Any tips or vids you recommend for using the blade dancer? What is a good build?
I typically use Nightstalker and would love to branch out. I usually suck pretty bad with blade dancer and can never really get the timing down for the super. Usually I use it and get killed pretty fast even when I try and time it out.
I find myself trying to shade step, which probably looks pretty funny to the enemy.
Mainly interested b/c of Khepri's Sting. I'd love to pick it up. But it will be pretty useless without using blade dancer right???

1 ReplyBe prepared to win alot of shotgun encounters thanks to quickdraw... Blade dancers can just about sprint around the map with impunity with a shotgun thanks to that perk... also be prepared to frontstab people (it still happens just not as much) Uh. Blade dancer tips? Shotgun. Shotgun. More shotgun with a side of shotgun. Run UR. You will win mid air shotgun fights. Sprinting shotgun fights. Etc. If you are out of range of shotgun OHK just blinkstrike.
-
I use skip nades, blink, razors edge, quickdraw, hungering blade, max agility and some armor. If I'm shotgunning, I run fast twitch, but I use backstab when I'm sniping.
-
I run low armor high agility with quick draw and hungering blade and razors edge, third man helmet and arc armor chest piece. Btw don't just spam ur trigger, blink is a must to get close otherwise it can turn bad quick

1 ReplyKephris sting is most useless on blade dancer dude because you already get the invis while crouching perk and backstab which is a better version of the kephris sting melee because you have to be invisible for the 4 x damage to proc whilst using sting
-
10 RepliesBe prepared to actually have to work for your kills. Lol

Edited by Say When: 5/23/2016 5:20:20 PMI never go Nightstalker. It is much more rewarding slapping foes across their faces with the Bladedancer sometimes taking 4 or 5 people out on a single charge. Mark of the Third Man or Tarantella will do the trick for you.

3 RepliesThe perks on Kepris sting are found on blade dancer already yo

You can go invisible in any subclass using it

19 RepliesEdited by Iyrha: 5/20/2016 7:25:19 PMI was actually planing on making a guide to bladedancer since a lot of new people are trying to get into the subclass, especially after WTFisPoshy started maining blade. I guess until that's done I'll just outline some of the more important parts of using the subclass. Grenade: When starting out with blade, you really want to use skips. They have very good tracking, are fairly easy to use, and you can use them as "feelers" to find out if someone is chilling around a corner. As you get more familiar and fluid with the subclass, you can switch to either arcbolt or flux (my grenade of choice). Both of these have a significantly higher skill requirement in order to be used to there maximum effect, though the only way to really learn how they work and how to use them in tandem with your build is to just put in the time and develop your own way. Melee: BE CAREFUL WITH MELEE. A lot of new blades will try to run backstab and will rush in and get killed. Don't be that guy. Not to mention the hit registration is very iffy on blade, considering it's a teleportation. Personally, I recommend going for backstab if you are gonna be sniping (keep your distance, only use melee as a last resort), and I recommend fast twitch if you are gonna shotgun (lets you shotgun-melee alot more and trust me, gets you a lot of kills you would have missed out on otherwise). Don't use escape artist under any circumstances. Although it may be tempting to run a full invis build, that really only works against new players, and anyone who is fairly acquainted with PvP will easily pick you out and kill you before you realize you've been spotted. Super: Here, invis is not so bad, since going invis at the end of the super is a great way to get out of enemy territory if you pushed too far in while mid-super. But I personally would recommend razor's edge. Just take a little practice to learn how to use properly and it has pretty decent range. But make sure you never try to use it when they are point-blank. It will go through them EVERY TIME. Armor/recovery/agility build: Personally, I use path forgotten/way of the fearless (Max armor/agility) for PvP; path unknown/way of the nomad (Mixed) for PvE. Armor is extremely important in PvP when you are a bladedancer, and no matter what,I recommend getting it as high as possible to avoid getting melee out of your super every single time. Passive 1: (Note: Shadowjack is useless unless you run an invis perk in another subclass node) Here, we have two very strong options. Fleet footed and quickdraw are the most well-known bladedancer perks, and rightfully so. Fleetfooted basically grants maxed agility and knee pads on every weapon, while quickdraw applies the "quickdraw" perk to very weapon. For this it is entirely personally preference, though I would not condone running blink unless you are using quickdraw. That will get you killed a lot. But take the time to play some rumble or something and find out which one you prefer, they both are great in their own ways. Passive 2: Hungering blade. That's the only option you want to use. Being as squishy as blades are, health regen on top of high armor is extremely important, and using anything else will only let you get 1 kill most of the times you pop your super. For armor, and int/disc/str builds, I recommend doing something similar to what is on my hunter rn (an arc armor chestpiece is essential in my experience). I personally recommend playing around in PvE a lot with blade before you go into PvP. Get to used to using the super in tandem with your jumps and even nades, and make sure your approaches always take advantage of cover and always have a quick escape route. If I ever get to making a more detailed guide I'll edit this post and link it. GL.
Source: Around 43D cumulative as a bladedancer main
A lot of people are saying use backstab with hungering blade. While backstab is nice, hungering blade works wonderfully with fast twitch. Any time another player gets to half health, blink to them and use blinkstrike. The distance you can cover is ridiculous, and you get your health back afterwards. Use gauntlets that increase your melee speed. Quickdraw is your best friend.

