Let me give you some advice:
#1 - Everything that kills you is OP and a no skill crutch
#2 - Anything you use requires MLG Pro skill. But only in you. Everyone else is a no skill scrub
#3 - If anyone asks: You have been playing this game since the Alpha and have done every activity 10000 times, blindfolded while watching TV. You were here since Halo CE or even better, since before Bungie existed. You are more og than the company itself
#4 - You went flawless every weekend in Y1 but refuse to wear the emblem
#5 - The reasons you haven't gone flawless in Y2 include (but are not limited to) lag switching and unkillable teams from Mexico. You always get screwed over in the 7th round
#6 - Bungie lies and is constantly looking for ways to steal your money. They also target you specifically when they nerf or buff things
#7 - Everything that came out so far is way better than anything that is being released in the future. This applies every time a new update is announced
#8 - You should also start talking about leaving this game right now, because it's so dead and is gonna be even more dead when some other game kills it. But still keep playing and talking about quitting on the forums a lot
#9 - People that are better than you are no-life fat try-hard pub stompers that have never seen a vagina. Most, if not all, of them are also lag switchers and / or use Final round Icebreakers
#10 - People that are not better than you are Y2 scrub lords that need to "git gud"
#11 - When someone disagrees with you look up their complete stats and game history, find the weakest point and ridicule them intensely. If you can't find anything just correct their grammar or spelling.
#12 - One very important thing to remember is that Deej is the head developer, lead sandbox designer and CEO of Bungie. He also wrote the story of Destiny and is singlehandedly responsible for all the "cut content". Whatever happens, he is to blame. If you see him (or anyone else from Bungie) comment on anything in the forums you have to tell them all your problems right away, regardless of the topic discussed
#13 - "-blam!- Xur! Seriously, -blam!- that guy. He is the most useless piece of bytes in this game." Repeat these words EVERY friday. If he brings stuff you don't like, make a forum post explaining in detail why and how much bullshit that is. Make sure to emphasize how "done" you are and threaten to leave this game. Remember, this game is only about you and Bungie knows that very well. If, on the other hand, he brings anything good, get on the forums immediately and post about how upset you are. Why? Because (and this is crucial):
#14 - You earned all your exotics and didn't buy them from Xur like all the other noob scrub lords
#15 - At least once a week write a "nerf fusion rifles" comment on a random topic post, even though you have no idea what it means
#16 - "OMG 50 comments. We're trending guys.Thank you so much everyone" <- This
#17 - If at any point in time you write a post that is so salty, offensive and wrong that the community starts calling you out, just claim "satire" and tell everyone to "get a life and chill". If that doesn't work, refer to point #9
Just some general tips on how to blend into this community.
EDIT:
In lieu of the overwhelming positive response to this comment I am thinking of moving it into a separate post titled "Code of Conduct #2 - The unofficial guide to the Bungie forum".
But I am afraid that a lot of the above mentioned guidelines would be enacted if I did that and that might ruin the whole thing.
In short, the trolls would have a buffet :)
What do you guys think?
Leave this here for history to remember or move it into a whole new separate post?
Hi! Welcome :)
Make sure you read the weekly updates from Bungie - that'll save you a lot of wasted effort!
Try not to listen to the morons that troll this forum. Reddit is a much nicer community ;)
If you're looking for friends to join you I recommend enrolling in the100.io
Good luck!
This game blows. You wasted you're money and should have bought the division..
Wait that is unless you love grinding for pointless gear and lag switched PVP.. Destiny was a bad choice bud
Welcome friend, grind out your gear until you are raid ready. Make friends and tackle these foes head first, they are the best experiences in this game.
My absolute favorite times in this game have been raiding with amazing people I've met here.
LEAVE THE FORUMS NOW. Everybody is so negative. You'll have so much fun if you just never look at the forums. Ever.
Edit: Don't even read the other comments. Just go, before it's too late.
I say welcome to destiny!! I hope you have lots and lots of fun and get good rewards!!! P.S. Stay on the good side of the forums please I don't want salty players to ruin you
Hello, week done on getting the game. At the moment unfortunately the community on the forums is a little toxic and salty, so I would advise either avoiding the forums or tempering your sense of decency.
