Just wanted to point out that you could have killed two birds with one stone, and you missed it.
Had you made the old raid exclusive weapons now drop at the new light level, but only in the raids you could have really pleased a significant portion of the community.
People have wanted the old raids to be relevant, and wanted elemental primaries brought back. Could have been win/win in my eyes.
Just my 2 cents.

19 RepliesEdited by Astrobastard: 4/5/2016 4:13:27 AMLuke Smith just confirmed that updated VoG and CE are going to be Playstation exclusives in the next DLC. Here's the link if you don't believe me: https://mobile.twitter.com/thislukesmith/post/716668899597520897/Vault-of-Glass-and-Crota's-End-Updated-In-Next-DLC

They are saving it for later.
-
Why update something old that served its purpose in the Destiny plot line..
-
That's happening in the June update
-
Y1 content should be relevant. Y1 gear should be infusible.
-
Yeah, because the remaining Y1 crowd really wants to play content they mastered last year.
-
They might do it eventually, but I doubt it.
-
Then no one would have anything to do a month later.. Everything would just be so easy it'd make destiny boring like in HoW..
-
Edited by Hangz: 4/5/2016 5:07:45 AMNo they wouldn't. They bring back classic year 1 weapons and fix gear drops and they're still bitching
-
Agreed
-
Yes, they could have, but come summer, they would need to produce new content to please the masses because the April update grew dry. They're spacing out content to excite people until September. I'm taking a shot in the dark, but they'll probably re-release HoW content now, VoG and CE in June/July to save themselves producing new content. September will probably be a DLC.

Only miss elemental primaries when endgame mods require matched damage for shields. What a pain in the ass
-
Edited by brose_one: 4/5/2016 4:19:43 AMthey should just stop making anything and drop the enemy levels down to VoG level. all anyone wants to do is run VoG armor & weapons. (and Icebreaker/Gjallarhorn) what's the point of the game even moving forward?
-
18 RepliesElement primary needed to be taken out anyways and if the kind fall don't give you it. If bungie would have put VoG at 335 and same weapons I pretty sure bungie would get rid of element damage or fatebringer. That gun is cancer.
-
3 RepliesAnd instead the brought back the worst end game activity in the game so far :D
-
That's not 2 birds with one stone. They would've had to dedicate resources to make that happen.
-
2 RepliesThey are saving that in case shit really hits the fan lol

I do not believe bringing back them back with elemental would be the best idea (as it would make most guns a lot let useful then the old raid weapons which I've had my fun with already and would like some new entertaining weapons to use). What I do think though is new guns in the future should have elemental burns on them. I feel like weapons have lost a lot of their excitement post TTK release. I want to feel powerful when I am using my end game weapons but they all feel the same shooting at these bullet sponge enemies. Miss the days of being able to burn through enemies with the right setup of weapons. Raid weapons just feel lackluster now and it bugs me, these are endgame weapons and to get the best possible ones you have to get lucky not only on the light level but also the perks. Just my opinion is all.

Edited by DrewKnight058: 4/4/2016 11:14:03 PMThey could of made the old raid armor similar to the cosmetics in the Sterling Treasure and just updated them with the glow feature. That would of been a easy simple and recyclable way to bring back armor and customization. Also by allowing Halloween gear to be infused with randomized stats that could be adjustible with glimor or any new type of currency that could of been obtained in the old raids as well.

I think they are working on those and might increase the light lvl to 365 at the end of year...

3 RepliesBungie needed to make a weapon rebalance, mainly because elemental primaries, and other super op weapons. Fatebringer was the answer to all arc activities (with outlaw and firefly included) the pulse rifles and the fang of ir yut were decent replacements. Vision of confluence was the answer to all solar activities (full auto came in the box and superb stability). If you fought hive, then the abyss defiant was actually a better choice. For void burns, I would choose the word of crota over the atheons epilogue. And those were legendary weapons. That means you could pair them with op exotics. Do you want to burn the world? VoC +black hammer (a legendary black spindle with the exact same stats) or ice breaker +gjallarhorn (or hunger of crota, not a perfect replacement, but does a decent job still). Do you want to shock everyone? Fatebringer+found veredict (or patience and time/plan c/ 4th horseman) +thunderlord (vog rocket launcher/song of ir yut or even a gjallarhorn ) Do you want to send your enemies to the void? Word of crota + praedyths revenge (sword breaker) + truth (or again gjallarhorn...the answer to all endgame activities). That is why they couldn't bring all y1 weapons to y2. They need to change stats and eliminate elements from primaries. And if they do that, the forums would explode in rage.

Edited by Succ Fish: 4/4/2016 11:08:11 PMBump Just make all weapons and armor and raids Year 2 and have all elementals primary
-
1 ReplyThey are saving the old raids for the paid DLC later this year, calling it now Why give something people want for free when you can make them pay for it?
-
I'd love for the raids to be relevant to the current level, however, elemental primaries aren't a thing anymore. They won't bring that back.
-
2 RepliesI actually used more weapons in y1, now I just use the same 3 primaries or zhallo for arc burn.
-
As long as they are exotic, I don't mind elemental primaries. Elemental legendary primary weapons should never have happened.
