Wow, guys. Just, wow. We are now going to run out of sniper ammo insanely fast when fighting all the bosses. "Ok, I'll use my quillim's terminus!", you say? Yeah, nope. They nerfed that too.
This was not the way to go, guys. I'm constantly running out of ammo every damage cycle on the War Priest and every time in the Shade phase of the Oryx battle as it is now.
This is going to increase raid difficulty and let the more effective players do even less to make up for their less accurate brethren.
2 cycle war priest? Not anymore. 2 cycle Golgy? Idk, I usually run the gaze, but I doubt that too. Finish the Shade reliably? Nope! Now we're going to need weapons of light and tethers in the shade.
FML, bungie. I like both PvE and PvP. But you guys really, really don't give a damn about PvE'ers, do you?
I don't do these rants, but damn. I raid three times a week and i have to endure wipe after wipe already caused by random PUG guys who just aren't quite awesome at the stuff.
Now the struggle bus is gonna throw another axle bearing, thanks to this retarded "Oh, people are getting sniped. Let's nerf ammo into the freaking ground!" solution of of yours.
GG, Bungie. GG.
Edit: Because some people either don't understand how the raid boss battles work or how ammunition works with them.
For those who are going to post that the special drops are being increased, read the next section about how the King's Fall raid boss battles work:
Basically, King's Fall was designed around standing as a group basically in one spot and putting lots of highly concentrated damage on the target down range in a short window of time.
Snipers are obviously the way to do this with the most efficiency because all of these targets have precision or critical damage spots.
While you are standing in these "Put damage on target" zones, it is usually not possible to move around and pick up ammo that dropped somewhere else on the map, nor is it advisable to enter the menu to "pop a synth".
And keep in mind, ammo synthesis have that 5:00 minute cooldown timer. So I can't see how we're not going to be digging heavily into primary ammo for these, with our special and heavy exhausted, once the patch goes in.
I, personally already do this now quite often. I don't see how this doesn't translate into at least lower damage against raid bosses per damage cycle.
Edit: Changed title to better reflect the topic content and added relevant tags. Somebody said this needs to get addressed. Let's go, guys! Git 'er done! Be loud and obnoxious!
Edit: Afterthought that I'm not really against the sniper "tuning" for the crucible. That said, I have never seen somebody with full sniper ammo break the game.
Edit: Over 2,000 posts in this thread, folks. We were atop the trending list for about 36 hours. Nobody more important than Xur has bothered to stop by. You'd think at least Butthurt would be around by now.
Edit: TL:DR... The sniper ammo nerf is going to negatively affect the KF boss fights. We need to snipe the bosses a lot really fast while not running around picking up all the ammo that's going to be raining from the sky or having time to pop a synth.

I don't mind. I would love to do king's fall with out using a sniper. It gets boring using the same weapon over and over again. That's why I tell raid groups I don't have touch of malic, or black spindle even though I do.
-
PVE is dead by Bungies own hand and they dont even care. The backpack ammo nerfs are just stupid and unnecessary, and increasing drops doesnt matter when you need them every 5 seconds.

8 RepliesTriple tap 1kys will become extra important in kings fall
-
3 RepliesYes the ammo scenario will be very bad We will be shooting primaries
-
This is my exact thoughts on this. I wanted to make a post about this problem, but everyone on these forums are 'gods' and can look at bosses and they die. I mean why don't they just limit the ammo pickup in pvp and leave pve alone? If someone plays just pvp, why not go play cod or halo or something? I enjoy both pvp and pve, but pve ALWAYS gets the shaft because of pvp balances.

8 RepliesLove the complaints before even trying the "new" content/changes. Atypical Destiny community. I'll hold my opinions till I ACTUALLY PLAY it. That was I don't sound like... Someone that has no idea what they are talking about. Looking forward to trying out the updated missions and changes.

3 RepliesI've done Hard Mode on 3 characters since it was available. I've got three 320 Black Spindles because I'm a lazy SOB who doesn't care to transfer one around between my characters. I'm forever 319 because the game won't give me a 320 class item. Now that my credentials are out of the way... Suck it up. You're going to have to do more than just fire your sniper during dps phases? Somehow, I think you'll manage. You should be used to having to switch to your Machine Gun on Warpriest anyway, unless the guy holding your aura doesn't know what he's doing. Quillim's Terminus has less ammo? Have you considered using something else? I've got a Ruin Wake and a Baron's Ambition that I'll be itching to try out in there.

