I need to rant about this. Almost 2 years and it's really starting to tick me off.
This is [b]THE MOST[/b] [i]repulsive[/i] and truly [i]disgusting[/i] community [b]I've[/b] ever witnessed in a video game.
NO ONE has respect for one another. There is absolutely no integrity.
Everyone believe that they are the best of the best. Almost everyone I've seen has an elitist mentality.
People share an opinion and get completely bashed on by idiots who think they're the best. It's so distasteful.
That is all.

I've met a ton of people who were amazing people in Destiny. However, the number of these people has been diminishing. I'm a solo player nowadays because my clan quit, which requires me to come talk to people on the forums. I'd have no problem, but every time I want to join in on a convo, i see the hate someone with my similar opinion gets, which just refrains me from posting.

1 ReplyUnfortunately the forums are populated with a vocal minority of entitled spoiled brats who complain when they don't get their way or instant gratification. Fortunately this makes up only a small population of the destiny community, the silent majority are good people willing to lend a hand. At least that's my experience.

This is what happens when the game companies lie to people making them think they're special and actually matter. Forums, twitter and all that crap create a feeling of entitlement that older gamers rare have. Not to mention the creation of online gaming has attracted the same people who randomly cause trouble in the real world and allows others to be trolls because they don't get in trouble. It's just more of the internet breaking down our society and poor parenting for not teaching their kids to behave like good people.

I was a moderator for 2 years for another site and I gotta say, this one is tame. I think you might be focused on the negative a lil' too much, friend. Just now I was cracking up over the whole "One Shot Ted" thing that is going around.

4 Repliesmany of them are young angry youth looking for attention yet lacking the intelligence to do it without negativity. the entitlement generation is raised to think they all deserve a prize just for participating instead of actually having to win anything so they parade around peacocking like they are special (snowflakes as the young people say) meanwhile they are too young to have actually done anything relevant in their lives yet and forget it is just a game. i suppose thats the reason for the childrens table at family holiday dinners at least technology has them glued to their smart phones so they just sit silent in the corner typing away instead of screaming and causing a ruckus like the children of the past, now they are keyboard warriors that just whine on the internet. luckily as the average gaming age has pushed up to around 30 it is easier to find adults capable of giving unbiased opinions without insults and nonsensical satire the forums are unfortunately littered with. if bungie could get some real moderators onto the forums we could get rid of all this smoggy pluto, satire type bullsh*t clogging up the forums.

Tbh, I've actually had my opinion of this community change a bit from playing with a few people from the recruitment page. Some pretty awesome people out there. Just stay away from offtopic.

Completely agree. The only thing the community managers do is add stuff to a list of things we want but will never get. They should at least try to settle down the community

It's this site, which was overrun by the trolls, whiners and other assorted cretins long ago. On other sites like Reddit or planet destiny you will find a much more civil and supportive atmosphere. There are a ton of amazing and helpful guardians out there, even here, TBH, but they can be hard to find. The mute button is definitely your friend!

[b][u]Call of Duty[/u][/b] is plagued by ignorant kids & bigots who never have anything of substance to say. [b][u]Destiny[/u][/b] is plagued by hyper-elitists that think this casual game is the most hardcore & important thing ever. [b][u]Dark Souls [/u][/b]is plagued by cheaters and trolls who just want to invade your shit & ruin your day. [b][u]Dragon's Dogma[/u][/b] has the best community I've ever been a part of. Practically everyone who played that game helped everyone else, especially the newer players. It was quite refreshing, to be honest.
