[Edit 2]
I see a lot of people arguing that elemental primaries promoted less loadout variety. I disagree. I had a lot more variety in my arsenal in Year 1 than I do now, where the solution to everything is the Hung Jury.
Elemental damage was never overpowered. It was only good for burns and enemy shields of the same type. Not game breaking, but it gave certain weapons a purpose. Like my old void Jewel of Osiris I never would have used otherwise with its average perks. They should never have removed that extra variable that people like to have on certain loadouts.
Lets put it this way, if Bungie added a solar hand cannon, arc pulse rifle, and void scout rifle to the Challenge of Elders, do you think people wouldn't want to add them to their arsenal?

Number 1 should be pvp match making! I call b.s on them reinstating connection based. Nearly every IB game I play is a sweaty lag fest.

I think needing the perk tree on all the old weapons ruined them. For example the perfect balance nerf. It's okay they nerfed it for year two but my Proxima Centauri ll just doesn't feel the same anymore. #RipLoyalWeapon (Check out my Titan if you want to see that beauty.

1 ReplyAs much at I didn't thnk I would say it, I miss the nightfall the way they used to be.

Wait... we can't sparrow surf anymore?

3 Replies"A pack of wolves if prowling ". I loved seeing this, beating it and scrambling to find the chest.

4 RepliesDropping below the outpost and surviving . Watching from below as other guardians try and fail and bounce off the bottom. Fun moments.

I want to say sparrow glitching because while people could argue that it could be considered an exploitive glitch to make the S.A.B.E.R strike easier there were also many cases where it was used solely for fun like exploring the Black Garden in Patrol and being able to take your time, stroll around and appreciate the architecture.

Gjallarhorn

Elemental primaries did not make any difference whatsoever in the load out of my arsenal, now all I use is hung jury or Mida multitool, Thousand yard stare, and some LMG or rocket launcher or a sword. Really there isn't any more variety they just didn't want to actually come up with more elemental primaries. Removing all the fun from the game is bungies goal seems like.

Edited by Manimal Fries: 4/27/2016 6:20:19 PMI could do without the Nexus... but Phogoth; loved to riddle that clown with bullets.

POCKET INFINITY!!!

2 RepliesI got a lot more play from varying primary weapons with burn on them back then, then I currently do now. Like you I have the Hung Jury and that has pretty much cemented itself in my hand for anything PvE related. It's basically Fatebringer in Scout Rifle form, but with no burn primaries there's no reason to swap it out for anything.

I really miss my Titan VOG mark and the challenge/reward of the night falls... they're a joke now. Bungie please make class items cosmetic!

9 RepliesEdited by Paesano099: 4/27/2016 2:34:42 PMAgreed. Without elemental primaries I just use either MIDA or the ToO pulse. When there was I had many weapons of all kinds of elements. You could argue that it's my own fault I only use 2 primaries and I could use more, but that would be the same when there was elements. You could've used any weapon you wanted, same with now, except now there isn't any incentive to use other weapons depending on the situation, they all function the same and don't offer any bonuses like taking down this kind of shield quicker or during burns. The only variety that came out of removing elementals was on the large scale. People may not all be using the same gun, but you can pretty much bet that they use maybe only 1-2 different primaries. It used to be everyone used guns A B C and D. Now you see people using A B C D E F G and H BUT they only use one or two of those. Before everyone switched between A B C and D depending on the situation, and it's not like everyone was using those weapons. You still saw plenty of outliers who didn't have/use those popular guns.

The Game!

The puddle glitch where you can frag yourself if one is bored

1 ReplySparrow surfing? They removed they ability to do emotes on a sparrow?
-
3 RepliesFatebringer my beloved slaying machine is why they got rid of ele primaries IMO, a good 85% of the player base just ran around with fate, b-hammer, gally which made all content brainless

Turning in materials for crucible/vanguard rep. Weapon parts, armor parts nerf

Everything was well said and true.

White nail perk.

15 Replies"Elemental damage was never overpowered, they just make it so you could kill stuff of the same type much easier"?? seems kinda contradicting. "Ghally was never overpowered, it just made melting bosses easier" that is basically what you said Also player experience isn't something Bungie looks at. Bungie looks at the game experience a player might use weapon A and B all the time and nothing else. but in the community as a whole you have players use weapon A and B, another player uses C and D, another player uses E and F. removing elementals might have removed diversity from your weapons of choice, but they added diversity to the game's weapons of choice. removing them was the right move, as they were broken

I usually run supercell as a primary now just for the elemental aspect. Although it does chain nicely.

Edited by Ohhh54321: 4/27/2016 11:40:29 PMThey nerfed arc bolt grenades a little too much in my option. I miss doing nightfall just for my head to get that blue flame!
