To the folks at newer light levels joining the hard raid without having done it on normal before...

STOP. Just stop doing it. It's hard because it expects you to have done it normally before and it has variables to ramp up its difficulty. If you don't know about them and have joined a group of randoms, just say so. They may decide to teach you the ropes and carry you through. But many of us simply don't have the patience and time to do so. So here's a few tips for you all: 1) Read or watch any of the hundreds of YouTube walkthroughs that thoroughly explain the mechanics of each encounter. 2) Run the normal raid first and do so several times. Learn to do every important aspect of the raid (Warpriest aura and Golgoroth gaze holding, sisters and Oryx platform running, knowing when and how to detonate the blights, etc.). 3) Learn the small but important differences of the hard raid (Warpriest's taken attacks, Golgoroth's corrupted light exploding aura, the no pause after killing one of the sisters, taking down Oryx's light eating knights when they spawn). Then you can join the raid. Please, for the love of the gods, don't waste the limited time of people that have already done it and want to get through it as quickly as possible. That is all. Thank you.

  • so much butthurt in here. most of the butthurt responses seem to overlook the fact that he is suggesting that people who have NEVER done kings fall not jump straight in to the hard mode version. very. very. understandable. I ended up in a group like this the other day, and yes, it was a total mess. I was along for the ride, there to help, so it didn't get me upset, but it is, nevertheless, pretty stupid, in my opinion. do normal mode first. don't just pretend you know what you are doing if you don't, the veterans will catch on quick, and who wants to take the time to coach a liar?

I would think now that they have reached the light level that everyone has been requiring that someone would be nice enough to help them through the raid. Not post crap like this shunning people because they don't know the strategy that takes 5 mins tops to teach

      • I have a question, since no one wants to do oryx legit on hard, then what do I do on the no Knight strategy? I looked for videos but I can't find a good explanation. I've tried making my own groups but none of them know how to kill a light eater Knight :/

        • I was asked to help new players for normal raid. Problem was they didnt want anyone to spoil their first raid run... I was supposed to sit back and wait 'till they figured each part. Time is way valuable to spent like that so I left.

            • Agreed but not for the same reason, I think you should run normal mode with a sherpa then move to hard with a friend. Ideally the sherpa will show you what's up in normal and then your friend can guide you the rest of the way

              • How long did it take to type that? I'd imagine it would be quicker to just tell the person in the raid those things.

              • Don't watch any YouTube videos. Get a team willing to teach you. Fun with Friends, just like before the invention of YouTube, the channel for cheating cunts.

              • This is what bugs me with this community, if everyone had this mentality no one would ever have completed it, we were all new once

                • I'm seeing this in almost every run now. Since the update, people that were 300-310 are now 310-320, and apparently feel that their new higher light is a reasonable supplement for having real experience in the raid mechanics. Every single run, I end up on a team of people in which everyone claims to be a raid pro, and once we get to the challenge portion of the raid, there's always someone that finally speaks up and admits that they don't know the mechanics for (insert challenge mode here). It's frustrating, too, that people don't speak up when asked at the beginning of the raid if they are new or need any coaching. I don't mean to be insensitive to new raiders, but if you are trying to learn the raid mechanics, DON'T use the hard challenge mode as the way to do it. It's unfair to the rest of the team. Start on normal mode. Learn the mechanics. Then bump up to hard mode once you can make it through most of the normal raid without dying. Myself, and others like me, have "put in our time," so to speak, in honing our raid strategies. I should be able to join groups of other pros if I desire. I shouldn't be spending every raid as a sherpa, when that's not what I'm trying to sign up for.

                • At some point I might return to raiding. The moment challenge mode came I stopped, I've never even done a challenge mode . I just had enough of people lying about experience and failing flat on their face at the totems When O started doing kf, I watched loads of how to videos, I explained to the teams I joined about my experience with it. When I go back to raid, I'll check out the challenge mode videos and do normal a few times. Never try hard with lfg if you've never done normal.

                  • People won't learn unless you teach them. The more people you teach, the more that can raid with you in the future.

I hate being that guy but when someone doesn't know about their knights or something as stupid as that and how they've announced that they have completed oryx hm before yet we have to explain the Knights or bleeding oryx to him/her if they don't get it the first couple times he's going to have to find another group who is happy to stay up past 2am on oryx ~TheGreatJam

                  • I run newbies through the hard raid all the time. But sometimes I'm looking for a quick run. LFG used to work really well for a quick run until recently I got with a group that swore up and down they have completed the raid before despite wiping on the first round of oryx... I left when someone asked "who has 4th plate?"
