I've played destiny since the first week in 2014. I've done the raids, trials, iron banner, prison of elders, etc. I've mounted the heads of Skolas, Atheon, Crota, and most recently Oryx above my fireplace. I cried when I got Gjallahorn for the first time... Only to weep once again when it was nerfed to the ground. I've made new friends and new memories. At 14 cents an hour total in gameplay, I'd say I've gotten my money's worth.
But recently I've realized that this game has grown stale. More and more issues have been popping up in crucible and PvE. I've tried to look past the sweaties in crucible running year 1 party crashers, thorns, and felwinters. I've tried to ignore the increasing number of salty "MLG" raiders who kick you if you die more than once in the raid. I've moved on from the fact that my vision of confluence, Gjallahorn, and murmur (yes I used murmur) sit collecting dust in my vault. I've even continued to play through the fact that my original raid team have all left destiny in search of better games.
Bungie, I am a loyal fan and I love destiny despite all its problems, but if you want anyone to play Destiny 2 then you had better get your sugar honey iced tea together. Why do I think this? Because The Division is in a great place to usurp you.
I played both division betas, and loved every freaking second of it. It was in a word BETTER than destiny. Mechanics were awesome, no lag, bugs, or overpowered weapons. The graphics were off the hook, and the open world was better than your planet system. And I am not the only destiny player to think this. Heck, the whole world thinks it too.
Just give The Division a Google and you'll see that Destiny is about to have its *blank* rocked. So Bungie, what will you do to save yourself? How will you survive the great migration? Because it's been fun but you know what they say, "the grass is always greener on the other side", and in this case that is 100% accurate.
Edit 1: Damn over 400 responses. Thanks for taking the time to give me your take on this, you've all given me a lot to think about. Ps I'm also glad for the people bashing my opinion: it means that destiny still has loyal fans. Also I don't mean to trash destiny too bad, I still love the game and will play destiny 2, I just think that The Division has a good chance to capture the attention of tired destiny players looking for a fresh start.

It was ok....I'll buy it but I will still be waiting on destiny updates.

Call of duty holds more people online than destiny ... Destiny doesnt come near close to call of duty pvp competitive. With that been said Destiny death is around the corner it dont matter if they release new dlc people know what theyre all about and most are sick of it. No game will kill it but the devs. The division is a whole different game and UBISOFT made it... ill give it 1-2 months until people get bored and put it down. Dont let Destiny twitch streamers fool you , they are tired of destiny and are dyin to find the next game to hop on and feed of..

I'm so ready for the Division !(:
-
I might... Play both?
-
Lol, just like failout 4.
-
Lol Just like every person said the other games that came out would kill destiny and they didn't the division is worse than BO3 or SW: Battlefront
-
They are two different games with different play styles. They are similar but those that like 1 won't automatically like the other. Sonic and Mario are both platformers and sf and mk Arlene both fighter but both pairs have different fans

3 RepliesEdited by Nova: 2/29/2016 11:31:09 PMI'm a destiny beta player and I'm ready to leave. I have over 70 oryx completions and still no 320 class item. It's beyond ridiculous. I won't be back until there's new content.
-
3 RepliesI just discovers something. You can play more then one game at a time.
-
2 RepliesStill love playing the game but it seems pointless to keep grinding for 320 when the light level is about to increase anyways. I'll pop in and out until then and try and juggle my time between the two once Division drops next week. I think the thing to save Destiny would be more Raid-like challenges which end up with guaranteed top-tier rewards. Hitting rank 5 in IB or going to the lighthouse in ToO should guarantee a 320 something at this point.

4 RepliesNah. It's a choppy 3rd person cover shooter. Just my opinion but I think it's going to be a horrible game. I played both betas as well and then canceled my preorder. I bought farcry primal instead and love it

The beta was fun, but I don't think I'll get it.

Already migrated to warframe

I could say I won't miss ya but I play on ps3 anyway so I've never even dealt with ya

WINTER IS COMING

Playing a game without Space Magic LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOL OKAY
-
Its alright, not that good ! A 3rd person, cover fire shooter is just not my cup of tea though. Third person feels to arcade-ish and cheap to me. Felt the same way about Gears of War and Socom. Battlefront, the same problem.
-
I wish there was a first person perspective in the Division... I just can't abide 3rd person perspective.... But yeah - lots of buzz on the Division. But I sadly won't invest in a 3rd person perspective game - yeah - I could try, but i really don't feel it with 3rd person.

To the bandwagon!
