Edit: Challenge mode is laughably easy and the incursion is a slow boring bullet spungy bore fest. Playing other games as well as destiny, won't be going back to division
Im no desticle. In fact I'm not even sure what constitutes being a desticle, but having put about 40 hours into The Division completing the story doing all the side missions collecting almost all collectibles and having a decent stab in the dark zone I can safely say I'm already pretty bored and think that even vanilla destiny had more to do at the same point.
I will certainly be giving the challenge modes and incursions a go but I just don't feel like I can be bothered to even skill up for them.
The division simply does not compete with Destiny's sense of theatre or game play. They're not even in the same league. The rng is a bit better, the story is a bit better but everything is a bit you know meh.....
Oh and it's buggy and glitchy as fuk. For a game that's been delayed for 2 years you think they'd iron some of that out. And content got cut.
The destiny and division are fundementaly the same game. Just because the point of view changes doesn't make it much different. I will reserve final judgment till I've played challenge and incursions but right now I'm all division till April 12th

Not that it had anything really going for it, but at least you tried. Edit: For clarity

1 ReplyFunny I play both and I don't compare them. Weird right?
-
2 RepliesI hate the combat it just bores me to death
-
2 RepliesThey are fundamentally not even close to the same game. The Division is closer to Diablo than Destiny. Most who have played other RPGs agree on this.
-
3 RepliesMissions in + in a nutshell Kill things to get to objective, get to objective, kill moar, fight bullet sponge, win
-
8 RepliesMy personal opinion. The Division is fun, but it's not gonna give me 700 hours like Destiny has. Divisions' story is just as shitty as vanilla Destiny, and I'm tired of running 5 miles to my next objective. I'm hoping incursions are a bit more fun than "run here, kill bad guys, completed".

13 RepliesCan't agree more. Division was fun for 3 days. Just 3 days of game play. It's an average game with average mechanics. I agree loot system is much wider and has great implementation. But I don't feel any excitement when I get anything. Like when gally dropped for me even for 3rd time, I was super pumped. Or my ldr with final round and shortgaze. I was super excited. Division is alright for story, below average for gun play and on top of the league for running and bullet sponge mobs and bosses. Destiny ttk also cut down same excitement because they provided a guaranteed way for stuff. Think thoroughly before you reply. And please be brave to accept the facts I have mentioned above.

Division was smart to make its player creator representative of its intended audience: -Beanie or skullcap (for edginess) -Neckbeard (to alert females you will not be needing them to waste your time) -Unfortunate tattoos (because it shows that you watch plenty of UFC and shouldn't be messed with when buying organic avocadoes at Trader Joe's) -Complete lack of individual personality (for obvious reasons)
I do hope no one gets mad
1 ReplyDestiny & Division are 2 great games we can play. Don't think that one is better than the other. Both are strong in their own genre. Sorry for those who think that they have to leave any either game to be able to play the other.
-
I scoff at the people comparing Division to Vanilla. They're doing it wrong, and on purpose.
-
7 RepliesCorrection* there was no story in any game (vanilla) but destiny had more memorable npc and the division doesnt
-
While the division is a good game it is not in the same class as Destiny for replay ability and just basic movements/gun play. Those here that have played since TDB era remember a lot of players bitching at Bungie for artificially making enemies "harder" by raising there level above ours.Guess what the division does? Yep just makes all the enemies major bullet sponges by raising there level to 31 or 32,makes killing Valus pre-nerf a simple task compared to the challenge story missions in the division.

Why do people compare these two games, besides loot, totally different games

I think the two games compliment each other.

5 RepliesIts a moot point at this stage Yes the division is new and destiny is well into year 2, this converstion needs to be had in 1 1/2 years when division will be at the same age as destiny is now Will people still be playing it then, personally i think not
-
I like The Division but I agree, I don't enjoy myself on that game like I did when I first got Destiny but I can't be bothered running around the dark zone until Incursions and I've done a few challenge modes. I guess I just keep playing Pokemon and Call of Duty Zombies until Incursions comes out
-
I'm with destiny and it not as good.
-
I like them both. To me they both Excell and fall short in different areas but I wouldn't say one is better than the other. I'm simply having more fun in the div right now because a) I'm burnt out on Destiny and b) I have more friends currently playing the Div. I'm just glad to have a few games to play while we are in a content drought in Destiny.
-
I just started division a few days ago.. About a week actually and it's just a good game .. Destiny is better but it's just in a dry spot .. There isn't much to do in it.. Once destinys update comes I most likely will be back but now it's just trials is the only interesting thing and that's not even as fun because the majority of destiny players that still play are super try Garda with 2.0 kds and 70x flawless
-
Funny story about the Division. Me and my 5 buds just started doing Kings Fall a few months before Division came out. We never completed it, because all 5 of them left for the Division. I was the only one that didn't get it. Wanna guess how many of them are still playing the Division regularly? One. So glad I saved that 60 bucks, lol.

4 RepliesDestiny and The Division aren't even remotely similar, aside from the fact that you can shoot stuff in both games.
-
3 RepliesDestiny sucks. Also pasting this on a destiny forum is like going to Yankee Stadium and saying Boston isn't a good team
-
DIVISION SUCKS NUTSACKS

7 RepliesNo true pvp kills it for me. No raids, no strikes, no supers. Destiny is far superior
