fresh (yet the poll says otherwise). The whole "become legend" thing would have way more impact in Destiny 2 if characters from year 1 could could carry over. If gear was carried over (which is possible because of cloud and how weapons are made up of "parts") then they would be like relics from the past carried by the oldest guardians. Let the newcomers create new characters so that when they see the faces of year 1 characters they will be more unique. I have already experienced this with people who only started playing since TTK. If things worked like this, by the time we are in year 10, my yellow eyed Exo warlock wielding Sunbreaker Gauntlets and solar Jewel of Osiris & Pocket Infinity would look look epic through the eyes of anybody that started playing at the later years.

3 RepliesI want to keep my character but redo my k.d I'm not bad but my k.d says otherwise.
-
1 Replythey already confirmed this
-
13 RepliesIn my opinion, if I am gonna buy a new game... I don't want all my sork on the previous into the series. Might as just make it a DLC if we are gonna start with a bunch of good stuff.
-
Bungie has already confirmed that when the time comes our characters will carry over, and will continue to all the way through to the very end of destiny's life cycle.
-
2 RepliesAlso, I don't understand why so many people want shit to carry over. Don't you all know what that means? It means less NEW content and more OLD and re-used content from OG Destiny that was forced into Destiny 2.
-
No we need a fresh start everything new again.
-
1 ReplyI don't even think the title D2 is even confirmed yet, besides carrying our light/gear to the next chapter would feel like an expansion rather then a new game. You wanna burn another $40/$60 for the same shit we already have?
-
Idk, either way we need to get good story if we continue with the current story, or start from new. Since we didn't get to get a good story unless we read the cards I didn't get attached to my characters, so I could care less.
-
Yeah I think it should transfer over to destiny 2 because in destiny 1 your character overcame multiple foes and challenges therefore progressing the story. So it would make sense for your character to progress to destiny 2 imo. Sorry for Grammer.

Man.... Good questions. At first i was pro carry over.. But after playing since beta, i'm not so sure. Yes, we put in a lot of time/effort in acquiring the gear we want. But.. Idk i kinda would like to see it all scrapped and just restart. Rebalance everything. Clean slate. I think it would do a lot of good to have a healthy new fresh start. But then again, do i want to lose everything? I just dont know.

They will carry, at least that is what bungie says, but they've lied to us before.

11 RepliesEdited by TyDehGuy: 6/16/2016 2:28:13 AMThe real question is what about the new players? Like will they have a new "Awakening" with a new mission somewhere without them having Destiny 1 or will it just carry over to the new game? The first mission that is

I want to keep my chracters but i chance their hair color and style. And i'm not keen to grind through stroh again to upgrade my guardian just because i wanted to chance hairstyle or color. So bungie, just let us chance our characters hair in the tower.

Carry over is already confirmed. Put your protest signs down.

3 RepliesMy problem with it is that I don't know how beibg level one would work. Is bungie going to come up with a convuluted reason for us to lose our gear and power? Maybe we won't be level 1, and it will be like entering Taken King, but how does that affect new players, do they have to start from vanilla Destiny? What I would like to see, instead of us just playing the same guardian, is play a new character following in the footsteps of our current guardians. Maybe Hivebane, Slayer of Oryx, went missing, and as a subplot of the main campaign, we are tracking them down. Along the way, we find secret caches of loot secreted away by our y1 characters, and that's how we get our exotics and legacy legendaries back. I think that would be dope, but I am fine with whatever.

Your title says characters but the poll says stats. I'm confused. I'd rather have completely new characters. That resets progression, so it will be a "new" game and grind for everyone. New excitement on X weapon drop. I don't care much about the stats other than the grimoire section. It shows your experience in terms of raids and PvE.
-
I'm pretty sure they said previously that your guardian would carry over to year 2
-
If you keep your stats that will ruin the whole game.
-
I wanna be able to get -blam!-ed over by trash mobs again.
-
They already said you will be able to.
-
Yeah probably, but it doesn't matter much
-
Where's the "I don't care" option?
-
Destiny 2 isnt another game in itself its just a name given to the next dlc there womt be any start over we will still have the same classes and weapons but knowing bungie theyll just be like yeah all ur guns and exotics are poop now. Go get the same exotics u had from year 1 again
-
Really only 1/5 of people would like to restart?! That 4/5 better be prepared to restart...
-
Opening scene idea: it's a nice calm day on the tower you and your ghost are kicking the soccer ball around with your other two characters (if you made them) with your called up by the vanguard there you see everyones favorite iron Lord standing with your vanguard saying that a new threat has risen and it's time to get back in the fight.
