I would have to say skills and abilities You could hand off equipment (in most rpgs) But you can't give a nub your skill points
-
You need both
-
Well I'm a loot whore so, loot.

Edited by Lady Masque: 3/12/2016 4:27:04 PMUggggh. An RPG sucks without either tbh. The Incredible Adventures of Van Helsing, sucked horribly because of a lack of stylish loot. Most of it looked the same. That and the voice acting. Oh god.

For me its story. If you don't have one, you'll end up with a game with tons of Fetch and Kill quests. Skill and abilities should come before looting because that is more important in terms of gameplay.
-
I'm gonna go with skills/abilities. Every class should have a role to fill that contributes to victory.
-
8 Repliesskills/abilities. In WoW you don't win a raid because your ball of stats. You win because of what you bring to the table ability wise. (don't forget communication and execution.)

Replayability

Random loot keeps me playing games. Random rolls keep me always looking for something better.
-
I prefer skill points + armor/weapon dependance, vs. perks.

Either way there had better be some nudity.

Tbh, both are equally important. I already know what is gonna win (skills and abilities) but I voted loot and equipment because I love loot way too much , and I love looking badass. That's the main reason I play RPG's and that's the main reason they are my favorite. I'm still a huge nerd when it comes to making the right build though.

Edited by BeanTwenty3: 3/10/2016 11:42:24 AMDepends on RPGs you can usually specialise into what you want to play so... Primarily I'd say loot but skills and stats in them are just as important
