I learned that 80% of Iron Banner players have no idea how to play control.

  • I'd like to see Iron Banner be Zone Control sometime. All those that don't capture zones, would be running around, just killing, like "Why ain't I getting any points?"

  • Unfortunately a victory in control doesn't revolve around playing the objective. The enemy team could have all 3 zones held but if your team beat them on kills it's a win for you. It's nothing but team death match with flags.

    • I learned that the only maps I played in this iron banner are Twilight Gap Rusted Lands -common Exodus Blue Pantheon - very common Black Shield -common Dungeon Cathedral of Dusk Nothing on Venus or the moon We need more maps

      • 5 people on the team grab B. Then they lay waste to everything that gets close to it. 1 person grabs the objective you spawn beside. Hang on to those two objectives by pivoting back and forth between them. When a group gets to a heavy ammo chest that is about to spawn, form a perimeter to defend it while the timer ticks down. If you group up, you'll get boned by a Nova Bomb, rocket launcher or FoH. Make sure everyone pulls in close before you open it. Do not open the god-damned heavy ammo chest if friendlies are running to get it and no enemies are around. There is a special place in hell for early openers. Do open the heavy ammo chest if you are surrounded by bad guys. You will likely die but you deny them the heavy ammo. If you are running around by yourself you can mess with the enemy quite nicely if you know what you're doing. If you don't know what you're doing, find a group of friendlies and support them. Avoid sniper lanes. Not all snipers use them but many do. A well timed and placed defender bubble can be a game changer. It can completely change the tide of the battle around it, especially a contested control point. Don't underestimate Titan bros. Never slowly round a corner that a sniper can easily cover from a long distance away. Don't quit in the middle of a game because you are not winning. Turnarounds happen if the losing team doesn't get rattled and they group up. When you are slipping behind it's usually because your team is running in piecemeal. Group up, go after a control point and kick ass.

          Control just seems to me like a gigantic battle for control point B. And you know you are going to have a good team when everyone on the team stays on the first control point, either A or C whichever you spawn closer too, doing that gets you more points for the team. Then I typically hope the other team gets to B first, because to me it's easier to take a control point than it is to defend it, especially control point B. The B's have seen more bloodshed than any other control point.

            • It's simple just capture 2 zones and keep them each kill for everyone should be worth about 200 points plus the added bonus if they are near your control point

              • Mmm not so sure that 'lack of knowledge is the problem.' As usual Bungie created this problem... Not the players. Here is what I mean: after the first couple days people are playing for bounties...most of which are designed around killing and assists. Finishing your bounties is how you eventually get your package. It matters more than capturing zones or winning matches. You really only need to win 1 out of every 5 matches... And you dont even need to capture zones to win (though it helps) Thats the problem..,IB Control needs control based bounties.. IB Rift needs Rift based bounties. Instead we get Rumble based bounties and then act surprised when everyone treats it as a rumble or clash match. Lazy bounty creation + desire to get packages= people not playing as a team. It's a simple problem with a simple solution.

                • Yesterday I learned that my teammates will just go blindly looking for a fight rather than actually congregating at the spark on rift (again)

                • What a lot of players don't realise is you get extra points defending zones they just run around like headless chickens trying to shoot anything that moves !

                  I know it's unreasonable to get upset at a fictional character in a video game BUT that line infuriates me when I get 5000+ points in the match and my team still losses badly because I'm the only one that tried to control the zones and to top it off the others couldn't hit a barn door if they where standing next to it and believe their trying really hard to hit that barn door because they're not capturing zones. It wouldn't be too much to ask to have a different audio clip for the person that gets the "on the bright side" medal. Something like: "Man you kicked ass back there but the rest of the team was a bunch of fools. I will have to have a little chat with Arcite 99-4 about his match making skills..."

                  • I was playing zone control and saw my entire team skip B to kill the enemy. They don't know that kills dont mean shit in zone control. Needless to say we got -blam!-ing mercy ruled because the dumbasses on my team don't know how to play zone control

                  • It's a shame bungie don't learn. They don't learn that a mechanic that drops me into a game midway through where my team is on 6000 and the enemy are on 17000 is going to result in me jumping straight back out. They don't learn that a game were I'm getting one shotted by a bullet sponge isn't fun for me. They don't learn that when I use my golden gun on an enemy and watch them turn and shoot me as I fire a second time, only for them to die before the second shot fires (after taking my health down) is annoying. They don't learn that when I'm doing well and have a one minute warning announcement and run out to titan smash 5 people camping on heavy, getting tossed to orbit with a funny little beetle error code isn't [i]so[/i] funny. But mostly I learned that this has happened since the first day I started to play this game and it hasn't changed till this day, so I should stop complaining about it.

                      i usually learn that neither shaxx nor saladin have any idea how to match teams... at least in my head it goes "ok, you 6 people that all know each other and are each highly acclaimed players in the crucible, here is your opponent! the 6 people we pull off the street at random" ... yes i know its bungie's match making that is horrible but i couldn't resist the joke. i also learn alot that entering a match at 2v6, because the other 4 people on my team don't understand what LEAVING QUE BEFORE THE MATCH STARTS is, is a unwinnable scenario... happens to me waaaaay too often
