More Matchmaking Server Improvements Inbound
Just like [url=https://www.bungie.net/en/Forums/Post/201044222?page=0&sort=0&showBanned=0&path=1]last week[/url], we will be making some improvements to our Matchmaking servers. We plan on rolling these changes out one playlist at a time following the schedule posted below. This is laying the groundwork to enable our team to more easily tune settings in the future, but [b]no Matchmaking settings are being altered today[/b]. You may experience some longer Matchmaking times as we make the switch, but this should be a relatively short period. We will be monitoring your feedback closely. Stay tuned for updates.

Hey Bungie! You wanna make crucible more balanced? STOP MATCHING SOLO PLAYERS AGAINST FIRETEAMS IN 6V6. This is a major slap in the face of any player looking to unwind without wanting to deal with chatting in parties. I can not believe how little you guys actually change crucible and yet tell us LIE after LIE after LIE on how you ARE improving matchmaking. I for one am sick and tired of being lied to just because you guys are Activision's bitch. If Destiny 2 is going to be under Activision's wing, I will not be giving you a second chance at my wallet until you fix the things you say you're going to fix. Red bar players are STILL an issue and you're about to enter YEAR 3. Where in the -blam!- did that 50+ million you made on day one go?

SBMM has completely ruined any fun out of crucible for so many guardians including myself. 1) I'm tired of every damn game being a lag fest consisting of 1-3 red bars who are people on the other side of the planet. 2) I'm tired of having to sweat my ass off every damn game playing against MLG pro tryhard groups and clans with 2+ K/Ds and 50 TrueSkill across multiple modes with 2000+ Legionnaire ELOs, while I am solo and forced to carry a bunch of noobs on my team who go negative the entire match. 3) I'm tired of being able to recognize more than half of my sweaty ass opponents now because SBMM makes it even worse for low populated areas where all you ever see are the same bloody 10-20 people in Crucible. Just because I've improved and stepped up my game doesn't mean I'm forced to only match with the top 1% of the playerbase - what about the other -blam!-ing 99%? I play in Tokyo and by now I recognize most of my opponents because I'm forced to play the same damn people every day and it's boring. 4) I'm tired of hearing the "well the top players want to just stomp the shit players？" bullshit argument. Stop protecting the sad noobs and promoting a bunch of soft whoosies in this game. Everyone in Destiny starts at the same point. From there it should be up to each player - NOT SBMM - to rise the ranks (or fall down it) and let the pieces fall where they may. Some games you will pubstomp, some games you'll get stomped. Hopefully each player will strive to get better so they can pubstomp more often - that's how Crucible should be. 5) I'm tired of the long matchmaking times and getting put into a 4v6 or 5v6 match more than half my games. If anything SBMM makes these lopsided teams unfair, something that wouldn't happen if it was CBMM. 6) I'm tired of not being able to play with friends who are more casual at the game because the get torn up if they play with me and my SBMM matchmaking. 7) I'm tired of not being able to kick back on a Friday evening after work and just casually play around or mess around in Crucible and just have some good ol' fun. Not when all my opponents run around with fully decked out T12 gear and meta weapons as if it's the final game of a worldwide MLG tournament or something. 8) I'm tried of having to test gunsmith weapons or get my Imprecation (First Curse) kill spree against all these aforementioned tryhards. Where is the "balance" in that? 9) I'm tired of SBMM supposed to be "fair" and "balanced" and yet why is it that I always get the idiot noobs with 0.5 K/Ds in my team causing us to lose almost everytime while the other team is balanced across all players? If you want SBMM that bad put other 2+ K/D tryhards into MY team and make it fair for -blam!-s sakes. There's nothing more frustrating than SBMM putting some random idiot on my team who gets 1 kill in the daily crucible Salvage with a 0.06 -blam!-ing K/D. 10) I'm tired of everything I mentioned above from #1-9 and more. So, I'll say it again. Just ***REMOVE SBMM entirely*** and make it 100% CBMM already. [Edit1] Glad my post got was well-received with positive traction going among the community. I think it's pretty clear that SBMM just doesn't work in regular Crucible modes coupled with non-dedicated P2P servers. Hopefully Bungie will actually listen to the community and make it 100% CBMM instead of making all these tweaks to skill-levels and such as it's just ridiculous and ruining the game we want to love. [Edit2] Added another point (#9) that I noticed from playing the Salvage daily crucible today. -blam!-ing frustrating to say the least.

I may be the minority here but I'm loving the SBMM when playing solo skirmish. Lots of green bars and good quality matches. 6v6 is awful though went the amount of red bars

Took time off to play other games, came back for Iron Banner. Still red bars or green bars & teleporting. Laughable that this is still such an issue after 3 months of focused tweaks.

SBMM is in full force again. Dont beleive a word that Cozmo says. Theres no "tweaks" or adjustments. Its skill based match making over connection. Wonder why you get shot through walls or your own bullets wont register? Its SBMM.

These "improvements" have made solo play horrible. Besides fake green bars and red bar warriors that drag down the entire game. You pair me with idiot teammates and apparently very "skilled" opposing teams. I cant tel what is skill and what is lag. When i get sniped through a wall or the other guy takes more than 200 damage and lives because the damage doesnt kick in till after im dead. It makes it extremely frustrating and not fun to play. If your going to go sbmm retard at least makes the teams even. It is beyond frustrating, you need to fix this bungo. Cbmm all the way. It not even just one game its almost all.

I hope so because last week was pretty bad. Didn't matter if it was Crucible, CoE, or just hanging out in the tower, it showed all players with green bars, but we were all still experiencing lag teleporting.

This is raid specific thing that has to do with match making. Can you implement matchmaking with raids for us players who don't have Alot Of friends? Even when I post a recruitment post on the "Raid" forums the majority of the time my request for players goes unnoticed and unanswered

Erm got loaded into the daily crucible and the map was empty of other players however they still seemed to be getting kills etc. Ended up 0-0 for me but got my sterling treasure. Not sure if I'm happy or disappointed. TLDR twice been loaded into map today and although others are apparently there I can't see them or them me.

Because for the first time I'm going up against players as unskilled as me and it felt fair. Did it make playing easier? No...as all my games were extremely close. Why? Because it's a team effort. Not just one player going around killing everybody and getting 30+ kills. Did it lag? Some games there were red bar ninjas...other games not so much. Waiting for games? Yes..there were delays but nothing is instant! Waiting for a game for 3 minutes is not unreasonable. Bottom line... Sbmm Did I fell challenged? Yes. I fell I gained confidence by staying alive long enough to actually leave the spawn point! Unlike a 'normal' game where some 'great' players snipe you as you spawn. Boy that must take 'real' skill... I actually think I played better, got a bit faster, played with a few different weapons and had a lot more fun. Cbmm In a world where everybody has good internet...it would be the ideal But and there is a HUGE BUT... That's not the case. I am on fibre...when I play by myself I'm always green. When I play with any of my outside NZ friends I yellow bar. Do I notice the delay...hell yes. If you think the wait times are bad now...try waiting for cbmm games. To the complainers... Playing against players your own level...hard for you? Sweaty....because your games were close? Didn't get you kd up...Didn't get your usual 30+ kills per game? Was too close a game...because you couldn't walk all over the opposition? You had to wait 3 minutes for a game... Unthinkable...really... It's like a whole lifetime....not. Sick of losing....welcome to my world.
