What game are you playing?
Story:
- Create hero
-go through different dungeons (here planets)
-Boss fights
-defeat the great EVIL known as oryx.
If that's no Story for you, then Rpg/shooter is nothing for you.

Should i go into details? - Ghost who tells you everything what happened - introduction to npcs in the to wer - storyprogress through exploring the cosmodrome, battling the fallen - finding your ship so you can Flyer to other planets - The speaker telling you what is threataning the humanity - encountering the hive, getting to know Eros morn - exploring the caves in cosmodrome to finden raspitin and crotas ppl, I could go on if you like. Isnt that a story?

The speaker tells you there is a vague enemy known as the Darkness that wants to destroy humanity. Nothing more. Do you even know who created Rasputin without grimoire? Or why "Crota's People" (lmao such a scrub you are) are on earth in the first place? It's all in grimoire and needs to be in game. You are so in denial it's hilarious. Poor little scrub boy.
