Would the story be in the movie or do I have to go to Bungie.net and read the grimmoir to figure out what's going on.
-
1 ReplyNo. It would see more success if it was but into episodes for a season. But tbh I'd much rather see halo seasons and the witcher series be made into movies.
-
2 RepliesIt's possible but very unlikely. Halo is a good example.., risky move. Popular game but they only make mini series that are about an hour and a half total.
-
Lol... No.
-
Destiny movie would be bare bones story wth hardly any information on anything. And come with a book, so we could have the fleshed out story.
-
Desticles would compare it to every single movie that comes out after it.
-
It would be best if it were sponsored by Hasbro and Viagra....you know, Nerf and Buff!
-
They would over nerf the editing and the popcorn would be too salty.
-
You'd buy a ticket and the movie would stop 45 minutes in until you paid up for another ticket.
-
If they had a cinematic mode, we'd have a Red vs. Blue-esque web cartoon by now
-
I'd be down for a Star Wars: The Clone Wars-esque cartoon version of it.
-
As an RPG, it would ruin the story, by showing us how things should go, instead of having events happen how we want them to. An non-canon online show, a la Red vs Blue, would be preferable.
-
Everyone saying that it would fail because there is no story. That is the reason a movie like this could thrive! They could literally do whatever they want with the world of destiny. And why do games that turn into movies fail? Because the movie could never hold the story and lore of the video game.
-
6 RepliesIt would fail, but not because of Destiny. All games that become movies fail.
-
2 RepliesIdk how that would work. Most movies have a story, seems like it would be weird to try to make one without.
-
It would need a GIANT budget to make it worth it and also a great director. But first a script on what it would be about and what part of the story it would follow first.
-
No story. Destiny is a post-apocalyptic, sci-fy, futuristic, and dramatic game. A movie of this would be insanely hard to create. Also...
No story
-
A prequel movie could work, i dont think anything set during the game would though.
-
1 ReplyThey didnt make a halo movie and that was a good game.
-
Do it on the lore
-
As if it wouldn't work! I think it would be a better fit for a series though, rather than a movie. The initial set-up gives you a bit of backstory (about the Traveler & the 'golden age'), but the start (imho) of the series kicks off shortly before the proverbial begins to hit the fan. There's enough content & lore in the backstory to fill out a series easily I reckon.
-
It would be the most cringeworthy thing in existence.
-
If Ratchet and Clank can have a movie, then anything is possible. But I rather see a Destiny graphic novel.
-
Who in the hell said it work work. Just curious
-
I'm still waiting on that Mass Effect movie.

Edited by Communism (Timelost): 3/30/2016 12:17:31 AMIf done properly ABSO--blam!-IN-LUTELY. The live action trailers weren't bad. If they can do that with the movie with a little better cgi and acting, it'd be amazing