Khepris sting can make you invisible on other subclasses as far as i know.I used to do that in house of wolves.Along with that, the lingering effect is very useful with throwing knife crits since its a almost gurranteed kill if you have the burn throwing knife node on gunslinger equipped.

2 RepliesSkip nades, blink, backstab (helps with overshield enemies and enemy supers) razors edge, max out armor cuz arc blade has weak armor buff, quickdraw(helps swap weapons faster to shotgun and blink easier along with swapping instead of reloading), hungering blade(helps keep the streak of blade kills going with the heal, plus your standard melee can save your life sometimes) Use blink as much as you can to gain distance, position, evade gunfire, and to escape tough situations. Pair this with sliding to evade and you can be very shifty and hard to kill. The more you use blink the better you will get with it and it'll feel normal. When using the skip nades don't always throw directly where the enemies are. Throw them in front of them so they bounce towards the enemy. Also with skip nades bounce them off the opposite walls around corners so they ricochet in the direction the enemy is. Skip nades are very powerful. Throw em first to gain advantage. If that can't be done throw them mid gunfight and keep shooting. If near death and knowing you are going to die, throw it at your feet before you die as it has a high chance of finishing off the enemy that killed you. When using the super, blink up in the air first aggressively towards and above the enemies then activate it in the air and start swinging towards them. Blink and swing as much as you can towards them if they start running as you will make up the distance on them doing so. All these tips combined make the bladedancer a lethal option. As for exotic armor piece I always run Tarantella with max intellect and discipline to get nades and super faster. It also gives a bit more armor with arc subclass as well. Hope this helps and good luck!

Invisibility makes you non-existent on enemy radar. Use that to your advantage.

1 ReplyEdited by TiiDDii: 5/21/2016 6:17:34 AMRazors edge>spamming rb Blink+party crasher fleet-footed (extra slide distance after blinking and max speed) combine with Mida Skip nades I run escape artist>backstab, I can't tell you how many guardians I've melee' kill for invis, then sneak up on the next victim. 50+ days BD main.

I suggest trying to utilize stealth more then. Arcblade then stealth to come at your enemies from the side. Arc Razor can be devastating. For myself the rush and swing style is only super effective when it close quaters do you arn't team shoted or sniped.
-
Blink up and then use the super.

Flux Grenades, Better Control, Razors Edge, Backstab, Quickdraw, and Hungering Blade :)

I like crouching/invis with blade dancer and snipe/ stab ppl 😆

4 RepliesTry to stay away from blink.

7 RepliesDon't use kepris sting.

14 RepliesHarness razors edge and blink. They are blade dancers best friend

1 ReplyKhepri's Sting is useless on Bladedancers. It gives the invisibility when crouching and bonus melee damage from behind that Bladedancers already have. When used on a different subclass, it still gives those abilities. It isn't like Graviton Forfeit, where you have to use the subclass with the ability/ies in it's skill tree.

