RIP, King's Fall (AMMO SHORTAGE INCOMING)

Wow, guys. Just, wow. We are now going to run out of sniper ammo insanely fast when fighting [i]all[/i] the bosses. "Ok, I'll use my quillim's terminus!", you say? Yeah, nope. They nerfed that too. This was not the way to go, guys. I'm constantly running out of ammo every damage cycle on the War Priest and every time in the Shade phase of the Oryx battle as it is [b][u]now[/u][/b]. This is going to increase raid difficulty and let the more effective players do even less to make up for their less accurate brethren. 2 cycle war priest? Not anymore. 2 cycle Golgy? Idk, I usually run the gaze, but I doubt that too. Finish the Shade reliably? Nope! Now we're going to [i]need[/i] weapons of light and tethers in the shade. FML, bungie. I like both PvE and PvP. But you guys really, [u]really[/u] don't give a damn about PvE'ers, do you? I don't do these rants, but damn. I raid three times a week and i have to endure wipe after wipe already caused by random PUG guys who just aren't [i]quite[/i] awesome at the stuff. Now the struggle bus is gonna throw another axle bearing, thanks to this retarded "Oh, people are getting sniped. Let's nerf ammo into the freaking ground!" solution of of yours. GG, Bungie. GG. Edit: Because some people either don't understand how the raid boss battles work or how ammunition works with them. [b][u]For those who are going to post that the special drops are being increased, read the next section about how the King's Fall raid boss battles work:[/u][/b] [u]Basically, King's Fall was [i]designed[/i] around standing as a group basically in one spot and putting lots of highly concentrated damage on the target down range in a short window of time. Snipers are obviously the way to do this with the most efficiency because all of these targets have precision or critical damage spots. While you are standing in these "Put damage on target" zones, it is usually not possible to move around and pick up ammo that dropped somewhere else on the map, nor is it advisable to enter the menu to "pop a synth".[/u] And keep in mind, ammo synthesis have that 5:00 minute cooldown timer. So I can't see how we're not going to be digging heavily into primary ammo for these, with our special and heavy exhausted, once the patch goes in. [i]I, personally[/i] already do this now quite often. I don't see how this doesn't translate into [i]at least[/i] lower damage against raid bosses per damage cycle. Edit: Changed title to better reflect the topic content and added relevant tags. Somebody said this needs to get addressed. Let's go, guys! Git 'er done! Be loud and obnoxious! Edit: Afterthought that I'm not really against the sniper [i]"tuning"[/i] for the crucible. That said, I have never seen somebody with full sniper ammo break the game. Edit: Over 2,000 posts in this thread, folks. We were atop the trending list for about 36 hours. Nobody more important than Xur has bothered to stop by. You'd think at least Butthurt would be around by now. Edit: TL:DR... The sniper ammo nerf is going to negatively affect the KF boss fights. We need to snipe the bosses a lot really fast while not running around picking up all the ammo that's going to be raining from the sky or having time to pop a synth.

  • I ran hard mode 3 times this week... didnt have a problem with the special ammo. War Priest went down in 2... could have been 1. Golgoroth same as usual... I did run out of primary on the totems coz all the boxes were special ammo. What I did notice is the raid is so easy at 330+ light

      Lol I've come to the conclusion that Bungie weapon testing employees if they have time don't raids and doesn't think twice about the effects that the nerfs are going to have in the King's fall raid.

    • I agree with this, even though I play more PVP and I totally agree that this screwed over PVE. Honestly 16 sniper rounds is the same as 24. It's still a lot and if you are in skirmish you are still going to get killed a lot by it.

        Going from 23 black spindle shots to 17 is a huge blow. Even when using gear with sniper ammo. It means golgoroth is usually going to take three orbs to kill. At warpriest we all ran out of ammo half way through the damage phase and had to use our primaries. Also unless you are a Titan with ruin wings you are never going to have enough LMG ammo to make use of it. Annoying. This was a nerf aimed at pvp. Which has effected PVE far more.

      • Well, ive done 2 out my 3 raids so far this week, including 2 challenges. The ammo nerfs made 0 difference. We just popped a synth. And the bosses still take the same amount of time/rotations to kill.

        • Change and adapt. Players will be looking to get snipers with precision refund perks like on the Hereafter. The raid weapons will become more useful with the stowed refill perks. Things change and the community adapt, that's Destiny.

        • Every boss should be killable in the first cycle by the best players unless there's necessary change in the cycles (like Taniks invulnerability); making bosses so hard to kill that it's a constant sweat battle every time is not fun for repeat raiders etc

        • I thought that it was reserves to conceal while in PVP games, to combat reservations of special in competitive atmospheres. I don't think that it will affect PVE boss fights much.

        • I am just a bit confused about specifically nerfing ammo on the 1 kys. That will have little to no effect on pvp, but for the KF raid it means more heavy reliance on spindle and malice. I thought they didn't want as many required weapons like Gally was year one?

          • If you somehow run out of sniper ammo during any kings fall encounter in this next update despite ammo on the ground unless your very very unlucky and being able to pop a synth then maybe you should take some time out to practice using a sniper so your not missing shots. At the very least we will be running around with 15 rounds, no excuse if your team can't kill any boss with 15 sniper round plus 15 from synth and your other weapons. Learn to adapt rather than cry like a little bitch

              If they could keep PvP and PvE separate somehow, this wouldn't be an issue. Either way I'm not a big PvE guy anymore and I've done trials 4 times I think. All I use is primary in IB so this won't affect me personally. Hopefully destiny 2 addresses all the issues that have been popping up since Beta