9 RepliesEdited by PhNx Hellfire: 4/9/2016 12:34:16 AMWait till it releases. Run the HM raid. See what happens. State your feedback here on bungie.net. 4 steps, really easy to do, and you only have to wait till tuesday, download the update, and see how things have been balanced/counter balanced. If it doesn't change for a raid? You're going to feel really stupid OP...

1 ReplyWe might have to resort to Touch of Malice on Warpriest and Golgoroth. Maybe Sleeper Simulant. As for Oryx, you shoulnt need Sniper ammo in the shade room!!! If people are clever enough just pop a blessing and everyone use Touch. Shade doesn't last 5 seconds!

2 RepliesBungie doesnt understand how their own game works, lmao.

1 ReplyThis is so -blam!-ing dumb, as a person who helps people with both normal and hm raids im the only one pretty much doing damage to all the bosses, now its going to be impossible without all the bosses going enrage so what if ammo drops more often, im not going to be able to get the amount of damage in the time where i CAN do damage, guess what? More variety brings more dicks to both pvp and pve with things like the icebreaker if you hate things like this then you dont add them in the game in the first place its impossible to make the raid harder, people automatically get better at the game, youre making the game worse for nice people

1 ReplyI have not raided much since TTK dropped. That said, I have ran through Kings Fall enough to know that you are absolutely correct. I simply can't understand why they are nerfing ammo in the first place. I am a 90% pvp player. I love it. But more than that, I love Destiny as a whole. I know they said they want players to have the same experience with weapons and gameplay in pvp and pve but there are some things that should be kept separate, and I think could be without affecting the experience of having the same gear/experience everywhere in the game. Either way, we will see how it plays out in a few days. Should be fun. ~pew pew

2 RepliesAgreed. Just nerf ammo boxes in crucible
-
1 ReplyYep... But Bungie doesn't care.
-
6 RepliesI agree. A lot of people here don't get it. Yes, there will be bricks laying all over, but the problem is the lower reserves. During war priest and golgoroth, you will run out of sniper ammo much quicker. You don't have time to pop a synth in the middle of the damage phase, nor run out and grab bricks. It's going to alter the damage phases. Right now, I put all 23 rounds into war priest plus and entire belt of quillims and primary. Less reserve means less damage, more reloading, more cycles required. And this, for no other reason than people in PvP are babies. I enjoy pvp, but never thought we needed a special ammo nerf like this.
-
Yep They need to split PVP and PVE

1 ReplySums up my vision of the Raid after April 12 perfectly. Luckily we at least have other routes to max light, even if raiding is my favourite
-
1 ReplyNeeds to be fixed, but sadly our voice is falling on deaf ears Suppose they have a raid and nobody plays. That voice will be heard
-
Yeah, this sucks.

Very well said, couldn't agree more

Bump it's a shame

2 RepliesEdited by TrulyDontCare: 4/8/2016 11:16:27 PMI love how people right these insanely long winded whining posts about things that haven't even happened yet. It happens every time they change something. They're increasing the drop rate of special ammo to make up for the drop in reserve ammo. For all we know, there could be too much ammo dropping. They also might not have increased the rate enough. But, it doesn't matter right now because the update isn't here yet, so we don't know. Settle down and decide when you actually know what it'll be like. At least then your rant might be taken more seriously.

5 RepliesYou do make a good point OP, but with a good team (which is really really hard to get on lfg) you will still be able to breeze through it. We are talking about a loss of a clip, maybe a little more, so maybe you have to go an extra round on warpriest. Shouldn't affect golgoroth and the rest of the raid is easier with touch of malice. Some of that damage loss could also be countered by the increased light level, so long as light requirements for kings fall aren't also increased. The thing that bungie has been doing is dropping old content so I think they are expecting people to move on from kings fall (while it still gives you 335 light) and move onto poe. Also you should have a try at sleeper simulant for warpriest, much more damage output than snipers could ever do. Anyways, we shall wait and see

1 ReplyWarpriest is gonna take a whole 2 rounds now, instead of 1.5. this, this is madness

And just for you eyes ive done an in depth article about the recent changes/ update with lots of hard data. I hope it helps the community
