If you're over 300 light, then Xûr is pretty much useless.

3 RepliesNot entirely true. Once you get one character to 311 light, you can use them to buy engrams from Xur. They will all decrypt at 310, and you can use them for infusion on your other characters if you do not play them regularly.

You can also buy glass needles to get your exotics with the right int/dis/str rolls....

The engrams he sells can drop at 310 pretty sure. As long as you are over 300 when you decode.

As opposed to year one when he was only useful for heavy ammo.

2 RepliesI only need him for glass needles occassionally. I have all the year 1 and 2 exotics plus like 30 exotic engrams in the vault. I probably will stop using 3oC when I finish my current batch. I wish he still sold exotic shards though.

1 ReplyAs others have said - engrams. Buy Yr 2 engrams and if you are over light 311+, they are guaranteed to decrypt to 310 items. Use them to infuse into your Legendary gear to get your favorites up to 310. Don't have the Strange Coins to afford the engrams? Buy ToC and farm them. Again, as long as you are light 311+ they engrams will decrypt to 310. Also, if you want to rank up your Crucible factions, you can buy 3 heavy ammo synths for 1 strange coin. Something to do with the strange coins if you really need nothing else. The glass needles will let you re-roll your exotic perks too.