2 RepliesGrenades: Flux: Requires high skill and precise timing to get it off right, it isnt a OHK if you find a max armor Titan or max armor Ram Warlock Skip: Requires not much skill, can help drag people out from cover or finish off an opponent thats weak or postmortem(My personal favorite) Arc-Bolt: Requires quite the amount of skill and since their nerf they arent as potent, dont get me wrong theyre good for finishing off people or pulling them out from cover Jumps: Run whatever feels comfortable to you, but I recommend that you either run Blink(My personal favorite) or Better Control, both make Bladedancers quite deadly and capable of closing gaps between them and the enemy or further the distance to get to cover while being weak. Melee: Backstab (Frontstab): This melee is kinda broken, sometimes it'll take your charge and do nothing or OHK someone from the front, I run it at times but pair this with Blink or Better Control and you can jump over enemies and disorient them and you can possibly get behind them and murder them Escape Artist: Don't run this unless you wanna really waste a melee charge, only good for full stealth builds Fast Twitch: This is pretty much the same as Backstab but works alot better, with Tier 5 Strength you can get your melee back in 4 seconds and helps shotgunners alot or someone that just likes to stab shit.(My personal favorite) Arc-Blade: Showstopper: This is good if you like to rush and get in a group of enemies and for people getting to close for comfort. Razor's Edge: This is great to close the gap between ranged enemies or for some postmortem action, you can finish off alot of opponents this way and get a possible team wipe.(My personal favorite) Vanish: This is ok for when you end your super, go Invis and possibly sneak up on some poor enemies but some enemies maybe exp in what Invis looks like and can gun you down before you can react. Perk Node Set 1: Fleet Footed: Makes you run fast and slide fast, fantastic for shotgunners and rushers, but with a full stealth build this gives you away. Quickdraw: If you use Blink it helps out with get your weapon out so much fast and can get you out of sticky melee battles or get rid of rushers.(My personal favorite) Shadowjack: This only works for full stealth builds but with it can cause your invis to last alot longer, possibly up to 5 seconds more, really useful in pvp if you know how to use it correctly. Perk Nodes Set 2: Encore: Only really useful in pve, in pvp it can get you an extra swipe or two but you need to run Hungering Blade bc of how squishy Bladedancers are. Stalker: This goes with the full stealth build also, but can be useful as well but an exotic can already do that so no use unless you plan on using a full stealth build. Hungering Blade: A must for all Bladedancers, in a melee fight can get you out of sticky situations with nultiple enemies and help you survive longer.(My personal favorite) Armor/Recover/Agility: I personally run max agility and recovery so I can rush in and out and get around faster with a full health bar sooner, armor only gives you 5-7 more HP and imo doesnt help much. But run whatever you perfer as long as you feel comfortable Tips: While in Arc-Blade, use your vertical space around you, you gain more distance while in air and use less energy than swiping like a maniac on the ground, jumping right out of Blink can get you the extra distance and learn how to dodge other supers with the swipes, can save your streaks and keep you alive. Bladedancer are more rushers imo than other classes and their stealth and speed compliment that so greatly. Exotics to use with Bladedancer: Mask of the Third Man (meh) ATS/8 Tarentella (amazing) Bones of Eao (amazing) Sealed Ahamkara Grasps (great) Lucky Raspberry (great) Khepri's Sting (meh) Crest of Alpha Lupi (meh) PVP Build: Perferred Grenade Razor's Edge Backstab/Fast Twitch Better Control/Blink Fleet Footed/Quickdraw Hungering Blade PVE Stealth Build: Preferred Grenade Escape Artist Vanish Better Control/High Jump Fleet Footed/Shadowjack Hungering Blade/Stalker Stay frosty guardian

Go khepri sting if you want invis and keep the health regen stack on blink and super kills. I seem to be doing better (not hard lol) recently since giving it a try again for first time in a long time.

7 RepliesMain bladedancer here Skip nades Blink Showstopper or razors edge (6vs6 or 3vs3) Backstab if you want but I prefer fast twitch Recovery and agility Quickdraw Hungering blade
