Me and my friends tried it for the first time recently, and we were met with utter failure, which we expected. We won a few matches, but felt like it took too much effort. All I'm asking is for advice on what loadouts and tactics would work best.
I completed all the bounties and got Doctrine of Passing, which I've already fully upgraded. I also have 1kS. My friend got The Water Star. Is that a good start?

Once you have tagged someone with Viking funeral just hit them once in the body with a hand cannon or scout rifle or shoot him for 37 damage with an south rifle and they should die from the burn

1 ReplyGo on a sunsinger warlock and use fire bolt grenades with touch of flame and Viking funeral.

Play lots of rumble matches. When u find urself winning 1or2 out of 5 or soo games then u should be good. Holding ur own is really inportant in trials. I barely do trials but im decent when i get one bcos i rumbled alot...a little bit of skirmish will help too...goodluck..

Edited by FlatbushFatih: 5/16/2016 4:19:43 PMThere's no right answer. You just have to actively think about your gameplay and on how to improve it. Just play a ton basically... And have fun.

24 RepliesJust use whatever weapons you do best with. For a lot of ppl it's snipers and primaries with fast fire rates- the last word and doctrine, like you mentioned. If you don't do well with your doctrine don't use it just because you think you should. I've seen every weapon type in this game dominate depending on who is using it, whether it's a pulse (hawksaw), a scout (Mida), a hand cannon (there are so many good hand cannons and they are all unique how they fire) and auto rifles (again, there are like 7 good auto rifles now). It just depends how you strafe when you fire or whether you play offensive, defensive, solo, or team shooter. Pick a weapon based on you, not what other people are doing. As far as beginner strategies in trials, 3 things: 1) stick together 2) communicate: enemy locations and your plans of attack 3) make your decisions and act quickly as possible. Every second counts as the enemy team is given more time to regroup, revive, get special ammo, etc. Basically having confidence and moving swiftly as possible is the key to going flawless. Weapons are only tools to get the job done. If you are unable to confidently win every 1v1 battle you encounter, you need to practice in crucible throughout the week. Rumble has most 1v1 encounters so I recommend that. When you can consistently win rumble matches by 5 kills or more you are ready for trials. Good luck

Well, you have the benefit of being a warlock. With that you should definitely take advantage of touch of flame & Viking funeral firebolts. For weapons like other people have been saying use what you do best with. Personally when I use firebolts on my warlock I use a hard hitting gun so I can shoot them once and not worry if they survive. Hawkmoon is a really good choice if you decide to use this. Since the map this week is Bannerfall I suggest sticking outside as the point spawns outside by the giant tree. Take advantage of the sniper lanes and choke points with your 1kyd stare. Armor wise I'd suggest Voidfang or just fast res. If you get a pick move up on it but dont move recklessly. Remember firebolts are your best friends and are basically a breach and clear grenade. Remember to pick up your teammates at all times and PUSH THEM (Can't stress this enough as people forget to do this and get their teammates killed) also keep moving at all times, camping is a horrible strategy as it allows people to flank you in and trap you.

I gave you advice on how to win in trials but if you just want to know a good setup here is more advice to help you. Go on Twitch and watch Destiny streamers. Maybe you have a favorite already or you can find one that suits your style. Now look them up on Bungie and you can see their exact setup- armor, weapons, what perks they use, everything. Hope this helps

1 ReplyYou can run the ultimate cheap trials setup : Sunsinger with firebolts and Viking funeral , touch of flame, flame shield . Doctrine and 1k are a very easy combo , whenever not in close to mid range just snipe like most people do in this game .

2 RepliesTry the Universal/Sniper combo, it works wonders. Practice with Fusion grenades, they are really good. Run full armor, intellect, and Discipline. Work as a team too, don't go and fight individually. And pick off at least one person on the other team and rush.
