Things people say about weed:
1. It's addictive! (So are cigarettes & alcohol.)
2. It impairs your judgment. (So does alcohol.)
3. It's bad for your health. (So are cigarettes, alcohol, and cheeseburgers.)
4. People can die from a drug overdose! (You can die from alcohol poisoning too but that's still legal.)
Give me one legitimate reason why weed should be outlawed. Just one.
Edit: 5. "It kills brain cells." (Not really.)
"Marijuana (Cannabis) – Another myth among anti-drug campaigns is that marijuana kills brain cells; this is not at all true. Smoking weed or cannabis will not cause neurons to die. Despite the fact that marijuana may impair the brain while the user is high, it doesn’t do any cellular damage or really harm the brain. Based on most literature, it is one of the safest illicit substances for your brain. Really the only major thing that heavy marijuana use can do is increase your risk for developing schizophrenia."

Edited by SoulPiece: 3/24/2016 7:35:49 AMI really do not have a firm opinion on whether it should be legal or illegal. However I do have worries, I feel I have a right to speak into this considering my former elongated recreational time with weed. I used to smoke it all the time. It was basically a routine. As the years went by, it did in fact lead to other drugs, because I was interested. If weed wasn't so bad what was wrong with any other drug? That was my thought process at the time. So for my first worry, this is one of them, while it may not be true for all, it was true for me and I know that to be the case with many other people. It can open the doors to questions and curiosity. However, this curiosity stems from a lack of information. (For example, other drugs do feel friggin fantastic; however, it can have extremely detrimental effects on your mental process, or your brains development. This is a subject not commonly taught about drugs. Mainly because all we know is that we are supposed to be terrified of these things! What a stupid way to teach people! Am I right? Through fear tactics and repetition.) Anyways, as the years went on I saw what I had begun to do to myself. I thought that weed was helping me to mature and stay positive and in the moment. This wasn't the case after repeated observations of myself and my thoughts, it was rather an illusion I had created for myself. Weed had spurred something I was already beginning to do, which was to deny who I really was as a person. I began to creat a "new" image of myself and the world around me. I felt this false sense of enlightenment at this feeling weed had given me. That it had given me a new "understanding." In conclusion my second worry is a falsity of self and beliefs. Which I feel can be a case for many people who use weed recreationally. I could go on for forever. I am interested to hear others opinions. I only wish for people to reply not with their heads but rather with heart. As a side note I do feel it is important to note I do not regret any of my past decisions. For they have helped me to become who I am today. Edit: As far as medicinal purposes. I believe we are very advanced in medicinal engineering. Therefore I think it is fair to say that weed could be used if proven beyond a shadow of a doubt as a beneficial healing herb, but I do not believe that the "high" effects are necessary. We as humans have the means to create medicine from it without the "high" effects. IF it is indeed beneficial medicinally.

Because it's already a government owned project but it's a secret. Lol idk. Legalize it and tax it for all I care, it's a damn plant. How are you gonna make a plant illegal because it's "harmful?" Edited by Immortal Tech: 3/24/2016 3:56:55 PMJust look at it like this 10 joints = half asleep/super hungry 10 advils = probably half dead if not completely 10 tequila shots = black out/alcohol poisoning 10 cigarettes = struggling to breathe 10 lines of coke = heart failure 10 injections of heroine = dead on scene 1 allergen + 1 allergic person = death/allergic reaction Now how many of these require a paramedic to respond? ~slowly tips hat and sparks blunt~
Really the only major thing that heavy marijuana use can do is increase your risk for developing schizophrenia.
Because, you know, schizophrenia is no big deal. Also, many of your arguments seem less of good reasons to legalize pot than good reasons to ban cigarettes and alcohol.

7 RepliesBecause my cousin once injected 8 marijuanas directly into their bloodstream and died instantly. Pot is no joke kids.

3 RepliesIt's a crutch, and people need to stop using crutches
-
8 RepliesThe only reason it is still illegal is because of BigPharma being scared of losing billions of dollars being spent on stupid medications that can possibly cure one thing but could potentionaly open the door for another disease/disorder.
